This is a great guide especially for those just starting their journey on social media. Even after being on social media for almost three years I had no idea you shouldn’t use quotes from arc copies! I like that the guide includes you tube because I have been thinking of starting on there. It included some very useful tips.
This is a great, concise PDF of tips and tricks for different platforms and content creation. I think this would be very useful for any number of people who are just getting started or looking to take their various platforms to the next level. I appreciate the format and the different focus areas - with the key being to have fun and share your love of reading with other like-minded friends!
I think the dos/don'ts lists are clear, concise and helpful - and give some food for thought in a few different areas. Thank you NetGalley for creating this handbook for people who are working on their social media presence.
really great overview of all the different social media platforms and how to use them for bookish purposes! i appreciate how organized the content was and found the netgalley-specific tips to be especially valuable.
Very helpful for those just getting started! I was able to double check my basics and pick up some new tips.
Great compact guide with loads of great information. Cover all the social media platforms that I use for my book reviews and personal socializing.
What a great resource for those starting out and also ideas for those feeling uninspired to continue reviewing books across platforms!
I love these types of handbooks. They are so useful for anyone who reads and reviews books on social media.
Ideal for those new to blogging and a few tips for those who have been doing it a while! A reminder never goes amiss! Ideas of posting on different media and how to grab attention to get the most views. do's and don'ts along the way. A short guide suitable for all
This has given me some useful insight, and encouraged me to look into Threads to drive more engagement towards my Instagram profile. I’ll be tapping back into this guide from time to time as there are a lot of good habits and best practices explained.
This Handbook is derived by removing the information on how to set up one's social profile for book lovers from the pre-2024 updated version of “NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit” with a few updates.
I must confess that it's not really my favorite, that of keeping my social profile up to date to make it “increase” or schedule posts, etc., but if someone wants some tips just to get started, I think this is a useful manual.
It is updated not only the content but also the suggested tools for, e.g., taking pictures, etc.
Personally, I find that worrying about keeping my profile up to date makes me lose the flavor of why I made that profile in the first place: to share my readings.
Interesting read! It was good to read all the things that one needs to do to work on their social media game.
Short but very informative guide for anyone who reviews books online. Includes information and tips across different social media and reviewing platforms, including what sites are best for different types of content, how to review books, how to use other tools such as Canva for your content. Loved that some accessibility tips were also included, such as using hashtags as Camel Case (capitalising the beginning of each word, so #ilovebooks would be #ILoveBooks) and not to use special fonts in captions as screen readers can't read these.
A great place to start if you are new to bookish content creation and a nice refresher for those who are more experienced.
Thank you so much for this guide! It’s always super helpful to get additional insight! I have been in a social media funk so this was perfect timing!! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for providing this guide at the right time. I’m just getting started on my bookstagram page and this was a wonderful resource to reference!
Like all of Netgalley's previouly shared resources, this social media handbook was very helpful! Thank you!!
This is such a helpful guide for anyone just getting started in the bookish community! I really liked the platform specific tips; some of these are good reminders for those of us who have been here a while. The enthusiasm creates a good inspirational boost! Thanks so much to NetGalley for creating this!
A great resource for anyone in publication that would like to start to have a social media presence. Really loved the advice and the breakdowns of each platform as well as the assurance that you don't have to be everywhere at once.
The best part was the explanation of needing a strategy that work for you. There's also a section on literacy advocacy and links to other resources with more in depth information about advocacy! Definitely a helpful tool to recenter your goals and utilize the platforms that work best for your creative needs.
While I’m not a BookToker or BookTuber, I am still a consumer of ARC books and wonder whether I’m doing too much or not doing enough to fulfil the book review guidelines for NetGalley and publishers. Is my review too long? Is it too short? Am I leaving out important details? Am I giving out too much information?
This NetGalley handbook for social media usage is easy to read, easy to remember, and easy to reference again and again in the future. I will keep this on hand and refer to it often.
Thank you to #NetGalley and We Are Bookish for a copy of #NetGalleysSocialMediaHandbook.
This is actually really useful and has a lot of important information in it! Perfect for anyone looking to start, or boost their current, bookstagram or booktok account!
Great! Thank you very much for providing us with this free guide on how to enhance our bookish profiles!
