I was so excited for this book but really nothing about it ended up working for me. Hattie was pretty awful. She only ever cared about herself and then when things started unraveling with the town at the end and she was upset I was so mad because people tried to tell her what would happen to the town. The love story was ridiculous. She gets back with her high school sweetheart for literally 2 chapters and they are saying I love you right away. It felt like high school like what? The writing was so lacking it was hard to stay engaged.

Got this book downloaded two days ago and read it in one sitting yesterday. Now upset that I don't live in Mountain View and can't ever go to a barn party at Robinson's Events. I'm also wondering where I can find my own Fox Ryan. That scene in the hardware store almost broke my heart--just saying. Can't wait to read more from Joy Callaway. I wish this was a series!

A Hallmark style story full of hope and love. a cute premise, endearing characters and lots of heart…what more could you ask for in a romance?
Thank you NetGalley for this arc!

Lighthearted, romantic read! Cute book with likable characters. Predictable in most aspects of the book, but I really liked the ending!

Hattie Norwood grew up in the small town of Mountain View, South Carolina, but after her high school sweetheart broke her heart, she left it behind for college and a career in the city. She returns to her hometown upon news that her parents’ peanut farm is infertile and that the town may be bought out by the Carolina Panthers to build a new stadium. Hattie is reunited with her former love, Lee, and they work to start up a new business on her parents’ farm to keep the family afloat and the town’s legacy alive. While rekindling their relationship is everything she thought she wanted, the new store owner in town, Fox, makes Hattie have second thoughts.

I’m always down for a small town romance, and Mountain View has everything I love: quirky characters, a tight knit community, and a swoon-worthy male love interest. This is a closed-door romance, so if you’re looking for spice, this isn’t for you. Hattie was infuriating at times because the plot revolves around her being wishy-washy, but I enjoyed both Lee’s and Fox’s characters (even though I thought Hattie’s and Lee’s obsession with each other after a decade was a little insane). I also enjoyed the bigger plot about the possible Panthers stadium and the Norwood’s venture into hosting events on their farm. There was a lot going on at times, so not every character or subplot received enough attention in my opinion, but I really enjoyed this overall. Thanks to NetGalley, Alcove Press, and Joy Callaway for this free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this story of a small town girl who returns home after living in the city to help her parents- it was a good mix of romance and local conflict. Definitely worth a read!

Sing Me Home to Carolina was a heartwarming tale of hope and love and had me hooked from the start.

I loved the small town setting of Mountain View and I really enjoyed all the characters around town as they really made it feel warm and homely.

I enjoyed the plot and watching the town rally to save their home. Hattie was such a good character and I found her so relatable and realistic in the sense of her wanting to have a life outside of her childhood but I’m glad of the decision she made in the end.

The romance plot in this did sort of confuse me for a hot minute as you go into this thinking it’s a second chance romance only to be steered in the complete opposite direction. I will say that I had no idea of who she was going to end up with until at least half way through and then when I found myself rooting for Fox I found that the relationship with Lee kept getting dragged out a bit and we lost out on some extra time with Fox.

However, that was my only bug bear with this story and the romance, the rest was really entertaining and I read it in 2 sittings.

For fans of small town American romance, with a real heartwarming storyline then this one is for you.

Thank you Netgalley and Joy Callaway for this E-ARC. Sing Me Home to Carolina is out June 10th!

Cozy small town romance that feels like a hallmark romance movie. The town kind of reminded me of Stars Hollow so I was immediately drawn and I love how it took place in North Carolina as I just moved to the Carolina’s! I found it very fun and enjoyable read, I did struggle with Hattie a little bit but it didn’t take away from the story

THIS IS EXACTLY THE BOOK I NEEDED. I was looking for a fun story with unforgettable romance and I found it. I laughed. I teared up. I understood Hattie so much. Years ago, I was in a similar situation. I was looking for home and trying to find my way through a tangled relationship when I realized home and the right relationship had been in front of me the whole time. Just like Hattie though I didn't make things easy on myself. I'll be buying a copy of this book when it comes out and telling everyone about it.

I was excited for this book. The set up was good: small town fighting against new NFL stadium taking farms and local girl back from big city job gets stuck hosting events protesting the build AND reconnects with first love. It had the premise to be something.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say I had a couple of issues. The love story didn't work. When most of the story was about how much she loves one of the guys, and then flips. What the heck?!? Then the lack of romantic build up for the other guy didn’t help and it felt out of place in the story. Also, I didn't like Hattie at all. She complained A LOT!! I don’t feel she should have either, which isn’t good for a romance book/story.

Sing Me Home to Carolina is like a combination of Hart of Dixie and Virgin River, with a touch of Hallmark movie. Hattie Norwood goes home to Mountain View South Carolina after learning that her parents Peanut Farm has no chance of being successful. Hattie has no plans to stay in town, but when her old friend and town councilwoman begs for her help with an upcoming musical benefit, Hattie just can’t say no. Things really get interesting when Hattie runs into her Ex, Lee and notices the town heartthrob, Fox.

This was my first book by Joy Callaway, and I really enjoyed the cozy, small town vibes and the love triangle that ensues. Hart of Dixie is one of my favorite series, and this book reminded me of it in so many ways. The only negative for me was the Authors writing style. It lacks a bit of flow and took me some time to adjust to it. Beyond that, this was a cute and quirky read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Alcove Press for allowing me to read an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was given the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion through NetGalley.
This is the first book I have read by this author. But I'll be honest, it wasn't my type of book. It was a slow start to me. I loved the 'small town' feeling of this book, however, I just didn't enjoy the main character. Hattie just couldn't make up her mind about the men and it seemed we was back and forth the entire book. Also, most books make you fall in love with the 'correct man' but this one had me disliking both her choices. I also had a hard time following along at times.

Event planner Hattie Norwood only came back home to Mountain View, South Carolina to support her parents as they receive word that the family peanut farm is infertile. This news doesn’t come as a surprise to Hattie, and she plans to return to Charlotte at the weekend’s end.

But then the town councilwoman begs Hattie to use her event planning prowess to help Mountain View put on a musical benefit to stop the construction of the new Carolina Panthers stadium—a project Hattie is actually in favor of, much to the dismay of the locals—and she finds herself agreeing to stay until the town’s Founder’s Day celebration a week later, just as her old flame, former MLB standout Lee Lockhardt, materializes in town after a career-ending injury.

When the hunky and mysterious new owner of Fox’s Hardware, Fox Ryan, suggests the Founder’s Day celebration be moved to the Norwoods’ barn in an attempt to reinvent the failing farm as a music and event venue, Hattie agrees, unaware this move will thrust the town, her love life, and the brewing tension over the stadium into a very public spotlight.

This was a lovely cozy small town story that felt like a big warm hug. Lots of quirky characters. I loved Hattie. She was well-developed and likable. Highly recommend it! 4⭐

This novel follows Hattie, an event planner who returns home to help her parents with their failing farm, only to be recruited into helping the small town plan a Founder’s Day that will help prevent the opening of an NFL stadium on their land, despite believing that this business is just what Mountain View needs to revitalize their fading town. While back in town she finds herself unable to avoid running into her high school ex-boyfriend returning home from a career ending injury from the MLB and spending time with a curious new business owner in town who has quickly become a part of the community and agrees to help her with the Founder’s Day preparations.

I was really looking forward to reading this book I I thought the synopsis for the story looked really interesting. Sadly, despite persevering for a good proportion of the book. I just could not connect with any of the characters. Sadly, I struggled to get into the story and was unable to finisg\h it.

I will not be giving feedback for this book. Despite trying to get into the story I was not able to finish as it was not gripping in any way.

Unfortunately I had to DNF at 30%. I was drawn to this book by its description and location. Any story taking place in South or North Carolina...I am in, however I just couldn't connect with the characters. I was hoping for a good, heartwarming small town story but I just didn't think the charm was there.

SING ME HOME CAROLINA is a genre shift and a huge departure for Joy Callaway, a blossoming favorite of mine in the historical fiction market. In this cozy small town romance novel with all the Hallmark vibes you could ever imagine, Callaway gives us humor and hope and and second chance romance and new found love and love triangle vibes and just pure fun. I laughed and loved along with these characters as they banded together to save their small southern town from being encroached upon to build a new stadium for an NFL team.

While yes, the romance leads the plotline, Callaway gives us a full cast of side characters to root for and I think they steal a lot of the best moments of the novel! There's truly nothing more southern than scenes set in a beauty parlor! I can't wait to read the next book from Joy Callaway in this genre!
