A heart-rending story of a nine-year-old boy escaping the clutches of war by being sent off to a strange country, alone. He lives in a hotel for months, making a few trustworthy friends as he goes, but always nervous about unseen peril lurking about in the shadows.
The poignant writing style pricked my heart a few times. I really felt the emotion of the situations that young Abbas experienced. Would read another novel from this author.
