Many thanks to netgalley, the author and bookouture for approving my request to read this book.
The Nurses Mistake is the 3rd book of this series and picks up nicely from where the previous book ended.
Once again we follow sisters Darcy and Pippa and this time both are on the run as well as the rest of their family but can they truly outrun what's coming for them?
I enjoyed this book and found this installment of the series saw a much more emotional side of the original book with us seeing just how far the love for peoples family reaches.
I would definitely recommend this series.
In what appears to be the conclusion to the nurses’ series by Daniel Hurst; Darcy and Pippa are back in situations where they must kill or be killed. The way they keep ignoring danger signals and finding trouble can be frustrating at times, but it’s also what makes the story a quick, fun, enjoyable and thrilling read! Reading about Darcy’s experience to right an old wrong, while the rest of the family were on the run, was an interesting perspective! Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for this review.
I would like to start off by thanking Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC of The Nurses Mistake (Prefect Nurse Book 3).
What I love the most about this series from Daniel Hurst is how fast paced they are. I absolutely loved the first one, the second one was ok and with this third one I thought was phenomenal!
I loved the dual POVs and the how the characters intertwined. I always find myself rooting for the sisters despite all the wrong things they do.
I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast paced thriller.
A great thriller! Fast paced and exciting. I loved all the books in the nurse series, but this one was no-stop action. I was on the edge of my seat at the end of each chapter. I feel like the series wrapped up with a bang!
This fast-paced thriller is the continuing, twisted story of Darcy, the killer nurse, and her family. The story was told by Darcy and her sister Pippa, who are both nurses. Darcy, having amnesia from a car accident, doesn't remember what she has or hasn't done but knows she must flee from authorities so she can figure out who really killed her friend. Fleeing Florida to find her family, Darcy arrives at her family's house and finds out they are not there. She doesn't know what to do next or who she can trust, but her memories are slowly creeping back. But will she remember soon enough to find her family and escape the authorities? There are many twists and turns throughout the book that I enjoyed because they were unexpected, and they slowly uncover her hidden memories and why she had to remain on the run. A riveting, hard to put down sequel in the Nurse's series of books.
I would like to start off by thanking Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC of The Nurses Mistake (The Perfect Nurse Book Number Three).
This was my first series of books that I have read from Daniel Hurst after hearing nothing but amazing things about his writing from a friend (Shay!). This is a very fast-paced series that sucks you in from the start. Typically, with a series, I find that I'll love the first book and lose interest during the second or third book. That is not the case with this series! Book one is all from Darcy's POV, I love that books two and three alternate between Darcy and Pippa's POV's to really keep the reader on the edge of their seat and keep them captivated from start to finish.
Darcy was once a nurse prior to experiencing a car accident and being diagnosed with amnesia as the result of her accident. In the previous book, Darcy killed someone from her past in self-defense to save herself. With Darcy's amnesia and short-term memory loss, her younger sister Pippa was worried that Darcy would be arrested for the crime. Pippa helped Darcy get away and Darcy started fresh in Florida with no memory of her past and only a notebook from her sister with pictures, names, and her relation to her mother, Scarlett, her father, Adrian, and her sister, Pippa. This notebook included two important "rules." 1: Don't watch the news. 2: Never return home to Chicago.
When things go awry with Darcy's new life in Florida, she decides it is time to return home and find her family at last. What she doesn't realize is that her sister, Pippa, has committed a crime to protect Darcy's secret and her entire family is on the run and hiding out at a cabin five hours away from their homes in Chicago.
In this book (and the entire series), you will find it is packed full of twists and turns, not knowing who can be trusted, and as with every good thriller, murder.
How far would you be willing to go to protect your family? Read this series to find out just how far this family is willing to go to protect their secrets.
The Nurse's Mistake by Daniel Hurst is the third book of The Perfect Nurse series, though I think that it could be easily enjoyed as a standalone novel.
Sisters Darcy and Pippa are on the run. Darcy is alone in Chicago trying to recover pieces of her memory that have been lost, while Pippa seeks refuge in a remote cabin with her parents, husband, and young son, Both are in danger, and desperate not only for answers, but to find their way back to one another.
Having read the first two books of the series, I was more fully invested in this one than perhaps someone who is only meeting these characters for the first time. Did the author leave an opening for a fourth installment of this compelling series? You will have to read it to find out.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
kinda meh thriller, it doesn't seem to have much passion or emotion put into it. it might be better if i had read the previous two, so if you have and like it don't let me warn you off. But i found it meh. 3 stars. Tysm for the arc, might not recommend.
My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Nurse’s Mistake’, The Perfect Nurse Book 3 written by Daniel Hurst, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Following a car accident Darcy Miller has had limited memory of past events and relies on a notebook given to her by sister Pippa to remind her of family members. The third part of this series starts with Darcy as she travels on a bus across the country to Winnetka, Chicago, to her family’s home, all the time trying to avoid the police. But they no longer live there as Darcy’s notoriety has forced them to run, but they’re still determined to somehow find Darcy and protect her.
I’m a big fan of Daniel Hurst’s novels and have been looking forward to continuing the story of nurses Darcy and Pippa. ‘The Nurse’s Mistake’ is told through the eyes of the two sisters and although it’s kept me gripped, it’s so far-fetched it’s lost some of its credibility. There’s plenty of suspense, drama and twists I didn’t see coming, and the tension steadily increases the further I read, but it’s so unbelievable with Darcy especially taking unimaginable risks that I don’t think could possibly happen in real life. But despite this, I’ve still enjoyed finding out how things end for Darcy in particular, and it’s still an exciting well-written thriller that the author’s fans are sure to love as much as I have.
It's no secret that I'm a huge Daniel Hurst fan, devouring every book of his in record time. And it's not often a favourite author disappoints but I'm sorry to say that this book was just a step too far in the killer nurse saga. I enjoyed the first book, and the second one was an interesting follow-up. But this one was just a little too far fetched and drawn out that I spent most of it shaking my head.
The action kicks off as Darcy boards a bus in Florida, fleeing after killing Parker at the end of the previous book after he had kept her and his ex-girlfriend locked prisoner in the basement of his home. Armed with the the notebook her sister Pippa had written for her to jog her memory at every turn and still wearing the nurse's uniform she used to gain access to the hospital Parker was in, Darcy flees Florida to return home to her family, not knowing that they have fled after things heated up for them in Chicago.
Having suffered retrograde amnesia after a car accident a couple of years ago, Darcy has no idea who to turn to who to trust or where to find her family.
Meanwhile, Pippa and co have headed to Montana to an abandoned holiday camp only to find the cabins are not completely abandoned after all. From the first moment they arrived, Pippa has found herself with the sense of being watched. Are they safe where they are? Or is someone out there watching their every move, ready to hand them over to the police and claim the $50,000 reward leading to their arrest? How will things end for the sisters and their family?
Despite it being far fetched and not one of his best, this (hopefully) final installment into the killer nurse saga was still fast paced with snappy chapters that I was still able to devour it in quickly. And unfortunately I was relieved to reach the end. I really do hope this is the last in the series as I feel it really has more than run its course.
Hurst is renowned for his fast paced snappy writing style with far fetched storylines that can be over the top but are still an entertaining read nonetheless. He continues to throw twists at his readers with his addictive writing style, though I didn't really see many twists in this one. OK maybe one. But it was still kind of expected in this case.
Again, not one of his best but that won't stop me reading more of his books. I have loads of them on my kindle waiting for me to read them but I just have so many books on my TBR list! Hahaha... Still, can't wait to see what he has in store for us next.

The Nurse’s Mistake is the third book three in The Perfect Nurse series by Daniel Hurst.
Continuation from the last book, Pippa and Darcy are on the run. Darcy returns to Chicago where the notebook says her family live. She is slowly getting her memory back by having flashbacks of her previous life. Her sister Pippa However and with the rest of the family are hiding in some abandoned cabin after a fatality happens in the aftermath of her sisters’ troubles. Hoping that she will find her sister soon.
Darcy goes to see her old college Professor to see if he can help her, but it has an opposite effect, and she get into more trouble. While the Police are getting nearer to finding her.
This is another thrilling read from the author that had me engaged throughout and I enjoyed the conclusion of it at the end. 4 stars
I have not read the other books in this series so my review is based on this book as a stand alone. I liked the author’s style of writing but the book did not “grab” me. The storyline was good but the ending was rather disappointing.
This was a good book, fast and easy to read. It’s the third in the series, I haven’t read the first two, but that wasn’t a problem. I didn’t feel like I was missing much backstory. I’ll definitely go back and read the series from the beginning now, however. One thing that bothered me was that the book was set in Chicago, but read like it was set in the UK. The way the characters spoke, their word choice, and the spelling of many words was definitely not American. There was nothing specific at all to Chicago so I just replaced Chicago with London in my head and it made more sense to me. I’m a nurse and the characters’ identity as nurses seemed a little over the top. The medical references were really vague, like the author hadn’t done any research. Their father was a doctor, he had no advice to give, and seemed superfluous. He may have well been a landscaper. I don’t regret reading it as a diversion, and as I said, I will go back and read the first two books.
I really enjoyed this book which is the third book in the series. It starts with a very interesting prologue that had me interested from the very start with an ending I wasn’t expecting. I enjoyed the entire book and would love a fourth book if possible.
The Perfect Nurse. Book 3
I never meant to hurt anyone. I'm a nurse, it's my job to help people. But sometimes in life things happen that you don't expect, and you're pushed to extremes. I can't let anyone find out what I've done.... or why I did it. If the secrets of my past come out then it's not just my life that's at risk. It's my family too - darling little Campbell, just five-years-old and completely innocent. I have to protect him. I can see blue lights. Uniforms. Police. I pray they're not here for me. Because killing the doctor isn't the only thing I've done. My third mistake was something much, much worse.
Darcy is still suffering from amnesia she got as the result of a car accident. She is now fleeing Florida to try and reconnect with her family.
Filled with twists, turns, lies, secrets, and murder, I was fully invested in this book. The story is told from Darcy and Pippa's perspectives. The pace is fast. We also get family sacrifices and loyalty. The characters are well-developed. Pippa is struggling to keep her marriage together. I recommend that you read this series in the order they were written in, this book can't be read as a standalone.

Darcy is on the move! With the police after her and her family, she is trying not to get caught looking for them. Her family is hiding away in cabins that are no longer used. Will she make it to them? With flashbacks happening, she ends up at her old college. Hoping her professor will be able to help her. But instead, he’s no help at all. Meanwhile, her family is trying to get away from the cabins. There were lots of twists and turn’s. I was shocked by the ending. Another great book by Daniel! Thank you so much NetGalley, Daniel and Bookouture for the ARC!
This started off right where we left off in the last book. I love when a book continues, it was a page turning..
fast paced and very entertaining. The first two books were so good and I’m so happy to know this one was just as good.
I love the depth of this book; it showed how strong a family can be when things get complicated.
The Nurses Mistake by Daniel Hurst
This is the third installment of the perfect Nurse series by Daniel, and I just have to give the highest kudos to this author. Every book is amazing and holds my attention to the fullest! I love the characters and the storyline what a great escape to chase after this incredible story!
I just can’t say enough about this author and the ability to suck me in with every story! I loved it!

The Nurse's Mistake Daniel Hurst
5 stars
The final episode in the Nurse's story.
This is the third and final instalment of this story starts with both Darcy and her sister Pippa on the run form the police. Darcy is on her own trying to find her parents, her sister Pippa and her brother-in-law and nephew. However she does not know that they are also on the run as Pippa has now almost committed murder in an effort to save her sister.
Pippa and her family have managed to find an isolated cabin and they are hiding out there in the hope that they can reconnect with Darcy. This story is really aboutr how they re-connect and deal with all the murfers that have been committed by the two sisters.
As always these books are so easy to read and I finished the book in a few days. The story of the fates of Darcy and her family is bitter sweet and makes you think about how some people actually deserve their fate. I would recommend reading the first two books to get the full story of nurse Darcy and Daniel Hurst has now become one of my favourite authors.
