I always look forward to information put out by We Are Bookish. This social media handbook included lots of strategies to use across multiple platforms. This was helpful to me, as I am pretty heavily focused in only one of the platforms. I particularly liked the information on review etiquette, since we want to make review spaces safe and comfortable for all participants in the process. This would be a great place for any new reviewer to start!
Thanks to We Are Bookish and NetGalley for an egalley of this resource for an honest review.
This was very helpful thank you! I think that NetGalley's Social Media Handbook is a helpful tool for NetGalley reviewers
I started a Bookstagram last year and I’m always looking for tips and new ideas to use. I think this handbook is perfect for those starting out. It breaks out different review platforms and gives tips on leaving reviews on each. I’ve been thinking about starting a blog so the section on blogs was helpful. If you are starting out and looking for some basic tips, I would check this out!
A helpful handbook for any book reviewer, whether they're just starting out or have been reviewing books for years. I've been book blogging for ten years, and it never hurts to get a quick refresher. This was also a handy way of learning about different platforms to share reviews.
An updated guide that takes into account the few changes in the social media landscape that have occurred, such as the appearance of new platforms.
It's a lot more precise in describing how to format reviews accross platforms which I found really helpful. It's also really easy to navigate which makes it a book that's good to keep in your shelf to come back to regularly.
I highly recommend this handbook for everyone in the bookish sphere as it's a good way to figure out how to optimize your platforms for reviewing and also for your audience.
I am debating starting a Bookstagram but a little nervous. This had a lot of great tips to get me started! There are a few more details I have to hammer out but those are very specific to me but this was still a great help for the basics!
Thank you Netgalley and We Are Bookish for this handbook! I need all the help I can get with social media.
Another super helpful handbook by the amazing We Are Bookish. This handbook gives the basics about each platform, account creation, and posting. It even goes into detail how to format book reviews across platforms, and how to be successful on bookstagram, booktok, etc. Thank you! I will be referencing this to utilize on my bookstagram!
This is a very solid social media handbook, giving you an interesting look into every space where you can post your netgalley reviews. It offers a basic idea, hints, ideas and recommendations on how to present your images, videos, and texts throughout the platforms and the nuances of some specific platforms. Even if you're already a seasoned reviewer, you might be able to find some valuable information in this handbook.
That being said, I do think the handbook would be more valuable if it offered a bit more indepth information, especially regarding some of the platforms it only briefly mentions.
This is a wonderful resource about social media for reviewing books. I found it to be well organized and appreciated the ideas. Thanks to NetGalley for putting it together.
This new guide from NetGalley contains tips and tricks for various social media platforms. Starting with an overview of the various platforms, it then presents dos and don'ts as well as general and platform-specific tips on profiles, book reviews and post promotion. A recommended read for all bookstagrammers!
This is a good tool not only for novices but for long time reviewers as well. I'm not a review expert but as someone who have been reviewing books since 2013, this handbook gave me fresh ideas on how to grow my reviewing platform and thereby, also helping the authors and publishers. My only problem is that I don't like maintaining a lot of social media accounts as I am a stickler to my blog, Goodreads, and Amazon. I have an 8-5 job with other equally important hobbies so making reels, Tiktok and YT videos would consume a lot of time from my daily schedule. But if you are someone with good time management skills and really enthusiastic about engaging with a lot of people across different platforms, then, read this handbook.
“NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook” is a useful resource for those just getting into book advocacy and also established book advocates.
The concise guide provides tips and tricks for each of the major platforms on everything from video and photo editing to review writing. There are also embedded links to external articles to provide a deeper dive into certain topics for those who want the additional content.
As a newer book advocate, I found all of the information really useful, especially the descriptions of each of the platforms and when they might be best suited to your goals or purpose.
In general, I find We Are Bookish’s guides and resources to be very efficient and easy to use, and this was no exception. It’s a very quick read that I’m sure I’ll reference many times in the future.
As someone who has been on social media for YEARS, I even found helpful tips in here. Whether you prefer being on a blog or TikTok, this little booklet will help you hone in on your individual needs based on what social media you prefer.
love this! It's hard to get find good advice for bookish content, and this covers it all! thank you!
This was a good guide with helpful information but seems to be geared more toward complete newbies to social media. One thing I liked but wish there were was more on is tips for image content on Instagram for book reviews. I read using a kindle and that doesn't make for good images to showcase a book that I have read.
Great resources. Some things I never thought of. Particularly finding my voice. Also I usually tag authors on glowing four star reviews but I will stop now and do only five star. For me a four star means l LOVED IT and I reserve five star for “I will become a book bully and never stop thinking or talking about it” so this was helpful!
Very helpful tips if you're just starting out on social media. If you've been around for awhile, there will be less to glean from this. Thanks for this Netgalley.
Really great overview of book related social media!
Probably super helpful for people, who are not too familiar with it or seem to maybe miss out on something.
It was quite helpful, looking forward to more such great advices <33
The tips are authentic and are carefully crafted based on the needs of different types of reviewer, blogger or author, which was quite helpful!
