This is a lovely closed door romance. I do love stories with notable children and pets and this has both. The connection between Lizzie and Sin is very sweet. I think it also would be great to get the story someday of when Lizzie took care of Sin when he was sick.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

While in America on a mission, Edward Sinclair, Sin to his friends, contracts yellow fever. He fortunately stumbled across the home of Elizabeth, a British war widow, who nurses him back to health. When he recovers, he goes to complete his mission intending to come back to Boston and Lizzie. By the time he returns, she has sailed back to England hoping to find her brother. In London, she finds a job as a companion to Aunt Millie, an adorable older woman with an ear trumpet and a big heart. She also just happens to be Sin’s aunt. Fate? Sin and Lizzie have a chance to become reacquainted. Will they act on the feelings that were beginning when they were separated in America? This a lovely romance with a helping of mystery (or two), a bit of danger, kidnapping, and rescue. Sin and Lizzie are awesome. Sin’s talent is rescue and Lizzie’s is healing. They are both strong, smart, and caring. Aunt Millie is a treat, and Simon and his dog Josie are adorable. The villain, “The Man” is evil and a bit unstable. He gets his just reward. A lovely romance and an ending with happy surprises.

A wonderful story and romance, well developed and engaging characters. Sin and Lizzie have great chemistry, and I enjoyed their second chance journey to a fulfilling and deserving happily ever after.

Baron Edward Sinclair, affectionately known as Sin, never imagined himself the marrying kind until he encountered the captivating Elizabeth in the American colonies. She nursed him back to health when he collapsed on the door step nearly at death’s door, but they became separated when he left to continue his assignment. For Lizzie, being widowed in the colonies triggered a cascade of hardship, fear, and grief. Returning to England, she yearns to reunite with her brother, Michael whom she has not seen in several years. Fortunate to secure a position as a companion, then she unexpectedly meets Edward again
A well written tender romance, Sin & Lizzie fell in love whilst he recovered from yellow fever but before they really realised their feelings they were separated. I loved both Sin & Lizzie their feelings for each other really shone through. I also loved the secondary characters Aunt Millie & her ear trumpet, Simon & Josie as well as catching up with some characters from earlier books. As well as a lovely romance there was also the mystery as to who “The Man” was & the full extent of his misdemeanours – thank goodness he got his just desserts

What a sweet story! I enjoyed the coincidences that brought Lizzie and Sin together and then reunited them later. Aunt Millie is a true joy with her cats. There was adventure, danger, mystery and love which made for very enjoyable reading!

Loved the characters. Aunt Millie is great, Simon, Bobby and their dog is so cute. Simon is very brave. Lizzie and Edward met in America. Lizzie is a widow whose in-laws want nothing to do with her, so she is alone. Edward stumbles upon her and she nurses him back to health. They had a strong connection, but Edward had to find his friend's son. He promised he would be back, it took him too long to return and Lizzie was not able to stay, so she went back to England. Her only relative, her brother, was not there to welcome her but he did tell her who would help her. Now she has a wonderful job and good friends, but she still doesn't know what happened to her brother. By chance, Edward is back in England and runs into Lizzie. The feelings are still there, but there are obstacles to stand in their way. Family isn't only the one you were born into, sometimes you find them along the way.

This is a wonderful story of a widow, Lizzie who cares for an ill soldier, Sin in Boston during the war.
A few years later she is a companion to an older lady in London. She runs into Sin who is a baron at a ball. They never forgot each other. There is such great chemistry between Lizzie and Sin and the way they care for each other.
There are a lot of wonderful secondary characters, including an evil lord and a bit of a mystery. There are also some fun animals included in the story.
I adored the story and the way everyone (except the evil lord) cared for each other. It is beautiful, make you feel good story. I couldn't put it down.

When Sin (aka Edward) returns home to London from America he can’t help remembering the beautiful widow Lizzie who had nursed him when he almost died of Yellow Fever. Penniless, Lizzie returned home to England to look for her brother which was the only family she has. Becoming a companion to Sin’s aunt, they are delighted to run into each other again. Together they must work to find and save her brother. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

I enjoyed the story very much, especially Simon and Bobby and their dog. At times I thought that it had redundancies especially when the heroine was thinking about the villain. I got a little tired of the same thought again and again. I enjoyed the aunt and the other friends. It does sort of leave you wondering about all the characters you have met and which one will be featured in the next book. The hero definitely was a man of strong purpose and duty, but he never wavered in his feelings, just had a hard time expressing them.

Sin is gravely ill with yellow fever in America when Lizzie a widow nurses him over two months.
A sweet undeclared love between the two but Sin has to leave.
Lizzie waits for him for six months and then returns to England when she encounters the Baron Sinclair.
Coincidences abound in the story with his undercover work and her job as his Aunts companion.
Lizzie is also searching for her brother Michael.
A sweet clean romance that has tender moments and fun encounters.

What a delightfully different tale of a widow, Lizzie, and the man she saves, Sin. Their chemistry just flowed from the page and the heartaches made me want to cry. Simon is a hoot and Aunt Millie is a handful! I loved how the story was well plotted and flowed easily. The villain is VERY creepy and was glad to see he got his just desserts. I do think more time should have been spent with Simon’s reunion with his mate and at times the author did seem to repeat herself some. The animals were adorable and would have loved to have seen the epilogue scene with them with my own eyes, it sounded so adorable. Exciting, adorable and worth the read!

I received this story for free and these are my own opinions.
