This is a nice social media guide for new accounts. Good tips and tricks. Things that will be easy enough to implement into my current social media content.
Amazing handbook! It helped me getting some ideas to improve my social media game specially when talking about books! Thank you Netgalley for this amazing guide!
I recently downloaded NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook, and from just one read through I can assure you we have a treasure trove on our hands.
This handbook is the perfect guide in teaching us how to best represent and present ourselves across social media platforms— how to find our voice, discover our niche, and ascertain how to best deliver our thoughts and reviews on ARCs. This handbook is a keepsake— and it’s delivered with such an eye pleasing aesthetic. The engagement in reading was seamless, I began and ended this short handbook with immense focus and determination to uphold all it had to offer.
Can I just shout out NetGalley for including a page devoted to Canva? That is my favorite app to use when putting together content for my bookstagram, and I loved the bit of spotlight it received. The handbook provides a guide on every social media platform, and how to assess which uniquely fits us. It implements strategies for constructing and delivering reviews. And it provides an overview of all the do’s and don’ts in how we engage with and create bookish content.
This handbook is for all of us readers— the professionals to the dedicated leisurely enthusiasts.
The resources, tips, and guides from this handbook is welcomed reading. It really should be required reading for all of us who dedicate time to reading early copies of books. This handbook is a reminder to ensure we aren’t being neglectful of the opportunity we have received and of its immeasurable value. It will help strengthen our writing, finding our voice, and honing focus on our presence across social media.
Thank you so kindly to NetGalley for this complimentary copy, I leave this honest voluntarily.
As someone just starting off on Bookstagram and publishing book reviews on social media, this is such a great guide! I really appreciate the NetGalley team putting together some tips specific to each social media platform, as well as on how to write reviews. The various hyperlinks are very helpful as well, as I would never have come across those resources otherwise.
Love this! So great to help navigate social media as a book reviewer! I like how it breaks down all the different social media platforms.
I've been a fairly active NetGalley reviewer for about 5 years, and I've had a blog for over a decade. While I try to be a good book advocate I (accidentally) quit Instragram earlier this year. I am in a couple of Facebook book groups. I'm always looking for tips and tricks to be a better book advocate.
This brief handbook is laid out in a way that is both logical and fun. It covers all the main social media platforms (including blogging, sometimes I feel so retro). It starts from the most basic ideas, like how to set up social media. This would be good for a Boomer, but also maybe useful for a young person starting out - although I feel like they are born knowing how to use Tik-Tok!
It gives some more advanced ideas, and also - like most We Are Bookish resources - has links to other, more in-depth resources (blog posts, articles and other sources of information.)
All up, a useful resource no matter where you are on your social media evolution, although this would be particularly useful if just starting out.
Thanks for the advice and support, We Are Bookish and NetGalley.

As a frequent user of NetGalley, I am grateful for the Social Media Handbook. It gives tips which help me when I post my reviews to my Bookstagram and Goodreads. The guide is also geared to serve users of several other social media platforms.
The 101 section gives everyone starting points, with tools and tips. I really appreciate the section with review tips and content planning. The handbook is very well organized and visually appealing, with support offered in areas from taking photographs to promoting reviews.
I will refer to this resource often!
I received a copy of this handbook from Book Advocate Resources and NetGalley. My review is my own.

Really useful handbook about how to use social media. Everything is explained in a way that is easy to understand. I especially liked the tips about making social media more accessible as this is something I hadn't really thought about before.
Social media is always changing and it can be overwhelming adapting to the different platforms. This guide breaks it down into simple terms and has made me feel more confident to try new social media tactics.
Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much Netgalley for always give us such great resources to use for our accounts. Shout out to a Greta team, always ready to help us.

Thank you NetGalley and We Are Bookish!
This is such a great resource for book reviewers and those who post about books on social media sites such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc. Although I've been using and posting reviews on Goodreads for a while, I'm newer to doing so on other platforms and really appreciated this helpful guide. The Social Media Handbook offers tips for setting up your account, creating a content schedule, making graphics and videos promoting book content, and so on. Even if you're a more seasoned social media user or book influencer, you might still find some helpful new tips, tricks, and ideas for further improving your posts or helping yourself stand out from the crowd.
Thank you, We Are Bookish for another great guide on how to promote our work on social media.
I found the "NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook" guide to be very helpful and will look into applying the advice going forward!
I really appreciated this guide. I could definitely up my book social media game. This had very practical tips such as how to include images or tagging vs. hashtags. Recommended.
Amazing pointers as always! Took many notes that will be implemented towards my future reviews and platforms
I really love all the materials We Are Bookish creates - whether it's for Camp NetGalley or a Reading Journal or this Social Media Handbook! I'm excited to use it to increase engagement on my Bookstagram and BookTok accounts.
NetGalley's Social Media Handbook is yet another amazing resource! Al the information is presented in a clear and easily digestible way, and it is also very visually appealing! It's clear they've done a lot of research into the various topics they cover. Thank you for the opportunity to read this and review it for free!
A brilliant, easy-to-follow social media guide for book reviewers of all levels. I particularly like that there is guidance specific to different platforms, very handy. Such a useful read for new newbies starting out but still has some good content relevant to anyone who has been reviewing for a while now. Always good to have a refresh and a reminder of things that may have been forgotten.
I appreciate the guide to further help my Instagram! I don't review guides on my Instagram. I believe this is just a formality
