Omg this was so fun and cute and silly and everything I love in an Alicia Thompson story (including Publix). It might be short and sweet but it packs a powerful romance and mystery punch. I had a genuine smile on my face the entire time!

I love Alicia Thompson so much and was so excited to see her become part of this new series but man I was so bored. Maybe it’s just because of its length but I really didn’t care about anything that was happening and zoned out through majority of the story

I love a good short story collection.

Particularly, when there’s a good theme throughout.

I love a good grumpy-sunshine trope. There was just enough mystery and just enough romance to make this a satisfying read.

Thanks to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for this mini-ARC.

This was a really fun short story - my favorite of the collection! I liked the fate and romance components and the light mystery aspect. The way it all wrapped up was so fun. The audio narration worked well for me, too.

Overall this was a really adorable quick story! I went into expecting a bit more of a mystery/thriller sort of story, which it was for the most part but I definitely wasn’t expecting this to lean so far into romance based on the description. But, I guess knowing the author and what she typically writes, I should’ve expected that.

I loved the idea of the FMC caring so much about a stranger and being observant enough to know his peanut butter preferences because I totally relate to that. I feel like I notice odd things about strangers like that and I could easily fit in the FMCs shoes in this short story.

So cute! When a friendly octogenarian disappears, film buff Audrey investigates, despite the warnings of the grumpy business owner she’s crushing on. This clever, fun, and romantic short mystery brightened my day. I enjoyed the audiobook narration.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Love the “play” on words in the title (see what I did there!?🤣😂). This one is a good mystery that I liked right away and rings true to the busy body vibe in this series with a splash of romance.

A Classic Case by Alicia Thompson is part of Busybodies - a collection of short, quirky mysteries.

I was unfamiliar with Alicia Thompson so I was excited to check out her writing. A Classic Case was cute, but definitely not my favorite from the Busybodies series. It was more romance than mystery, in my opinion. A cute story but it didn't grab me as much as the other Busybodies stories.

3.4 rounded down to 3.

Another quick, one-hour long mystery audiobook from the upcoming ‘Busybodies’ collection releasing Oct 15.

In this installment, Audrey notices the elderly customer she sees every Wednesday at the old-timey video rental shop in town doesn’t show at his regular time and takes it upon herself with the help of the cute and broody rental shop owner to find out whats happened to Mr. Hoffman.

The story was entertaining and had a little romance mixed in. A nice bite-sized palette cleanser. I really enjoyed the narrator too!

Thank you to the author, Brilliance Pub, NetGalley for the advance listen.

Cute! I love the idea of making friends at the video store with the regulars. This was more of a romance than a mystery to me but I did enjoy the writing. I don’t know why I always expect someone to die in a mystery. This was a nice way to keep me guessing without a dead body.

I really enjoyed this story! The side romance plot there was just the perfect amount of grumpy/sunshine and tension. It gave me little butterflies while also trying to figure out where it was going.
