This was a exciting page turner for sure. I didnt want to put it down, I actually lost sleep because I was up reading, I just had to find out what happens next, I highly recommend this series!
Third installment of the Perfect Nurse series. Darcy is heading back to Chicago. Another excellent book from Daniel Hurst. I don't know how he keeps coming up with these stories but they are all of the same high standard. We have got to know the family well by this book and we are following with bated breath. Another bestseller I believe. I would recommend this book to all.
Thank you Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The third book in the Perfect Nurse series by popular author Daniel Hurst is The Nurse’s Mistake.
Nurse Darcy is back…..
Darcy and her sister Pippa are on the run after the fateful events previously.
Trying to avoid authorities while in hiding and seeking the truth.
But things always happen when the nurses are involved….
A reasonably good read.
I do suggest reading the first two books before reading this, as it does follow on.
While I enjoyed it, it’s probably the weakest one out of the three.
Short on suspense and twists, there’s no real surprises here.
It seems as though it’s wrapped up with a nice little sneaky ending…..
Let’s see where Daniel goes next…
SUCH a good series and secretly hoping there will be a book #4! I loved the POVs from both Darcy and Pippa — really felt connected to both characters. Daniel Hurst’s books hook you from the very beginning and he has a very creative style of writing — perfect for fans of Freida McFadden!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
We are back with sisters Darcy and Pippa, as they are both on the run due to the murders they have committed.
Darcy is trying to get back home, where she believes her family all are, but that’s not as easy as it sounds when you have amnesia.
This is the third book in the series by this author. A compelling plot that sucks you in from the very first page.
There are plenty of twists and turns along the way. Overall, an enjoyable and entertaining read.
My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Daniel Hurst once again had Me hanging on by thread. It's a nail biter. I was not disappointed. I absolutely love this but I think this is my favorite by him. . It takes you down a rabbit hole I guess I can say..
The Nurse’s Mistake is the third book in this series. As usual there was some twists I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed this book along with other two in the series. Daniel Hurst has done it again!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!
This is the third book in The Perfect Nurse series by Author Daniel Hurst and I think they are all equally great! In this book, nurses and sisters, Darcy and Pippa are both running from the law. Lots of exciting things take place in this book as they try to keep a step ahead of the police. I am hoping there will be a fourth book in this series
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
This is the gripping, unputdownable third installment of the Nurse trilogy. Nurse Darcy Miller is accused of multiple murders. She is the victim of retrograde amnesia. As she finds herself the object of national media coverage and experiencing confusing flashbacks, she tries to make her way across country in search of her missing family. Darcy faces capture at every step. Her family, also on the run,, must evade their own capture. This is an amazing story! I HIGHLY recommend it. The characters are well-crafted and the plot is solid and fast paced.
The Nurse's Mistake:
A roller-coaster of a read. With intrigue, atmosphere, and action in equal measure.
The author does an excellent job of stringing us all along on this final leg of Darcy Miller's journey; keeping the storyline fresh and twisty all the way to it's conclusion.
A strong finish to an excellent series. 4 stars
Usually when I read a series i find that the second and third books are not as good as the first book but for this series it's not true. I have been invested in this series and it doesn't disappoint.
As much as I should not like Darcy because of her misdeeds I actually like her. I enjoy this character.
Twists and Turns throughout and i was on a wild ride the whole time. A definite recommend. I also suggest you read The Perfect Nurse first.
Thanks Bookouture and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and isn't influenced by anyone else
I have absolutely LOVED this series! And although it had a good final ending, I am secretly hoping that there is more.
Darcy has committed murder, has traumatic brain amnesia, but is making her way from Florida to her hometown in Chicago.
Darcy’s sister, Pippa, and the rest of the family (Pippa’s husband – Karl, son and their parents) are headed to forest to runaway from the murder that they committed or were an accessory to.
Darcy is such a likeable character, that no matter all the bad and crazy things she has done I was cheering for her. The author does a great job of giving enough background on the storyline, but you’ll want to read the entire series in order.
I did not put this one down until I turned the final page. So good. It’s one of those series that you wish you could read again for the first time.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Thank you #NetGalley for the complimentary copy of #TheNursesMistake in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you @bookouture for the approving my request. ❤
Jaw on the floor, I was hooked from the first page!!! Now I gotta get the rest of the books in this series!
This was my first encounter with Hurst’s work, and it introduced an interesting aspect: one of the main characters struggles with her memories and her past actions. This parallel between the character’s journey and my own experience as a reader, not knowing her past, added a unique layer to the reading experience.
While the book was a solid read, I found the plot twists to be rather predictable, with subtle developments that didn’t particularly surprise me. Nonetheless, it was an engaging introduction to Hurst’s series, and I appreciated the straightforward storytelling approach.
The Perfect Nurse trilogy is my favourite Daniel Hurst series so far and I loved “The Nurse’s Mistake”, which is book three. It would work as a standalone, but the history from the first two brilliant books really makes this one a standout thriller.
As with all of Daniel’s books, this book is packed with tension, drama and great storytelling. The main characters, sisters Darcy and Pippa, are both nurses and are both now on the run. Darcy is alone, except for the notebook she uses to write down everything, due to a brain injury that has affected her memory, while Pippa is hiding with her husband, her son, and the girl’s parents.
Darcy has some memory flashbacks which lead her to a college professor who she remembers and knows she can go to for help. Meanwhile Pippa and the rest of their family become inadvertently caught up in another crime!
These are good people who just keep getting caught up in bad circumstances! As they try to reunite, clear their names and avoid capture, the fast paced action doesn’t let up! I hope there is more to come!
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Sisters Darcy and Pippa are back in this third explosive installment of THE PERFECT NURSE series. I can't stress enough that this is NOT a standalone! You should definitely read the first two books to get the plot events in order because there are a lot of moving parts.
The sisters are separated and on the run. Darcy is still struggling with memory issues, and Pippa is struggling to keep her marriage together. But then a shocking turn of events makes Pippa's former plea of "I did it to protect my family" suddenly hit home with her husband.
I know when I'n reading a Daniel Hurst book that I'm guaranteed to have a good time. The plot was wild, and you'll have to suspend A LOT of disbelief, but this was a thriller with heart. I really enjoyed the themes of loyalty and family that were interspersed throughout. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this early read. At the time this review was written, this title was expected to publish November 5, 2024.
I have read and loved quite a few of Daniel’s books and this was no exception. The 3rd in the Nurse series and a good story that gripped from the start. I think it is best to read them in order to get the back story. I hope this isn’t the end of this series so please write another one.
The Nurses's Mistake by Daniel Hurst is another fast paced book.
This is the 3rd book in the series. I'd recommend you read the first two books first.
First book is The Perfect Nurse
Second book is The Nurse's Lie
The third book is The Nurses's Mistake.
Really good series and will highly recommend.
A brilliant follow on from the previous books. This was tense and exciting and I couldn't put it down until I found out what happened to the sisters! A fantastic ending too. Loved it!
This book continues the story of Darcy and Pippa, two nurses who are sisters. Both are guilty of murder and are on the run, but Darcy is alone, trying to return to her family, while Pippa is with her parents, husband and young son. Darcy believes that if she can return to her family home, she may find clues as to the whereabouts of the rest of her family and reunite with them. All Darcy has to help her is a notebook containing her home address, and the names of her family. Darcy had been injured in an accident and lost a great deal of her memories, but has been having some flashbacks recently.
Having read the two previous books in this trilogy, I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Darcy next. The plot was as gripping as the previous books, with twists and turns galore. A great psychological thriller, I was sorry when I finished this trilogy.
