If you think love is chaotic, So Happy Together shows just how wild obsession can get when it pretends to be romance.
Jane, a struggling playwright in NYC, meets charming Colin and believes it’s fate. But after just six dates, Colin bails, and Jane decides not to give up. What starts as heartbreak spirals into obsession, especially when Colin begins dating perfect Zoe. Jane feels compelled to save him from what she sees as the wrong relationship, and things quickly escalate.
When Jane breaks into Colin’s apartment, she uncovers a shocking secret that turns the story into psychological horror. If you loved You or Gone Girl, you’ll be hooked.
Worley captures the modern dating scene, loneliness, and how easily obsession can masquerade as love. So Happy Together is a darkly feminist cautionary tale about love, delusion, and justifying the unforgivable. Buckle up—it’ll keep you guessing and won’t let go.

✨Twenty-four year old Kate is having a hard time with the fact that shes been dumped after 6 dates, for she thought things were going swimmingly with Colin. She will get him back. She knows she will.
✨Kate decides to plant herself in Colin’s wake every chance she gets, but is humbled when she spots him with new girlfriend, Zoe. Zoe with the fantastic bod and supermodel face. Zoe the Tiktok influencer. Zoe the boyfriend stealer.
✨When someone from Colin’s past resurfaces and a murder slowly starts being uncovered, a more sinister game is at play, and Kate and Zoe are only the chess pieces being moved in the larger scheme of things.
✨I love books with a distorted view of reality and unreliable narrator, which this 100% is. This gave me Kepnes’ “You” creepy vibes, and Megan Collins’ “Cross My Heart” fatal attraction desperation in a perfectly wrapped bundle. I flew through this and you will too! A must read for summer!

So happy together, is mystery book of obsessions and revenge. No other person can be your Ophelia. This book will keep you reading into the night

This was a pretty quick read once you got past the beginning which was a little slow. It was a good thriller and it gave off “You” vibes.

I loved both of Worley’s YA novels, especially The Debutantes. Her adult debut does not disappoint!
Jane is such a flawed main character and also extraordinarily complex. Yes, she wants Colin and will do almost anything, overlook just about anything, to get him back, but, she is also not lacking in empathy. She genuinely likes Zoe and doesn’t want her to be hurt. The dynamic between Zoe and Jane was my favorite part of the novel - one a New York It girl, the other just trying to find and hold on to love, whatever it takes - the definition of opposites attract. It was fun to see how their bond evolved as the plot progressed.
I thought Worley did a great job conveying every character’s interests and motivations. There’s so many twists at the end that elevate the story all that much more. This book is definitely one you’ll want to add to your list!

I really really wanted to love this one. But. I could not get into this at all. I struggle and struggled to pick this one back up.
Sadly, just wasn't for me. Thank you to St. Martin's for my copy.

This author has been hit or miss for me. I liked the debutantes but I didn’t like the people we follow. Unfortunately, this one didn’t really hit for me either. It was really confusing and the reveal didn’t do it for me.

This book was intriguing and kept my interest, but it felt like it was trying to have too many twists and turns and at a point, it started to get a bit repetitive. Worley always makes her MCs dynamic, both someone to root for and against, but it felt this MC her weakest so far. Jane was unfortunately really difficult to like. I also know she was trying to make a feminist statement at the end, but it got lost in all the twists.

3 1/2 ⭐️
This was a quick, fun read despite the characters not being particularly likeable. I think everyone in this novel needed massive amounts of therapy at the very least!
I enjoyed the unreliable narration and the plot twists. It was interesting to have the obsessive stalker trope turned on its ear a bit, and the author did a good job of laying out breadcrumbs along the way. Not a book that will change lives or be on anyone's top ten list, but if you're looking for a fast-paced thriller with a unique spin, this one is worth a read.

An excellent read for any and all readers! Author comes at you with both barrels and knocks you out of your shoes! Great job fleshing out all the characters. I give this book FIVE stars! Definitely recommend!

This gave major “You” vibes! It was a bit slow to start, but eventually picked up and I finished in a day. I recommend to anyone who loves a good stalker story.

Aspiring playwright Jane is devastated when Colin breaks up with her after their sixth date. Jane will do anything to get him back, starting with stalking him and befriending his new girlfriend Zoe.
The object of Jane’s obsession isn’t extraordinarily, which might be part of the author’s point. Colin simply shows interest and thoughtfulness and Jane is hooked, but given her lack of friends and family, the little he gives adds up to a lot to Jane. Her deep desire to rekindle her relationship with Colin is delightfully cringeworthy.
The witty writing, like when Jane tries to imagine how her latest date ended up with a name like Axel, fits with her persona as a creative. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Jane’s roommates, but we do get a nice dose of Colin’s friends, particularly his roommate Ben. A few things stretched my ability to suspend disbelief, but they were necessary to pull off all the fun twists.
Learning the backstory of each character shed light on their motivations. I enjoyed the nod to TikTok tarot readings and how Shakespeare’s Hamlet comes into play in the story. New York makes the perfect setting for this twisty thriller.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My first Olivia Worley book & I really enjoyed it!!
This was the definition of unreliable narrator & had me hooked from start to finish. Also, the main character Jane, was totally unhinged & I just loved it, it made for a very entertaining read! I was screaming at her for her decisions yet was so invested in what she was going to do next.
Overall, a great read & I can’t wait to read more by this author!

3.5⭐️ rounded up . I found this book to be a little slow for the first half but it does pick up in the second half. I felt that Olivia Worley definitely got the crazy, obsessive, stalker like ex-girlfriend character down pat. This book did have some unexpected twists I enjoyed.
When Jane meets the love of her life Colin, she knows they are perfect for each other even after he breaks up with her, she knows she can get him back. When Colin starts dating a new girl Zoe , Jane befriends her to get closer to Colin and to prove to him that they are the ones who are meant to be together. Jane finds an unexpected discovery about Colin that leads to a web of lies, secrets and murder.

Dating Apps and Delusions: A Dark Love Story
Ever wondered how far someone might go for "true love"? Olivia Worley's debut thriller "So Happy Together" answers that question in the most unsettling way possible.
Meet Jane, a struggling playwright in New York who's convinced she's found her soulmate in Colin, a software engineer. The catch? After six dates, he's not interested. But Jane can't - or won't - accept that. What follows is a spiral into obsession that'll make you rethink every dating app match you've ever had.
Worley's genius lies in making Jane both captivating and terrifying. Through her eyes, we watch innocent romantic hopes morph into something darker, all while New York City looms in the background like a silent enabler - its crowds offering the perfect cover for stalking and its dating scene providing endless opportunities for delusion.
The book races forward in sharp, quick chapters that feel like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You know something horrible is coming, but you can't look away. Worley, drawing from her Northwestern theater background and New York residency, nails both the city's lonely heart and the theatrical tension that builds with each scene.
Sure, some late-game plot twists stretch belief, and a few side characters could use more meat on their bones. But these are minor gripes in what's otherwise a masterclass in psychological suspense. Worley weaves in commentary about modern dating, consent, and gender dynamics without ever stepping onto a soapbox.
If you liked "You" or "Promising Young Woman," you'll devour this book. Just maybe delete your dating apps first. And remember - sometimes the scariest stories aren't about monsters under the bed, but the ones we create in our heads when love goes wrong.

Another obsession thriller for the win! I think we can all relate to Jane if we’re being honest. She’s obsessed with her ex and his new girlfriend because duh…. She’s the new girlfriend. I loved the humor that was mixed in with this story and that it wasn’t at all what I thought it was going to be. It makes you wonder is she crazy or was he driving her to behave the way she did? If you’re into fast-paced thrillers with u predictable plots this is for you!

"So Happy Together" by Olivia Worley is a gripping psychological thriller that masterfully delves into the complexities of obsession, love, and self-delusion. he story's unpredictable turns and the intricate dynamics between the characters make it a standout in the thriller genre. Overall, "So Happy Together" is an unputdownable read that keeps you guessing until the very end. I would highly recommend!

This is a really twisted and crazy book. I enjoyed it a lot. You'll never see what's coming next!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

So Happy Together was such a twisted and wild ride. Obsession that leads to other obsessions had me questioning so many things. Everyone seemed to be hiding so much, but definitely ended much different than I had expected.

Thank you St Martins Press and Netgalley for this eARC, these opinions are my own. An absolute thrill ride! Jane is a playwright living in NYU. She’s also found the perfect guy, Colin. They dated but he broke up with her after six weeks. The thing is they are perfect together Colin just doesn’t realize it yet. She just has to help him see that they are meant to be, even though he’s dating someone new. Jane even connects with Zoe, Colin’s new girlfriend. But that won’t stop her from helping Colin to see who he really belongs with. Then she finds information in Colin’s apartment. Information that enmeshes the three of them in secrets and lies. Can she help Colin see she’s the one for him? A stalkery thriller with twists on twists! Fast paced and had me consuming it! Olivia Worley on intense story of love and just how far some people will go to find and keep it! The ending left me shook!
