I had the chance to read this as an ARC. The beginning had me hooked because I was interested in what will happen. I enjoyed the book but when I think of thriller I want a more fast paced more twist, for me this just wasn’t what I had imagined when I read what this book was about. This was a first for me from this author but I’m interested to see what else they have out there. I think since I’ve read many other thrillers I have a certain expectation when it comes to reading them. But I would still recommend reading this if you find it interesting when reading the book description.

I'm sorry to say that Waking Up in Vegas just didn't do it for me. The Hangover-esque premise intrigued me and I was excited to read the female equivalent of the famous Vegas movie. Told in dual timelines, we follow the misadventures of five women on a bachelorette weekend trip where one of them disappears and no one remembers anything. One narrative is the night unfolding, and the other is the women piecing together the previous night.

I found the writing incredibly repetitive. The writer mentioned "the scent of expensive perfume" so frequently it was making me laugh. The middle of the story dragged with the same descriptions of Vegas nightlife and "this is going to be a night we'll never forget" statements before the women (haha!) forget everything. The ending was ridiculous. Overall, I found nothing thrilling about this thriller and got bored quickly. Maybe a younger reader or someone who's never been to Vegas would like this story.

I personally wouldn't consider this book to be a physiological thriller. The book overall was a good read. It was a little hard to keep track of which day it was at times.

This is my first read by J.E. Rowney. Waking Up In Vegas had me intrigued from the very first chapter and to be honest, I couldn’t put it down. The switch between last night and this morning kept it an interesting and fast paced read. I did find some of the dialogue and themes a bit repetitive, but overall I really enjoyed this book and would give it 4 stars!

This is a crazy ride about five girls who awaken in Vegas one morning after Jess's bachelorette party. Jess is in a bathtub full of ice and Rachel--her maid-of-honor and party planner--is handcuffed to Alex.a man who works at the Bellagio where they are staying. None of the women remember anything about the night before and they must piece together the events that landed them in this now-trashed hotel room before check-out time. Pieces of the night are recalled: an exclusive club called Cherry Pop, a flash drive in a purse, a credit card maxed out, the magician named Marvolo, and "the man in the hat knows." It's a race to the end as the women's memories slowly return and they realize they have each learned something about themselves.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

This book was a major let down, and the writing was so repetitive I had to make sure I did not accidentally go back a page.
If I read “a night you’ll never forget” one more time I would have DNF.
Also, the ending was less thriller and more weird than anything else.

Such potential with a major letdown on all avenues.

Waking up in Vegas.
The first chapter of this book had me wanting to find out what on earth happened to these 5 girls that arrived for Jess's Bachelorrette in Las Vegas and had me wanting to know where this story was going to go.

It has The Hangover vibes to me

This book had an interesting concept and made me excited to dive in. From the beginning, it was very much "The Hangover"-esque, but the female version, where Jess wakes up the night after her bachelorette party and her friends and her need to figure out what exactly happened the night before. The book alternates uncovering the details the day after and from as the night progresses, making the reader want to continue to read on. The ending and unfolding of the book was definitely my favorite part, it was a completely unique way to end the book that I would have never have guessed was coming, and the ending left me continuing to think about the book. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, it was a good plot, the beginning and middle of the book just dragged a bit at parts, and there was a little too much uncertainty pushed on the reader in the beginning parts.

I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for a chance to read this ARC for free in exchange for my honest review.

This book alternates between two time points: “last night” and “this morning.” A bachelorette party gone wrong leaves the attendees with no memory, a missing girl, and a mess to clean up. From the beginning, it’s clear that Miles, who is described as overpowering in the relationship, is the main antagonist. The entire bachelorette trip turns out to be an orchestrated experience where the girls are gaslighted into believing specific events happened when they didn’t—all masterminded by Miles. I wasn’t a fan of this book.

This started well, a group of women enjoying a few days in Vegas.
It then started getting a little tedious, same comments repeated over and over, endless descriptions of bars and VIP passes.
When one of the group just vanishes why wouldn't they just ring the police?
I had to finish just to see the outcome but by then i was just irritated.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Not great for me.

This story reminded me a lot of The Hangover from the start. It’s a story about a group of girl friends who go to Vegas for a bachelorette party and the ultimate Vegas experience. It was planned to be a night they would never forget… It is well written and the perfect amount of mystery, suspense, and twists. I was sucked in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!

I would give this 10 stars if I could! I love the movie Hangover, and this is a genius way to portray it in a thriller! Five friends on a bachelorette weekend in Vegas. What could go wrong? This was a fast paced, intriguing story. The characters and setting are described so vividly, I felt like I was right there in Vegas with them, trying to piece together what happened. Loved the storyline about their friendship and all it entails. This is a must read, you should rush to pre-order this now! Release date October 25th. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this

Thank you BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an early copy of Waking Up In Vegas. The title got me, sounded like it could be similar to The Hangover movie. Started out very good, got weird and very unbelievable. Jess was a bit much, thinking who she was at moments and how many times was she going to say how happy she was being with her best friends, WE GOT IT THE FIRST TEN TIMES!!!! I did like reading both time lines simultaneously, that was the best part of the book. All in All a 3 star.

Thanks to the author for this arc. First of all this definitely gives The Hangover vibes right from the beginning. Rachel is painted to be Jess’s best friend who is the one who arranged the bachelorette party for her. Rachel is very suspicious and acts weird on both timelines, past and present. The past is the night before when they party so hard they end up getting into a lot of problems the next following day. Rachel is “missing” and the girls try to find her. There are some pretty good twists but it isn’t like gone girl to me at all really. I wanted more thrilling but it was pretty crazy at the ending like dang. I recommend, this was a fun read. I just wish I was a bit more twisty and crazy.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Jess and 4 of her friends head to Vegas for her bachelorette party. A wild and glam night awaits. Then they wake up and things have gone wrong, and Rachel is missing without trace. With no memory of the night can they find her?

The story is told reliving events of the night, alternating with the morning after. It’s exciting and glamorous and the ending completely unexpected. I enjoyed the friend ship of the girls and could imagine being on the night out. This was a good read and kept me hooked until the last pages!

This was a pretty good book! It was about a bachelorette trip in Vegas with the bride and her 4 friends and we get lots of secrets and mystery while they’re on the trip. It becomes a mysterious story where you don’t know who you can trust or what is about to happen. I think it was entertaining!!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc.

Friends go to Vegas to celebrate Jess getting married. What started as a normal bachellorette party weekend goes into more mystery and intrigue. The characters try to figure out how they got in the situation. I found the ending quite strange but perhaps that was what the author intended.

Waking Up in Vegas is a frivolous novel detailing the adventures/misadventures of five girls going to Las Vegas for a bachelorette weekend to celebrate the upcoming marriage of one of the friends. Despite their friendship, this is a disparate group of women and the tale is not wholly believable. I will be state that it is compulsory to continue reading to uncover what actually happened during this “girls” weekend celebration and I thank NetGalley and Little Fox Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.
