The first book was so "Intense" that I didn't think Nomi could make things more dramatic, in a good way, in Tourmaline. But if you add kids to the mix 26 years later, Immortal Passions gives you everything you need in a great soap opera.
With multiple POVs and a long list of characters, many love interests, and plenty of subplots, you don't get bored reading this book. Not to mention all the paranormal things going on! Like, what is up with the green meteor?? And the ending, what a cliffhanger!
I loved the introduction of fallen angels and getting a closer look at the vampire/demon scene in Tourmaline. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series and all the new creatures and monsters we will get to meet.
Alpha /Beta/ ARC Reader Review: (so honored to say that)
This series - Dramatic. Campy. Elaborate. & the most intriguing story line you’ll ever read.
From start to finish, each chapter is designed like episodes of a drama aired on Tv with long chapters, multiple POVs, and deeply woven plot elements.
BUT - it never becomes complex or confusing. Everything connects just perfectly like a spiderweb where answers develop as problems arise. Dont let your aversions stop you from trying this series.
This is my perfect 5 star read. I can picture every character exactly as described, each scene makes perfect sense, and I have no notes on anything.
It’s addictive. You’ll read this almost 600 page NOVEL in a day - you won’t be able to put it down.
& get ready for book 3 - COMING SOON!
After reading the first book, I knew I couldn't wait to read this one. Immortal Passions is the perfect paranormal soap opera, I just couldn't put it down! I love having so many points of views, and learning more about the characters than the first book!
🔮Book Review🔮
Thank you to Netgalley and Nomi Palmer for an arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
Publication: Out now!
Rating: I really liked it!
Naomi’s writing style is addictive and definitely keeps you in the story. I did have a little harder of a time connecting to certain characters but I will have to say that my favorites were Xander/Kamiko and Bonnie/Dakota. Overall, a bingeable “junk food” read especially if you’re a fan of soap operas.
For fans of:

🪬Multiple POVs
🔮Book 2

🔮Paranormal
🪬Gods, witches, vampires
🔮Fallen angel, demons
🪬Fated mates
🔮LGBTQIA+ rep
🪬Long chapters broken up
What a mixture of people, fantasy creatures and gods! Takes a bit for your brain to get around all the characters and creatures but well worth the effort. Plenty of heat, of all types. Bring on the next installment!
I absolutely loved this book for the first page I was hooked and I couldn’t put it down there was a lot going off so it was alittle hard to keep up but it was worth it because of the twists and turns it kept me engaged the whole way through
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC
This is the second book in the series and it's just as good as the first one! This is a fun and easy book. It had lots of fun moments and great cast of characters. You're sure to have a good time reading this novel.
I really like this series it has the action but yet comedic relief. This author always is an interesting read and this book was no exception. I would highly recommend reading the first book before this one so everything connects and little background is needed.
Book Review: Immortal Passions (The Passions Series #2) by Nomi Palmer
Immortal Passions by Nomi Palmer is a whirlwind of supernatural drama, romance, and suspense, set in the enchanting town of Tourmaline. As the second installment in The Passions Series, the novel picks up where Intense Feelings left off, continuing the saga with even more mystery and magic. This book is steeped in melodrama, offering a delightful blend of the sublime and the absurd, with plenty of secrets, forbidden love, and supernatural intrigue to keep readers hooked.
The story centers around a rich tapestry of characters—each with their own tangled fate. At the heart of the conflict is a fallen angel whose descent from The Light sets off a chain reaction. Tourmaline, a seemingly peaceful town with a past of chaos, becomes the convergence point for seers, vampires, hunters, and humans, all grappling with their own destinies. One of the standouts is the “seer without sight,” a fascinating paradoxical figure whose visions shape the narrative’s sense of cosmic determinism. The vampire characters, locked in unrequited love and plagued by deep emotional conflicts, add a layer of romantic tension and complexity. These elements, combined with the presence of a vengeful vampire hunter and a young man struggling to control immense powers, create a volatile yet captivating atmosphere.
Palmer's world-building is one of the novel’s strengths, drawing readers into a setting that feels both familiar and fantastical. Tourmaline's mountainous backdrop is the perfect stage for the clash of supernatural beings and human frailty. The novel balances its high-stakes drama with a campy, almost soap-operatic tone, reveling in the ridiculous while still managing to explore deeper emotional truths about love, fate, and the choices we make.
The plot is tightly wound, with the multiple points of view enhancing the complexity of the narrative. Palmer deftly shifts between characters’ perspectives, allowing readers to see events through different emotional lenses and deepening our understanding of their motivations. The twists and turns are numerous, keeping readers on edge as alliances shift, betrayals unfold, and secrets come to light.
One of the most compelling aspects of Immortal Passions is its exploration of destiny versus free will. While many of the characters are caught in what feels like preordained cycles, there is an undercurrent of rebellion against fate—whether it's the fallen angel’s unknown sin, or the younger generation trying to break free from the legacies left by their ancestors. This tension between fate and choice adds philosophical depth to what could have been a purely romantic, fantastical romp.
As a sequel, Immortal Passions delivers on the promise of Intense Feelings, but it is very much a continuation of that story rather than a standalone read. Palmer wastes no time recapping events, so it's crucial for new readers to begin with the first book to fully appreciate the evolving relationships and plotlines. Fortunately, Intense Feelings is easily accessible, and reading the two books back-to-back is likely the best way to immerse oneself in the drama and magic of the series.
In conclusion, Immortal Passions is a fun, dramatic, and thoroughly entertaining sequel that will appeal to fans of romance and supernatural fiction. It’s a love letter to soap operas, saturated with camp, yet earnest in its emotional exploration of love, loss, and the eternal struggle for control over one’s destiny. Nomi Palmer has crafted a supernatural saga with heart, humor, and enough twists to leave readers eagerly awaiting the next book in The Passions Series.
This is a direct sequel to Intense Feelings so definitely don't try to read this one as a standalone! It is a very strong sequel with everything you loved about the first book while continuing the storyline. The forbidden love and the drama kept me turning the pages to the point I read this in one sitting!
This was a strong sequel in the Passions series, it had that concept that I was hoping for and enjoyed getting to read this entry. The concept worked well together and enjoyed how it continued the story that I was looking for. Nomi Palmer wrote this perfectly and was everything that I was expecting.
