This novel had an interesting perspective from the eyes of the deceased. Frustrated Honor wants another baby with husband Tom. As she level her hotel in Paris with daughter Chloe, tragedy strikes and Tom is left to pick up the pieces
The entire novel is told from Honor’s perspective with flashbacks. I didn’t really love some of the characters but I’m glad NetGalley gave me the opportunity to read a book I might have glossed over.

This book hooked me in the first chapter and I was really looking forward to the possibilities of where it was going. The author is a strong writer who knows how to create suspense.
But the marketing of this book is all wrong. A love story?! Yikes. I’m really not a fan of a whole book being about keeping a secret that blows up at 95% and then has to wrap up a neat ending in one chapter. Not for me but fans of unbelievable domestic thrillers may enjoy this.

Finding Grace is hard to label because it’s about processing grief, the burden and consequences of holding onto secrets, and a romance book. The first chapter made it nearly impossible not to read the second chapter immediately. It would be a spoiler to talk about the book's narration, but it was clever rather than a gimmick.

The characters were well-developed and spoke to the complications of relationships while dealing with grief. The book's timeline was a little uneven as sometimes it skipped large periods of critical periods, and sometimes it was a minute-by-minute account of a day. The book's conclusion was a little predictable but was still enjoyable because of the well-developed characters.

Honor and Tom are struggling after five miscarriages during their attempt to give their daughter Chloe a sibling. They have decided to hire a surrogate and use the eggs of a third woman, an anonymous egg donor. They are vacationing in Paris, waiting to see if the surrogate is pregnant, and tensions are high.. Tom is tired of fertility talk and just wants to concentrate on their little family. Honor is obsessed with having another child. As Tom and Honor feel the strain of this conflict, an event occurs that will change everything.

This novel was surprising and went in a direction that was completely unexpected. I assumed the story was headed in a certain way, and then it turned on a dime, becoming something quite different, and it worked. The cast of characters is strong, and the couple's group of friends figures significantly in the story. The ability of a person to change is made quite clear, as is the importance of honesty and trust in a relationship There is a bit of the paranormal added to this novel, and that took it to another level. Gripping and surprising, this book will not disappoint.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary and the opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you #netgalley for the ARC. I was shocked at the early events and wondered where the heck is this book gonna go. I thought for sure he’d end up with an evil friend, same evil friend who we hated in the end. Glad it didn’t go there. Then I figured out the ending at some point but wasn’t disappointed in it. It is a book of waiting, waiting for the bomb to drop, waiting to find out if he really was an ass, waiting to see which friends weren’t really friends…I guess like many books, but I felt on edge, just hurry up and tell me! I really liked it though. Looking forward to seeing what this author does next.

Finding Grace was a surprise. The cover is what caught my attention but the storyline and characters in this book were real and raw. The storyline is such a unique look at love, grief, and heartbreak. Thank you NetGalley for this arc!

This was an absolute gift of a book, what an interesting point of view. I absolutely loved it! It brought up so many emotions while reading it.

The beginning of this was very intriguing but I felt that way too much was given to the reader…would have liked more mystery. With everything being given away from the start I felt no interest in seeing where the story went. DNF

2.5 Stars

This book had all the right ingredients for a fun, swoony romance, but something about it just didn’t click for me. The fake dating trope is usually a favorite, and the premise had so much potential, but the chemistry between the characters felt flat. I wanted more depth, more emotional build-up—something to really make me root for them.

The pacing also felt uneven. Some parts dragged, while others rushed through moments that could have added real substance. The social media and Hollywood aspects were interesting but sometimes felt like they took center stage over the actual romance.

It wasn’t bad—it had its cute moments—but it didn’t fully deliver either. If you’re looking for a light, easy read, it might work, but it’s not one I’d rush to recommend.

Finding Grace is an emotional story that plays with your heart the whole way through. The story was unique and grabs your attention and doesn’t let go! The author’s writing style brought the characters to life, even the unexpected narrator. This is a stunning debut and I can’t wait to see what this author does next. Unfortunately if I start talking about the book I feel that I will give too much away. Trust me, if you enjoy women’s fiction this one is for you! Well done! All opinions expressed are completely my own. I will be enthusiastically recommending this one! #FindingGrace #LorettaRothschild

Finding Grace is a novel for the twenty-first century--inventive, fast paced, "high concept." It blends genres, with a love story and loads of domestic psychological suspense. I was drawn into the book's engaging, creative plot and enjoyed the settings. The story begins at Christmastime at the Ritz in Paris, where an author is locked in conflict with her husband, a distracted finance guy who accuses her of being obsessed with their efforts to conceive a second child through surrogacy. By the end of the first chapter, everything changes. The story continues in England and is told by an unconventional narrator. The choice of narrator was the one element of the book that didn't resonate with me, but it was done with a very light touch and didn't spoil what was otherwise a very enjoyable read. The plot is suspenseful and fast-paced, and what's at stake is a relationship. There's no killer stalking his prey to keep you up at night. I liked that, and I would recommend Finding Grace.

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Easily one of my top reads of the year!)**

*Finding Grace* is the kind of novel that reminds readers why they love books. Loretta Rothschild has crafted a beautifully layered story filled with heartbreak, love, and the unexpected consequences of our choices. From the very first page, I was completely captivated, unable to put it down. At one point, I even said “whoa” out loud—I did *not* see a certain twist coming. And yes, this book made me cry, but in the best way possible.

The relationships in *Finding Grace* feel so authentic and complex, making every emotional moment hit even harder. It’s a story that lingers long after the final page, and I have no doubt it will stay with me for years to come.

A must-read for anyone who loves an emotional, gripping novel with unforgettable characters. This is easily one of my favorite books of the year—and it’s only January!

‘A twisty, gripping novel that wraps around a deeply moving love story, from an electric new voice in upmarket women’s fiction.

SHE THOUGHT IT WAS FATE. I KNEW IT WASN'T....’

I must admit, this whole plot was so very alluring.

Chock full of emotional turmoil, Finding Grace is basically told from a ghost’s perspective.

As we watch a man go through horrific loss and heartache, we are reminded how quickly & unexpectedly life can change.

We then watch him come back to life only to dig himself a hole and begin to flounder in all his well-intentioned mistakes & wrongdoings.

It’s all very intense and thought provoking.

That said, I still felt a disconnect, something I can’t quite put my finger on.

But I am happy to have had the opportunity to read the book.

Thank you NetGalley and SMP for this arc in exchange for review.

Finding Grace
By Loretta Rothschild

This is a debut novel. It starts with a bang – boy, I didn't see that coming! The narrator is a dead woman, for starters. It is a story of love; of hope rising out of sorrow; of friendship and loyalty and above all honesty.

Thomas and Honor are a married couple with a beautiful little four year old daughter named Chloe. Due to infertility issues, the marriage is strained. Honor desperately wants another child no matter what it takes. Thomas is ready to accept what he considers to be their already happy family. Then tragedy strikes and nothing will ever be the same.

This is a book that will bring you to tears. It will show you that life can and does go on, that it may be different – but still worth living. I can't wait to see what the author does for an encore!

Tanks to th publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

A heartfelt, moving book about love, loss and finding hope in the aftermath of grief. The beginning of this book reminded me of the Goldfinch. There are some really well written lines and poignant observations that stayed with me well after reading - "The empty house was stripped not of its contents but its' context" ..."we value age defying regimens instead of focusing on the wonders of aging" It was a bit frustrating for the main character to prolong keeping a secret causing much of the conflict in the book but it all came together in the end.
Highly recommend this book.

What an amazing debut! This was a very character driven book filled with so many wonderful moments. I found this to be sad at times yet I did find myself smiling and laughing over other parts. The writing was amazing. The pacing and the storyline were well developed. I was completely invested and so curious to see how the book would end.

Many thanks NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. I would absolutely recommend this book to other readers.

I went into. this book blind, not really knowing the full plot, simply that it was about family and forgiveness - two of my favorite tropes.

I recommend you go in blindly yourself, because the first chapter shook me to my core. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT THIS BOOK WAS ABOUT!!!

Finding Grace is Loretta Rothschild debut novel and what a stunning one it is.
Honor is a loving mom to Chloe, along with her successful husband Tom, who live in London. Until a tragic incident happens and everything is upended.

Finding Grace is about true love, fate, and honesty. It's about forgiving oneself and being a parent. How does one find happiness after tragedy strikes? Only time will tell.

This book was incredibly sad, but there were parts that made me laugh, especially with some of the side characters. There are times, as the I was confused with the narrator's tone of voice and the actual story, but that could just be me. Especially since we are seeing this from a point of view that most readers are not accustomed to. Again, go into this book blindly and you will know what I mean!

It reads as a a dramatic thriller of sorts, but also a story of redemption. Don't miss this when it comes out on June 10th!!

Finding Grace is Loretta Rothschild’s debut and I am SO impressed. The synopsis already provided by the author is perfect. I do not want to spoil a single drop of this emotional, tumultuous, reflective, heat breaking, and heart warming story.

This book is very much about the characters. I felt like I knew them. I loved them, I was rooting for them, and at times I was very much yelling at them. This book had me reflecting on what I would do if I was in their shoes. Please pick this book up on June 10th, so you too can ride the waves of emotions from beginning to end.

4.75 stars! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

**No Spoilers **

I downloaded this book when it was available to request without having to be approved to read it. When I read the description it sounded like something I'd like so I thought I'd give it a try. Let me tell you I loved this book. The unexpected twist at the beginning was so not what I was expecting so early in the book. I had to go back and re-read a couple of pages to make sure I was reading what I thought I was. Lol. After reading more I couldn't put the book down. I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. Absolutely enjoyed this book and the way it ended. Definitely going to recommend to all my book friends.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this book.
