“Because we understand what makes life and death so beautiful: they can both be under our control, if we’re brave enough to take it.”

So Happy Together is the story of Jane, the girl who falls too hard too fast. When the guy she’s seeing abruptly ends things, Jane thinks it’s just a blip, and she’s going to prove to him how perfect they are together. The only problem is that he’s now dating Zoe, and calling her his girlfriend.

Many, many cringeworthy moments follow, at every turn Jane is making choices that are on a razor’s edge of working out or turning her life into a catastrophe. The amount of time I spent cringing and reading in a frenzy to see it resolve was probably bad for my heart - but it was amazing for my soul.

I absolutely loved this book. I devoured it in a day, only stopping to sleep and work (sigh). It was so compelling and so well written, I just couldn’t stop. “One more page” turned into “one more chapter” turned into “I’m not making dinner, I have to finish this book.”

The twists are so well placed I felt like I was on a roller coaster for the last third of Worley’s story, and it was worth every single minute. I’ll be emphatically recommending this book to everyone I know, and will definitely be reading more by this author. Perhaps a sequel?

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books, and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book prior to its release.

Thank you to Netgalley, MacMillan Publishing, and Olivia Worley for this e-ARC.

So Happy Together is a book about obsession, and the fine lines between love and control.

In New York City, we have Jane, a playwright who becomes fixated on her ex-boyfriend Colin, a guy she dated for only a couple of weeks. When he ends their short lived relationship and begins seeing Zoe, Jane's obsession gets even more intense.

She befriends Zoe in the hopes that her mere presence will be enough to win Colin back and prove they are meant to be together.

As the story goes on, we learn a lot about Jane and her upbringing, and potentially why she is so obsessive.

Throughout the story, Jane is unsure of who she can really trust. Is Colin lying, or is Zoe? Is one of them an abusive, controlling murderer, or a jealous, obsessive friend? Or is Jane the one we should be worried about?

This was definitely an edge of your seat book. I raced through every page and couldn't wait to see who was the real culprit.

At the beginning, I thought this book was compelling, but a little bit standard. Then, it became anything but. It's rare that a book really makes you question everything any character says, leaving you with no one to trust and with the only choice to be to enjoy the ride. That's what this book does. By the end, I was rooting for things to happen I knew were wrong, and as confused as anyone what was right. A great page turner, and thriller. Fans of You will rejoice.

Jane and Colin are in love, he just can't admit it to himself. Even if he's done something bad, Jane knows him, and knows they're right for each other. But what did he do? And did he do it at all? As Jane befriends his new girlfriend Zoe and immerses herself in his life, no one can know who is predator and who is prey.

thank u netgalley for the arc! i love a toxic female friendship, but it took 25% of the book to get anywhere besides whining. i did enjoy it but by the end of the complaining and waiting for the other shoe to drop i ended up skimming the majority of the end. i had fun though!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this upcoming book. It definitely sucked me in and kept me turning the pages throughout. The ending wasn't my favorite and it wasn't wrapped up enough to my liking but overall it was an interesting read. It's more of a low 4 or 3.5 due to the end of it. I'd still look to read more from this author in the future.

I had a very different idea of what this book would be going into it and I was pleasantly surprised. The story was very well written and being inside Jane's mind through the whole process was fascinating and frustrating! You can easily see how she fixates on something and then can take the wildest concept or truth and twist it to fit what she wants it to be. I couldn't get enough of it.

There were so many times I wanted to reach in the book and just shake her and tell her to move on. This book would make an excellent thriller movie!

It was a wonderful and exciting read!

I really liked this dark, kinda romantic, super creepy thriller by Olivia Worley. The first half of the book definitely reminded me of You by Caroline Kepnes. Our main character Jane is convinced that Colin is the love of her life... even though he broke up with her weeks ago and is dating a new woman. Jane stalks Colin's favorite bar until she "happens" to run into him with his girlfriend Zoe, and then inserts herself back into Colin's life, much to Zoe's delight. (Jane and Zoe share a love of Ophelia.) Is Jane totally delusional or is Colin secretly pining for her just a little bit? When Jane realizes Colin may have a dark past, she's more convinced than ever that they are meant-to-be... because Jane has some dark secrets as well. She just needs to figure out how to get Zoe out of the way -- unless Colin gets rid of her first. And then the twists begin.

Without giving anything away, I found the second half super satisfying, if not a little improbable. I really enjoyed the makeover movie montage, Thelma & Louise, dark academia/theatre vibes.

So Happy Together is a fictional mystery thriller book. I believe it had potential to be a great 5 star read, it just lacked in certain areas. I feel like the characters in the story were weird and the story was all over the place. It revolves around a girl named Jane, who starts becoming obsessed over a guy named Colin. Personally, I feel like Colin’s character lacked depth in the story. The location is set in New York City. Jane and Colin go on dates, then he breaks up with her. However, Jane will stop at nothing to get him back!

This book does come with twists and I did find this book to be engaging! Be sure to read the content warnings before reading this book. Overall, I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars. I found it to be a reasonable read.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Olivia Worley and St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books for this digital advanced reader’s copy in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you, St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books for providing the copy of So Happy Together by Olivia Worley. I love Worley’s books because they are interesting, easy reads. The story was fascinating, and kept me furiously turning the pages. The characters were odd. Jane was delusional, and while her crush on Colin was believable, her insistence that he secretly loved her wasn’t. She acted like a teen, not a 25-year-old, so it was hard to relate to her. Zoe was a whirlwind and Jane's new best friend which didn’t feel realistic either. I figured out what was going on, but it didn’t lessen my enjoyment of this fun book. 4 stars

The plot is really weird. The characters are even weirder. I wouldn’t say they’re 25 years old—based on their behavior, they seem more like high school kids. At the beginning of the book, I honestly wanted to stop reading because the main character seemed so irrational.

After finishing the book, I was left wondering—why didn’t the police question anyone after the murders? I mean, someone was killed in your group, and everyone just casually went on a countryside trip?

And then there’s the way people are described: “white,” “white straight guy,” “Asian.” Why not actually describe their appearance—skin tone, features, anything? I can’t tell if these are just the thoughts of the main delulu character, or if the author always describes people like this in all their books.

Overall, I’d give it a 4 out of 10

So Happy Together by Olivia Worley is a book about a female stalker.

For Jane, finding love in New York is even harder then making it as a playwright. So when Jane meets Colin, a software engineer she becomes obsessed with him.

Colin breaks off their relationship after 6 dates, but Jane thinks this is just a small hurdle. but then Colin starts dating Zoe, a social media influencer, Jane knows she is a better match for Colin then Zoe, she just has to prove it. But when Jane sneaks into Colin's apparent she makes a discovery, one that involves them all in a web of secrets, lies and murder.

I liked the overall idea of story but found it hard to read, there seemed to be a lot of random characters and side quests that do not add to the story. It's a fun read but hard to sort out at times.

Thank you Olivia for working with NetGalley. I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

If you had told me this book was written by Freida McFadden I would have believed you. Honestly, it was an entertaining enough psychological thriller, and fans of the genre will enjoy it. People who aren’t fans of Freida McFadden-eque twists and turns… probably won’t enjoy this any more than they enjoy her books.

Jane is a girl who obsesses over Colin, a guy she had a short relationship with, and plots to get him back and make him realize he’s in love with her. She befriends his new girlfriend Zoe but together they uncover parts of his past he’d rather keep hidden…

There’s really nothing that stands out too much as making this book very bad or very good. It was a fairly average thriller which wasn’t too hard to read through, and the plot throws in enough twists that it doesn’t drag too much. The writing was clean and if I ever needed an easy diversion I’d be happy to pick up another book by this author.

The description for So Happy Together drew me right in and I could not put this down. It’s an easy, fast read that hooked me from the beginning. The writing is good and the story is engaging. It was on its way to being 4-star but the story was just a little too far fetched at the end. I still recommend it for anyone looking for a solid, fast, entertaining story.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Minotaur Books for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

Jane’s recently been dumped by Colin, claiming they were moving too fast. But Jane’s convinced they’re meant to be, so if that means she’s finding any way to put herself in his orbit again…no big deal, right? But there’s one hitch in her plans: Zoe, his new girlfriend.

However, the hitch in her plans turns out to be the perfect in. Zoe’s intention of striking a friendship with Jane pulls her back into Colin’s life. And sure, she’s being a little stalker-y, making copies of his apartment keys and going over there when no one’s home…but it’s for the greater good of their relationship. At least that’s what Jane believes.

It’s only when she discovers something that implies Colin may have some skeletons in his closet that Jane is forced to reckon with the version of Colin she thinks she knows, and the very real, very flawed version that she doesn’t know if she can accept.

I got a chance to read Worley’s last book thanks to NetGalley, and I’m glad I got to read her latest! I don’t read much new adult fiction, but I loved Olivia’s last book, so I wanted to give her latest a try. Needless to say, I devoured it in less than eight hours.

This book, unlike “The Debutantes”, features a single protagonist, and the book is solely in her POV. It takes place in NYC, and focuses on young twenty somethings dealing with the newness of adult life. What I really enjoyed was that the book had an excellent pacing. It never felt like the story dragged, and I was interested and invested every step of the way.

The comparison to “You” was accurate, because Jane reminded me of Joe from time to time. And just like Joe, our protagonist attempts to convince us (and herself) that the object of her affections is not a flawed person, not really. But we see the way she eventually has to contend with the truth behind the person she loves, and how she chooses to act on it.

I loved this book to its’ final pages, and I cannot recommend it enough!

I received an ARC of this book from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback.

The book's premise and twists were quite unique. Ms. Worley definitely gets points for something new and exciting. It kept my interest throughout; the writing was catchy and entertaining.

Jane is a bit unbelievable. Or maybe I just prefer to think there is no one really like her. It is sad to fixate on someone so thoroughly after just 6 dates.

I was expecting something twisty near the end but didn't predict exactly what it was.

I enjoyed the NYC setting, as I am pretty familiar with the area, and I always like being able to truly understand aspects of a setting. Examples - when Jane goes on the subway 3 times and it's an "MTA nightmare" - Colin paying at least $2000 for his share of apartment rent - Brooklyn thrifting not exactly being cheap.

Ms. Worley always does justice to pop culture references, as well.

This book had my brain doing flip flops trying to figure out who was off their rocker the entire time. Do I want Jane and Collin together? Do I want Zoe and Collin together? Do I want Zoe and Jane to be besties? I kinda was second guessing my opinion on the relationships between the characters the whole entire book until the last chapter. This book was a really fun time. I will be recommending it to my reader besties.

Jamie. Girl. There's a fine line between manifestation and delusion and I think you tripped over that line a long time ago.

That being said, I loved how unreliable everyone in this book was. Between Single White Female vibes, a frank examination of the toxic dating scene and ghosting, blatant gaslighting and some dark family history, this had me absolutely hooked. Jamie was so over the top with her devotion to Colin that it made me viscerally uncomfortable and all that much more invested in the narrative. The fact that Jamie was all in for Colin after only six dates even though he's given her no reason to be lead to a wild ride.

I also loved the blooming friendship between Jamie and Zoe. Even though they were both using each other for different reasons, it felt like they were actually becoming friends. I think the build up of their friendship made the art show that much more shocking. The ending being slightly ambiguous was a great touch!

Thanks Netgalley and Minotaur Books for providing this ARC to me!
