Very cheesy and perfect for a holiday read. Fun and magical. Spirit of Christmas is really brought out by the end!
4 stars ⭐️ This was a fun holiday read! I enjoyed it!
Thank you so much to NetGalley providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this book. My first by Melissa but not
My last definitely. I love rom-coms so much and this
is one of my favs now too. I loved how she wrote dual
POVs of FMCS and their stories are so beautiful to
read. All the tropes mentioned are perfectly executed.
The chemistry, banters, sweet moments and a hint of
suspense in romance were fun to read. I loved all the
characters.
If you’re looking for a festive read to cozy up with this holiday season, Holiday Wedding is the perfect pick! This enchanting story blends mystery, romance, and holiday cheer, creating a delightful experience from start to finish.
The dual POV format is a personal favorite of mine—it draws you in and keeps you hooked as you navigate both characters' perspectives. The banter is sharp, the chemistry is sizzling, and the sweet romance combined with a touch of suspense adds just the right amount of tension to keep you turning the pages.
I adored the grumpy x sunshine dynamic—it’s executed flawlessly here, making it impossible not to root for the characters. The holiday vibes are on point, wrapping the whole story in a warm, cozy glow.
I highly recommend Holiday Wedding to anyone who loves heartwarming stories with a sprinkle of intrigue and plenty of festive charm. It’s a fun, feel-good read that’s sure to make your holiday season brighter!
Before you start this, you should read the first book of this series first. This is a standalone but reading the previous book first will make your reading experience better.
Overall this was a nice holiday read with a touch of mystery- suspense and spice. The main characters and their friends were likable. I enjoyed it and this was quite an easy read for me and I just binge-read it.
This is an ARC read which is exchanged with an honest review.
I really enjoyed this ARC! Not only do we dance around the back story of a holiday wedding but there is quite a bit of intrigue and mystery that is being solved. I have to say, I thought I had it figured out but it was a surprise in the end.
The buddy cop, sunshine/grump, frenemies to lovers combo this dished out was very fun to read.
I also have to say that people may feel it is a “holiday story” given the premise and title but I think I’d enjoy this as a cozy winter mystery romance all winter long.
Also I did not read the debut novel first but would really like to now that I’ve enjoyed this book! But I don’t feel like it was imperative to read the first part to enjoy this as a standalone.
Dymond is quickly becoming a favorite author for when I just want to escape. It's way better than watching trashy tv! I get the drama and romance and spice in her novels, including in the Holiday Wedding. I really enjoyed the introduction of new characters and how they quickly became a huge part of the series.
Fun holiday read with a little spice! At first it’s like a cute Hallmark Christmas movie, but then it takes a bit of a turn. I ended up really enjoying this book more than expected!
Holiday Wedding by Dr. Melissa Dymond is a delightful holiday romance filled with warmth, love, and the magic of the season. A perfect festive read to brighten your spirits!
3,75⭐️. Thank you NetGalley, publisher for the ARC of Holiday Wedding.
I had so much fun reading this. It’s full of spice, suspense, lots of swoony moments. I especially enjoyed reading about Jenny and Dean...the whole bodyguard romance combined with forced proximity was the highlight of the book for me.
A perfect holiday and winter novella!!!
Thank you so much Netgalley for this great read!
It definitely was a great wedding chaos with the mystery elements and I loved every second of it !!! It's extremely delightful and spicy read!!
solely based on the cover, i went in with the mindset, "oh, another cheesy christmas romance." boy, was i wrong - in the best way.
this book is giving: romance, SPICE, mystery, holiday vibes, and a million great tropes.
i was invested in the main characters -a normy in a relationship with a celebrity- and yet became even more attached to the side characters' relationships because i could see myself in them! everything that could go wrong, did; however, everything turns out the way it was supposed to be. so happy gwen and calebed end up together; still, my heart was with jenny and dean.
when i started this review, i thought i'd be giving it 4 stars. then i realized there wasn't anything about this book i did not like. it gave me everything i need in a holiday novel and MORE! i cannot thank the author, Melissa Dymond, enough for providing POVs from the other characters. this was such a fun bonus. also, you included a game!? as a reader, this was so exciting. i cannot wait to read more from her.
i didn't realize this was a sequel, but needless to say, i will be going back for #1. Thank you to Dr. Melissa Dymond, Melissa's team, and Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review! Melissa, you are one to watch!
Unfortunately, I couldn’t connect with any of the characters and DNF’d at 20%
There were a lot of dated details in regards to the wedding planning. As a wedding photographer, it was glaringly obvious that the author didn’t research current trends and what traditions are no longer being selected by majority of brides and grooms.
I didn’t care for the MMC’s demeanor and the BFF seemed a little too close to him. The FMC not understanding the gravity of attention she’d receive from his fans/media was not believable. I’m sorry but if this guy is THIS famous of an actor, the paps are able to spot his girlfriend day one. They’re engaged and she just starts getting noticed? That just doesn’t make sense.
Overall, it fits the bill for a quick and cheesy holiday rom-com. The author’s writing style is quick and easy with short chapters. I might not have been the best audience for this one since I’m in the wedding industry and have a sad streak of not loving the execution of holiday romances. If you’re into rich guy/smart girl, this would be a good one to pickup.
I buddy read this with my three sister-in-laws and we all felt similarly.
Thank you to NetGalley, Mellisa Dymond and Victory Editing for providing me with an ARC.
I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.
Is there anything better than a wedding at Christmastime? That is of course if everything runs smoothly. That’s not the case here. A blizzard, a stalker and other chaos creates some obstacles but this is such a fun one!
Thank you #NetGalley and #victoryediting an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you’re looking for a steamy holiday romance with a hint of suspense, this book delivers just enough to keep you entertained. The festive backdrop of twinkling lights cozy, romantic mood, while the sizzling chemistry between the main characters cranks up the heat.
The story follows a Hollywood star and his doctor finance whose whirlwind holiday fling is packed with passion, witty banter, and some heartfelt moments. Just as the romance begins to bloom, a suspenseful twist disrupts their holiday plans adding an unexpected layer of tension to the plot.
While the chemistry is undeniable the suspense element feels a bit underdeveloped. The danger doesn’t fully integrate into the story, coming across as more of an afterthought than a driving force. Additionally, some of the character development felt rushed, leaving certain motivations and backstories unexplored.
That said, the book’s charm lies in its escapist holiday vibe and romance. If you’re in the mood for a quick, fun read that blends seasonal cheer with a dash of drama, this might just be the perfect addition to your winter TBR list. It’s not without its flaws, but it offers plenty of entertainment for fans of holiday-themed romances.
This is my first book by Dr. Dymond, but it won’t be my last! The story follows two love stories with alternating POVs from best friends Gwen and Jenny, and while it’s part of the Holiday Romance series, it works just fine as a standalone.
First thing: shoutout to the beautiful artwork included throughout the book—it added a nice festive touch to the holiday vibes.
Gwen & Caleb’s Story:
Gwen and Caleb's relationship is swoon-worthy, and you can feel the chemistry between them right away. Their romance had me rooting for them to get their happy ending, despite a few hiccups. Overall, their connection was undeniable, and I loved the emotional depth between them.
Jenny & Dean’s Story:
Jenny and Dean's dynamic was the real highlight for me! The bodyguard romance combined with forced proximity (hello, one bed trope!) was the perfect mix of tension and steamy moments. The added suspense of the stalker plotline kept me hooked, and I couldn't put this part of the story down.
Overall, Holiday Wedding is a fun, heartwarming read with just the right amount of Christmas cheer and romance. A perfect pick for a cozy holiday escape!
This is the sequel to Holiday Star which I read earlier in the week. I loved that we got the continuation of Gwen and Caleb's story however it was the relationship between Jenny and Dean which was the focus for this book. This relationship was not super obvious from the beginning however once I got wind of this then i was invested and was fully behind the two of them getting together. I was not sure how this was going to turn our but I was glad that it did work out.
@melissadymondauthor delivered again with this sweet, spicy and cozy story. I absolutely loved reading Caleb and Gwen (round G flat N 😉) live story in Holiday Star but I enjoyed it even more in Holiday Wedding!
Melissa does an incredible job at mixing romance, steamy and mystery. Holiday Wedding had a little bit of everything including mental health rep, PTSD. These topics add so much more depth to the characters and story.
And speaking of characters, the side characters are always so interesting! Wayne and Alvina?!??? I absolutely loved them so much Melissa… especially Alvina with Gwen. They have such a beautiful friendship and connection. It was very beautiful to see.
But what I loved the most about Holiday Wedding that was so unique was Jenny’s (Gwen’s bestie) POV and her own love story. Although I would have no problem having a book just for Jenny and Dean- they were so cute!!! The banter, the chemistry and the snow in… perfection 🤌🏽. There were times where my heart broke for the two of them- and I was so happy to see how they leaned into each other 🥹.
So Mama, I know the holiday season is over but make sure to check out Holiday Wedding (and Holiday Start, Book 1) to your TBR this season! 💫
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
“Holiday Wedding” by Dr. Melissa Dymond is a delightful holiday romance that masterfully blends love, suspense, and festive charm. The story follows Gwen and Caleb, a couple navigating the complexities of wedding planning amid unexpected challenges, including a blizzard and a mysterious stalker. Simultaneously, readers are treated to the evolving relationship between Jenny, Gwen’s best friend, and Dean, Caleb’s bodyguard, whose enemies-to-lovers dynamic adds depth and excitement to the narrative.
Dymond’s use of dual perspectives allows for a rich exploration of both romantic storylines, offering insights into the characters’ personal growth and the strengthening of their bonds.
