Thank you to NetGalley and the
publisher for this arc!

One thing I love is reading thrillers where the main character never makes the best decisions. In So Happy Together, our main character Jane is on the unhinged side by basically stalking her ex she went on 6 dates with and his current girlfriend. She constantly acts in a manner that is obsessive over him. She has delusions over Colin and what he feels for her. She is constantly misreading everything. She is an infuriating main character, and I love that so much for this story. Flawed characters are big for me.

I really enjoyed the plot of this story. Going from obsessively stalking someone and thinking you know all of them to discovering they have hidden dark secrets is not something I have read before in a thriller, and I really enjoyed it!

The pacing of this book is pretty good. I like that we spend time learning about Jane's past with men and her psyche regarding them. It was a good addition to the book. Also the way she just write about the inner thoughts of Jane was very impactful. The writing was immersive and I felt like I was being brought into the very messed up mind of Jane.

Thie book was really high on the elements of women wanting to take power back for themselves and other women. I love how Jane and Zoe both came together and showed their ability to be bad together and separately. They're both very flawed and messed up, but that makes them the ultimate duo. I really enjoyed the way this book ended and how Jane discovered something daunting near the end but didn't mind. This book really touched on female power.

Overall, 4 stars!

Jane is your typical twenty-something in NYC, swiping through dating apps in search of love. When she meets Colin—a charming, Shakespeare-quoting software engineer—she thinks she’s finally found her person. But after six dates and one night together, Colin ghosts her, and Jane spirals. What follows is a chaotic, borderline delusional quest to win him back, which includes stalking, manufactured “chance” encounters, and even befriending his new girlfriend, Zoe.

Then things take a bizarre turn: Colin’s roommate is found dead, Colin is holding the murder weapon, and the plot veers wildly into thriller territory, though not convincingly. The story’s pacing is uneven, characters feel one-dimensional, and many plot points (like a random trip to New Jersey) add little value. Jane’s behavior borders on disturbing, and Zoe’s motivations never fully land.

That said, Worley’s writing style is strong and engaging. There’s definitely potential in the concept, but the execution left me feeling like something essential was missing. I wouldn’t buy it, but I might recommend it to someone who enjoys messy, over-the-top thrillers with more drama than suspense.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced reader copy of So Happy Together. I’m grateful for the opportunity to read and review this engaging, twisty thriller ahead of its release.

I really enjoyed this book! It was quite fast paced and kept me captivated relatively well. I did feel that at points it felt like the plot was lacking and had some plot holes/issues with the way the story was set up, but it was very minor!

Jane meets Colin and thinks they are perfect together, but he breaks it off after six dates. she runs into him with another woman, she decides to break into his apartment, but what she finds isn't what she expected.

This was a fast paced thriller about a delusional girl who falls in love with a man she met online after 6 days ! After “running into him” on a date with someone else she finds herself secretly etching her way into his life. The amount of twist and turns were great but I feel like at some points it was confusing and formatted a little weird (like certain chapters are placed out of order and would flow better differently) .

Overall , I enjoyed reading this and was hooked ! If you like Freida McFadden books you may enjoy this one !

Thank you to Netgalley, MacMillan Publishing, and Olivia Worley for this e-ARC.

A book about obsession that I'm now obsessed with. Every time I thought I knew where it was going it completely threw me through another loop. And that ending?! Mind blown 🤯

Oh i enjoyed this book.

I thought I had an idea of what was going to happen. But nope I was so wrong. I love when this happens!

Every time I thought I knew what was happening, I was extremely wrong. What a tale of crazy twists and turns to the point I had no clue what was going to happen next and what I thought would happen...wouldn't. I had no idea who Jane would pick in the end, nor would I have guessed. This is such a tale of unrequited love, perfectly captured love bordering on obsession, and what happens when you take a chance on yourself.

Jane had a few dates with Colin when he breaks it off with her out of the blue. Jane over very much obsessed with Colin and is a very delusional young lady. When she sees Colin on a date with his new girlfriend Zoe, she becomes even more determined for him to see that they are meant to be. Lucky for her, Zoe wants to be her friend which allows Jane to weasel her way back in to Colin’s life. Snooping through his bedroom one day leads to finding quite the surprise and this is where things take a dark twist and she realizes Colin may not be the amazing man that she has made him out to be.

The main character, Jane, had me so annoyed for the majority of the book! I had to keep reminding myself that she is in her 20’s and doesn’t know better yet when it comes to guys and love. I was pretty sure that I had the twist figured out and I did but that didn’t take away from the book. It was still a page turner and I didn’t want to put the book down.

Thank you, St. Martin’s Press, for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

3.75 ⭐️

I thought the overall concept of the book was interesting. It’s clear that Jane is a bit unhinged and therefore her perspective is skewed and not fully reliable, which adds to story and makes it even more entertaining. The whole time I was wondering what was actually the truth and where things were going to go. There wasn’t a bunch of twists and turns nor was the ending anything mind blowing, but I still enjoyed myself while reading this. It was a fun relatively quick read that was well paced with interesting characters and an entertaining storyline.

Jane met a boy that made her heart skip a beat, made her think of happily ever after and the future they could have...then that boy dumped her and Jane was beside herself. Why would he just walk away? They were meant together... and she has to find a way to convince him of that.

So Happy Together is a thrilling tale of obsession, secrets, lies and murder. In this one we follow Jane, a woman who thought she had found it all and was on her way to a blissful future... then lost it all in the blink of an eye. Now she finds herself confused and willing to do almost anything to get that possible future back. Even if it means stalking him and seeing just who he is spending his time with now, and to see what she has that Jane herself doesn't. She is determined to get her man back, no matter the cost!

It's a thrilling little ride that is destined to keep you on the edge of your seat!! Highly recommend you take a chance on it!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Enough mystery to keep you guessing and a shit ton of crazy to keep you interested.

When I started this I thought it was more of a You gender swap but I was wrong…

I know the friendship between Jane and Zoe is based on lies but was nice seeing their friendship. And I always love women supporting women!

I was really hoping to give this one at least a 4 but it just didn’t quite get there for me. I loved all the lies and secrets that were abundant throughout the book. I could not figure out who was telling the truth. But once things started to be revealed it just seemed a little too weak of a plot to be the answer.

Thank you to NetGalley for this arc!

So Happy Together
This book had a good start but it really was quite confusing and it moved strangely too slow and too fast at the same time.
Jane believes she’s found the love of her life. Colin does not. After he ends it with her, Jane basically starts to stalk him and eventually his new girlfriend, Zoe. When Jane and Zoe’s paths cross, they begin an unlikely friendship. Zoe believes Jane is just an old college friend of Colin’s and she has nothing to worry about. When in fact it’s always Jane’s main objective to get Colin back. But then Jane discovers some disturbing things about Colin.
The book goes back and forth between Jane and Zoe with Colin and your left to try to figure out who’s really the bad guy. Unfortunately, for me it was hard to get into and follow.

After six dates, Colin breaks it off with Jane, but she’s completely unhinged and thinks he’s actually obsessed with her. Jane ends up discovering some unsolved secrets about his past and it’s all twists and turns from there. The ending wasn’t what I anticipated, which is always a plus. Giving this 3.5 and rounding up. This comes out in June and I got this as an ARC on NetGalley. Also, ignore the cover. It doesn’t match the story at all.

So Happy Together was a cute read and one that was ultra enjoyable, but I don't know how memorable this will be in the long run.

I really wanted to love this more. I really enjoyed the character development and the introductions of each character and trying to figure out where the story was going. The main character is flawed and frustrating, but I was invested in her story and how it played out. However, I did predict the ending and it was not so much of a twisty thriller that I was hoping for. Didn't love it but didn't hate it either. I would definitely read other works by this author. Thanks to St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books for the eARC!

Olivia Worley's So Happy Together is a gripping psychological thriller that masterfully explores the depths of obsession and the facades people maintain. Set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, the story follows Jane, a 24-year-old aspiring playwright who becomes fixated on rekindling a brief relationship with Colin, a software engineer. When Colin moves on with Zoe, an emerging Brooklyn artist, Jane's determination spirals into a dangerous game of manipulation and deceit.
Worley's portrayal of Jane is both unsettling and compelling. As an unreliable narrator, Jane's descent into obsession is depicted with chilling clarity, making readers question the boundaries between love and delusion. The narrative's tension is palpable, with unexpected twists that keep the pages turning. While some plot developments stretch believability, the story's pace and psychological depth compensate for these moments.
The novel's strength lies in its character development and the intricate web of lies that ensnare the trio. Worley's writing is sharp, capturing the nuances of modern relationships and the darker aspects of human desire. Fans of thrillers that delve into the complexities of the human psyche will find this book hard to put down.
In conclusion, So Happy Together is a dark, twisty tale that offers a fresh perspective on obsession and the lengths one will go for love. It's a must-read for those who enjoy psychological thrillers with morally complex characters.
