Can book club be dangerous to one’s health? 

Here we are, picking up from where things left off in book 4, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice but with Finlay and Vero back home. If you have not read book 4, the relevant parts are weaved into this story so you don’t feel like you missed anything. Good thing too since it has been several months since I read book 4 and hints had everything coming back.

In this book, we get treated to more of Mrs. Haggerty the neighborhood watch neighbor who seems to like no one. She moves in with Finlay and fam after her release from jail when the cops couldn’t prove she had anything to do with the body they found in her yard. Of course, Finlay and Vero are on edge because they have secrets of their own and are unsure how much their neighbor knows.

Cam is back and has some of the most humorous moments in the story. Unlike the other books there are fewer of those moments and witty comments. If I had to guess it is because of all of the emotional drama involved.  Though, I will admit The Eggplant still has me chuckling (you have to read to find out what I mean, it may or may not be what you're thinking).

For those of us who are big fans of the series and have read every book, we are treated to a couple of old favorites - Julian and Sylvia - which enter in true Finlay crazy style.

This was truly an enjoyable read and I can wait to listen to it when it comes out in audio form.

This was fast paced and as good as the first one. I'm not sure how Finlay put it all together because I didn't know what was happening. It was set up for a fifth book so it will be interesting to see what happens next. I could see this being a series one day. I love the comical aspect of all the crimes and mishaps.`

I loved finally getting to see more of Nick (including his past), and his relationship with Finlay. Getting more scenes with him was so needed.

It was fun, so mysterious. But not only did this book have for Nick/Finlay scenes, it also had a deep dive into Mrs. Haggerty. In Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, we got to see the competitive badass Mrs. Haggerty. And in this book we got to see the many many layers of her. The good, the bad, the genuineness, the badassery, and the love that Mrs. Haggerty has for Finlay. Throughout the series she has never appeared to have been fond of Finlay, but in this book we see that the opposite is true.

I always enjoy reading a saga of Finlay Donovan. I continue to read this series because it never fails to keep me guessing, and I'm perplexed how the characters always find themselves in such hilariously ridiculous situations. I find the characters have a lot of depth and are well-written. This book isn't even out yet, but I'm already impatiently waiting for the next development.

Finlay Donovan is such a great book series--I love having an active series that I can share with my mom. I am excited to see where the author goes with the series. I think she made the right move in moving away from the Russian mob plot and I prefer seeing Finlay solve more local or smaller mysteries, and I hope the author continues in this direction.

Just when you think something can’t get better…it does. Finlay’s newest adventure gives so much more! More in depth characters. More romance. More dead husbands. More laughs and more tears! I think this is my favorite installment after book one. There is a great deal of growth for every character, including those we’ve only had a glimpse of before. And that cliffhanger! I sure hope Elle Cosimano can churn out the next book quickly. I can’t wait to read it. Did I mention that you really should read these books? You really should.

I've loved following along with Finlay's crazy adventures and in this newest story we get to see the growth of her and Vero. (Both personal and criminal growth) They've come so far from book 1! It was such a treat to spend this book with more of the side characters we've only seen bits and pieces of previously, and I have a new appreciation for Mrs H. As always, can't wait for the next book after that cliffhanger! This may be my favorite after book 1.

In the latest installment of the Finlay Donovan series, a body has been uncovered in Mrs. Haggerty's (also known as Finlay's nosy elderly neighbor) backyard. Suddenly, Finlay's ex-husband, Steven, becomes the prime suspect in the murder and it’s up to Finlay and Vero to find the true killer.

The Finlay Donovan series is one of my all-time favorites for lighthearted fun, and this book did not disappoint. After the first four books focused on mobster-related mysteries, this one was a refreshing switch-up. This novel had all the elements we’ve come to love about this series including fun and hilarious side characters and a fast-paced plot. After being a little bit disappointed by books #3 and 4 in the series, this one put me back on the Finlay Donovan train and I can’t wait to see what adventures Finlay and Vero get themselves into in the next book!

Just when you thought Finlay may get a few days of peace and quiet.....the police find a body in Mrs Haggerty's back yard and the neighborhood is SHOCKED!!!!! Book #5 in one of the most entertaining series you can find. Each book centers around one of the central cast of characters and their involvement in a crime....or two or three.....but the story is never as clear as that. Finlay finds herself in the unusual position of having to defend her ex-husband against murder charges. Yes, the ex-husband who is not anyone's favorite character. Just when Finlay decides that her life is the most screwed up in the neighborhood, she's surprised to learn the truth. Another great 5 star read that went way too fast.

I continue to read this series because of the sheer ridiculousness of the situations these women find themselves in. It is hilarious and entertaining and I love how well the characters are written. After reading the epilogue I am in dire need for the sixth book. This series has become my comfort read and it never disappoints.

This is one of my favorite series of all time. There are always so many twists and turns that keep you engaged throughout the story. The friendship between Finlay and Vero continues to be my favorite thing about the stories. I just love their dynamic and bond so much and I cannot wait to find out what comes next for them.

Book 5 in a series, and I still loved it?? It is hard for me to love every book in a series but Finlay and Vero's wit is just so great. And Mrs. Haggerty stole the show this book, and I was not sad about it!!

I love the Finlay Donovan books and this one did not disappoint! Finlay's nosy neighbor, Mrs. Haggerty, has been arrested for murder! But when she is cleared, Finlay's ex suddenly becomes a suspect because of an anonymous tip to a podcast. Finlay has no great love for Steven but she also does not believe he is a murderer. She and Vero team up to clear his name. Plus they are both working through issues in their romantic relationships.
Delightful fun, as always. While lighthearted, the book does deal with some deeper issues. And it is a bit of a cliff hanger.

I just love this series so much! Another fun adventure with Finlay, Vero, and our new ride or die - Mrs H. This book got me out of a reading slump and I’m so thankful for that. The only negative I can say is that I inhale these books and now have to wait another long while for the next adventure!

This was my favorite Finlay Donovan in a while!

Just as quirky as expected with Finlay & Vero, and less outlandish as some of the past books. A few new additions to the island of misfits, such as an elderly neighbor, and the return of favorites, with fun friendships, shenanigans, and Officer Nick… Already excited for Book 6!

Its amazing g and wonderful! I can't wait for more. She's a great author. Finlay the character goes through some crazy shenanigans

Finlay is back as she once again tries to help her ex- husband. He has been accused of murder and Finlay, along with Vera, sets out to prove his innocence. Along the way, she tries to keep her secrets from Nick, but that is becoming harder as he starts to question Finlay about everything.

I love this series and I love to read how Finlay and Vera get themselves in and out of the most ridiculous situations! Finlay has a great thing going with Nick and I pray she can keep him. I wasn’t sure this book could hold up to the previous books in the series, but it has just as many laugh out loud moments and even more swoony Nick moments.

"Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave" is a delightful and entertaining read that will leave you smiling. Cosimano's witty writing and the charming characters make this a truly enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

The Finlay Donovan series is one of my favorite series of all times! I laugh out loud every time I read Cosimano’s novels!! This one is no exception!!

Finlay and Vero find themselves in a bit of a pickle again as a body is discovered in the next door neighbors (Mrs.Haggerty) yard! After Mrs. Haggerty is cleared from the suspect list she has to temporarily move in and that is where things take a turn for the worse!

This book has everything- nail biting, laugh out loud, closed door romance, and some fell good moments! Highly recommend! Add it to your TBR!!
