This little guidebook was very helpful and informative? I will definitely be using this information going forward, my social media will thank me for it!
This guide was incredibly helpful and provided information on creating content on various social media platforms. There were a lot of helpful tips—like for instance, crossposting TikTok videos to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. It was easy to read with lots of pictures and aesthetically pleasing charts. After reading this guide, I’m feeling way more confident about creating book content!
It was a thorough and neat booklet for a bookworm like me who plans to have more digital footprints in the bookaholic world. I learned quite many things from it to be able to handle social media.
My only complaint was that there were a lot of texts and sometimes it made me feel overwhelmed. It'd be nice if there were fewer texts/pages.
Netgalley's Social Media Handbook is a fantastic booklet that somehow manages to be concise yet jam-packed with information.
It breaks down each of the main social media platforms, blogging, and review sites such as Netgalley and Storygraph, providing general information, what the book community is referred to (e.g. Booktok) and content strategies. It also has a whole section dedicated to writing reviews and how to adapt them across platforms.
The booklet is really easy to read and navigate through and included links to other useful resources. They even included a section on using Canva and making your content accessible.
If you're someone who makes (or is thinking of making) book content, I'd definitely recommend checking this out!
Really nice and easy introduction to doing social media with book content. This handbook gives a good starting point with a lot of very good resources to start social media, which can seem overwhelming, and with a realistic starting point (start small and expand if necessary) while also giving a lot of good fundamental rules that makes it easier to join in social interactions without overthinking.
as someone trying to grow my online presence in the book world, this was a great read and a great help! i recommend it to any reviewer or person doing the same. the tips for each specific platform was very helpful. thank you!
This was a helpful and easy to understand guide about how to boost my bookish accounts! I will continue to reference information in it's content when I have down time to better improve my personal accounts. I hope in doing these tips I will have a higher chance of receiving arcs from big publishers despite the fact that I am a smaller account!
Love the various handbooks and journals! This is a great handbook to give me ideas about how to post about book reviews. Thanks, NetGalley!
Amazing book! I love all the tips and tricks that it provides. I've always been curious about social media and attempting to have a platform over there and this book helps me to just that!
This was a lovely little handbook which I really enjoyed. Even with being a seasoned bookstagrammer I learnt a couple of new things I didn't know before and so I am really pleased I downloaded and read this handbook. I do wish this had been around when I first started my bookstagram account as it is a perfect "how to" guide for newbies and even also covers other social media such as blogs, YouTube and TikTok in a clear and concise fashion. This is perfect for a bookstagram novice as well as a seasoned bookstragrammer like myself. 5 stars for some great tips!
Great resource for anyone looking at social media and creating an account to advocate for books and bookish things!
THis is a great update to the toolkit. It is laid out really well and has awesome tips for those just getting started, and those looking to get their accounts moving or re-established.
Really appreciated some of the tips in here and look forward to implementing them! There were a few things that I hadn't thought about and I am glad that I read this before really diving into creating a "Bookish" presence online.
"NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook" stands out by offering a practical and comprehensive guide specifically tailored to book enthusiasts who want to enhance their online presence. While many social media books focus on general strategies, this handbook is different because it targets the literary community. This makes the tips and advice more relevant and applicable, helping readers maximize their impact on platforms like Bookstagram and BookTok.
The strengths are evident: for those looking to expand their influence, the platform-specific sections serve as a valuable guide, helping readers understand the nuances and explore what works best on each network. Additionally, the inclusion of tips on maintaining authenticity and avoiding common pitfalls makes it a useful resource, offering practical ways to grow without compromising the quality of one’s content.
However, there are areas where the handbook could be more robust. While it covers major platforms, it doesn't delve deeply into emerging networks or alternative strategies that could be beneficial for more niche communities. Some readers might also find certain sections too basic if they're already experienced social media users. Nonetheless, the book remains a handy starting point for anyone in the literary world who wants to fine-tune their social media skills.
This handy guide breaks down the seemingly insurmountable task of building a following on social media and breaks it into small, realistic and practical steps.
The design and colour scheme are stunning and I like the particular attention given to accessibility.
Really useful guide!
This handbook is quite helpful if you just started your account and not sure what to do.
I use Instagram so I liked the tips that were given there but I might also make a blog so that was useful too!
Great tips. Very helpful for the novice booktoker trying to write reviews and gain more ARC acceptance. Easy to follow guide and I like the printable version.
Good information for starting out their bookish social accounts. Most of this information isn't super new to me, but it was reassuring to know I am still up to date on trends as they evolve often. I did 0ick up some tips that were good reminders, like using publisher provided hashtags. I'm grateful for the reminders to others not to tag authors in anything other than a 5 star review.
Thank you Net Galley for providing this useful Social Media guide. The format was user friendly and easy to follow.
I liked the comprehensive information on each social site with descriptions on what user style each would be most useful for. 10/10 recommend!
This book was extremely helpful and informative. Thank you to NetGalley for providing this guide. I am sure the tips in it will be very useful.
