Another brilliant addition to the Ever After Agency Series by Sandy. A hallmark romance book for sure.

I love how each book reintroduces characters from the previous books so you get to see how they progress in life but it can also be read as a stand alone.

I enjoyed it and it was an easy read, the characters I felt weren’t as memorable as the previous three books but I still love the writing style and tropes. I enjoyed the sprinkle of Christmas throughout too as I didn’t know that was part of this book. Romance and Christmas woven together are always a perfect mix.

Give this a go if you enjoy friends to lover tropes, cosy and easy reads.

Okay this is like the sweetest ever friendship/lover book! I could not get over how adorable this couple is. I fell in love! It was just so incredibly sweet to read their story. I couldn't put the book down. If you love love, this is the book for you.

Someone Like You is a sweet, Hallmarky romance that I completely devoured in basically two sittings. It’s an easy-to-read, friends-to-lovers story with a cast of quirky characters. Although I quite enjoyed it, there were definitely parts that I had issues with, starting with narration.

As someone who’s never read this series before, I really don’t understand the choice to include Poppy’s POV. It was completely unnecessary to the plot and, frankly, seemed like a cop-out for the author, who didn’t want to bother convincing the audience that Gaby really does have feelings for Raff and just told us how obvious it was instead.

On the topic of those feelings, I was really hoping for a fun revelation. However, what we got instead just seemed improbable. As a chronic overthinker, I don't really buy Gaby being so oblivious to her feelings for such a long time. While there were a few hints of her questioning herself, the switch to realizing her feelings seemed too sudden for me. Gabby really went from “Am I jealous?... I MUST BE IN LOVE!” to “I HAVE TO TELL EVERYONE I KNOW I’M IN LOVE!” in basically a chapter.

All in all, Someone Like You is a quick and charming read, perfect to cozy up with on a cold winter afternoon.

This book started out great but then started to drag out in the middle to the point where it felt like it should've been a shorter book. The characters were relatable and the banter was great but the actual writing could've been a little better in the second half.

I love a good friends to lovers romance. This one started out strong and then kinda dragged which is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Felt like it could've been cut in half but was still a good read.

Cute best friend's tale, matchmaking seems like a good idea, but maybe it will make you realize what you've wanted has been there all along - but is it too late? Quirky family, wedding angst, and feelings everywhere - plus a snowstorm? A fun read.

This book is good if you’re looking for the friends to lovers trope. The plot felt pretty stereotypical and the characters weren’t very memorable.

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I like the start of this but then it seemed to slow down and felt a bit of a plod the rest of the way.

Was hoping for something a little bit different but this felt quite stereotypical with nothing new to offer.

An ok, easy to read book.

ARC Review: *Someone Like You* by Sandy Barker
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 stars)

*Someone Like You* by Sandy Barker is the ultimate best-friends-to-lovers romcom, filled with laugh-out-loud moments, sweet festive vibes, and a love story that’ll make your heart swoon. If you’re a fan of slow-burn romance and irresistible chemistry, this book is for you!

Gaby and Raff are the quintessential best friends—inseparable, perfectly in sync, and able to finish each other’s sentences. They’ve always been there for each other, through Raff’s messy relationships and Gaby’s solid support. But now, with Raff’s rise to fame as Britain’s Best Baker (yum!), Gaby’s decided he needs help in the love department. Enter: The Ever After Agency. With Gaby’s blessing, they’re about to find Raff his perfect match.

*Microtropes:* *Best Friends to Lovers*, *Matchmaking Mishaps*, *Unrequited Love Realization*, *Newfound Fame*, *Jealousy Spark*, *Culinary Romance*, *London Charm Meets Seattle Cool*, *Festive Feelings*, and *Slow Burn Sizzle*.

Everything seems to be going great until Gaby starts to feel those telltale pangs of jealousy watching Raff fall for someone else. And here’s where things get tricky: should she risk their long-standing friendship by confessing her true feelings, or watch Raff potentially fall for the wrong woman?

Sandy Barker does an incredible job balancing humor with heart in this festive romcom. The banter between Gaby and Raff is effortless, and their chemistry builds so naturally that you’ll find yourself rooting for them from the first page. Plus, the added element of baking—a little sugar and spice in the form of mouthwatering desserts—is the cherry on top of this delicious love story.

Set against the cozy backdrops of London and Seattle, *Someone Like You* captures the magic of falling in love with your best friend, all while navigating the complications of fame, jealousy, and that terrifying leap from friends to something more.

If you love romantic comedies with lots of heart, some culinary flair, and a festive twist, then you’ll fall head over heels for *Someone Like You*. Sandy Barker’s writing is delightful and her characters are as lovable as they come. It’s the perfect recipe for a holiday read that will leave you with all the warm, fuzzy feelings. 🎄🍰💖

Highly recommended for fans of Emily Henry, Lindsey Kelk, and Mhairi McFarlane!
