Such a captivating story. Two young authors go on an adventure together. Throughout their journey they learn more about each other as well as face many situations. When only one of the two girls arrive home panic sets in. Two families are pushed against each other to find the missing girl. This book keeps you on edge not wanting to set it down. Great book and author. Highly recommend!

A mother's daughter goes missing on her first trip away with her best friend, leaving behind signs of a struggle in an abandoned camping bus. The mother is left desperate and terrified, wondering what has happened to her daughter and what she must do to bring her back.

This audiobook was incredibly captivating from the start, making it difficult to pause due to its suspenseful nature. The love of a mother is unparalleled, as we all know, and this theme is beautifully portrayed throughout the story.

The characters in the book are incredibly relatable, as the narrative delves into multiple points of view. Willow and Amelia come across as young and naive, which is fitting considering they are navigating their own personalities and lives. The mother character is especially relatable, as the story highlights the lengths a parent would go to for their child.

The plot is full of unexpected twists and turns, leading to a satisfying ending that caught me off guard. The narrator did an excellent job of introducing the characters with distinct voices, adding to the intensity and suspense of the story. It was hard to tear myself away from the audiobook when I needed to pause.

This audiobook would be perfect for a road trip or as a binge-listening experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging story.

Thank you, Bookouture Audio for digital audiobook copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My Missing Daughter, on audio, was a solid domestic thriller that kept me listening (and guessing) all the way to the end. In this era of podcasts, true crime and van-life, this one hit the mark with intrigue as two young women who wrote a book and are now traveling alone face their own crime. With only one daughter returning, two single moms with their own issues and several side characters who make you suspicious, I listened to this one in an afternoon and a morning. Please don't look up anymore reviews - I HATE when so much is said you miss the excitement of the journey yourself.

Highly recommend, Ellery A. Kane's new book drops on October 8, 2024.

I was afraid I might not be able to enjoy the audiobook too much, Patricia R. used an odd voice for recording the Prologue, but it got better through Chapter 1 and onward. (might need to re-record the Prologue, if possible). Please don't be discouraged from listening to the audiobook!

This is my first book by Ellery Kane and it sure won't be the only one!! Oh boy, what a brilliant story!! I absolutely loved the layout of 'Now' and 'On the road' documentation. Snippets of Instagram and other social media interactions were the cherry on top. Willow and Amelia are best friends enrolled in a journey to Niagara Falls to celebrate the publication of their first book "The Road Trip" - ironic, I know! and also just brilliant! because only one of them returns... where is Willow!? what could have possibly happened to her? - you'd have to dive right in because you won't regret it! If you like a fast-paced story, a twisty plot and a mind-blowing ending, Ellery Kane might just become one of your faves too!

Many thanks to the author, Bookouture Audio and Netgalley for an advanced copy for an honest review.

3.5 Stars

The narration was good, I listened at x2. I enjoyed this thriller, it kept my interest. It started a bit slow, but it picked up. It took me a while to warm to the characters.

Whew that was quite a twist ending!

I couldn’t wait to get through this audiobook and find out what happened to Willow! At no point, did I guess! This was a unique well written story. The reason for 4 and not 5 stars was due to the weird interactions with the detective. She was unusually rude & it seemed like she didn’t even try to find Willow. Just didn’t seem believable.

All in all, great book & audiobook!

I enjoyed the narrator and listened at 2x and it was perfect!

With an intriguing beginning, and plenty of twists and turns this is an entertaining story, gripping enough to keep you listening, but doesn't quite hit the mark when it comes to being invested in your lead characters,

may have been the wrong audience for this book, as I feel the writing may be more suited to YA readers. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish at times with the bickering, hashtags and other schoolgirl antics.
I also found some of the reactions of the characters and their interactions to be very unrealistic, especially concerning the police investigation. While I found it annoying perhaps a younger reader may have been more forgiving.
I kept listening and ended up being drawn into the story and just when I thought I had it all figured out there was a twist.
The pacing was good, the story kept moving along keeping me interested and needing to finish to see how it all turned out.
The narration was good, though I wasn’t sure I liked it to begin with, but that changed once I settled into the story.
This is the first of this author’s books I’ve read, and I would be interested in reading more.

With thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for my copy of the audiobook for review.

This is a great thriller. It had some fun twists and turns. Parts were predictable but then they would add a twist to it. Interesting and quick listen. Great narrator.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one! It’s kind of a middle of the road read. Firstly the narration was great and kept me interested and paced the story well.

The story unfolded gradually however I had already figured the bad guy early in the book and didn’t feel surprised by any twists or revelations made.

However the ending was better than expected and gave the book that extra half star 3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The book was ok but I wouldn’t rush out to recommend.

Thank you the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook and review

Two friends are out on a trip but then the camper van they were traveling in is returned with one friend returning home shortly after. Where is the other? This was a solid thriller that had me intrigued throughout. I was keen to know what had happened to Willow and had my suspicions about several characters being involved. Enjoyable and twisty with great audiobook narration, this is one I would recommend to thriller fans.

Coming to my rating : out of 5 stars
Title :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ an intersting title
Cover :⭐️⭐️⭐️ piquied my interest in the book
Character development :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the development of the characters is so profound, from the start, till i reached the end, i coukd understand each chaarcter and why they did what they did
Writing style :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ very well written
Originality :⭐️⭐️⭐️
Plot :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a good plot, and the ending twist is a cherry on the top
Overall :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ i will be looking forward to more books by this author
Voice of the narrator :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The voice over of different characters, and depiction of emotions : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ done well, this is what hooked me to the story and made my experience fill with excitement.
So firstly i would like to review the Story. The story was good, with tropes like kidnapping, bffs turned enemies, ML’s are authors, road trip, murder on the road, bettayal, age gap romance, camping, social media exploitation, etc.
The book started bang on, with the intro of the mystery in the start itself. The emotions of a mother, when a daughter goes missing was well depicted. Even the stark difference between the two mothers Tracy and Candice, one who is cool and dont know what to do kind of, and the other is ambitious, imposing, strict….. the way both the mothers handle the situation, the dialoiges everything was written so well that the difference in their characters can be easily understood.
The past and the present pov’s, slowly unveiling all the mysteries, like first the present pov is shown and then the past pov is, like this, few small mysteries were caught on and understood. I feltthis kind of depiction of the story may blow out the mystery of the story, and the author led on to make us believe that we know everything, but at the last there was a blast on mystery waiting for us. I really enjoyed listening to the story.
Now coming to the audio part of the book, the narrator has narrated the book well, giving difefrent voiceovers for different characters, the narration of the emotions was also spot on, the fear, the happiness, the sadness, the mystery, everything coukd be understood by her voice, this is what made me enjoy the story more.

A fun road trip meets a little murder…

Premise - Tracy’s daughter Willow is best friends with Amelia, the daughter of an accomplished cardiologist single-mother-by-choice. They’ve been neighbors all their lives and seem more friends by proximity than similarity, as the girls (and their mothers) couldn’t be less alike. As they head to college it might finally be time to grow apart, but instead the girls coauthor a book and undertake a #vanlife road trip together. But only Amelia comes back home…

Oh my goodness was I gripped!! There’s a little meta-ness with the book promotion angle, but the twists kept me on my toes. I didn’t love the epilogue twist (at all - it felt like overkill and a little cheap) but every twist until then was fun.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Patricia Rodriguez. She has a mature voice, with a bit of that charming grandma gravel in it, but she does an excellent job with characters of all ages - I was really surprised and impressed with how young and authentic she managed to make the daughters. All in all, an excellent read and a great listening experience!

Thanks, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio, for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book was great. As someone from Northern Michigan, the "Mackinaw" and "Mackinac" mispronunciation in the audiobook really drove me crazy. Once I got past that I was able to really enjoy the book. The twists were great, the ending was unexpected, and I really liked the characters. Listened to this in 24 hours! I couldn't put it down.

Rating: 3.5🌟

My Missing Daughter by Ellery Kane is a suspenseful thriller centered around Tracy, a mother whose world shatters when her daughter suddenly disappears. The story takes readers on an emotional journey as Tracy races against time to uncover the truth, facing buried secrets and her own fears along the way. The stakes escalate as Tracy delves deeper, uncovering unexpected connections and questioning those closest to her.

While the book has moments of genuine suspense and intrigue, it tends to drag at times, with some scenes feeling repetitive. The pacing could have benefited from tighter storytelling to keep the tension more consistent throughout. The plot also has some predictable elements, though Kane does manage to introduce a few surprising twists that keep readers engaged, particularly in the latter half.

Patricia Rodriquez brings a strong, believable performance to the audiobook, enhancing the tension and emotional weight of the story when appropriate. Her narration makes the suspense more palpable, helping bring Tracy’s desperation and determination to life.

Despite its slower moments, My Missing Daughter is a solid read for fans of domestic thrillers. Ellery Kane crafts a narrative that, while not without its flaws, ultimately offers enough suspense to make it worth the read.

Thank you NetGalley, Ellery Kane, and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen and review My Missing Daughter

This book had me engaged with its gradual suspense and an unexpected twist. The pacing kept the tension going, and the surprise at the end added a nice touch to the plot. A good choice for readers who enjoy unpredictable stories.

This was my first Ellery Kane read. And it definitely won’t be my last!
I liked how the book had both the current and before timeline for the reader to get the insight to what happened. It was not hard to follow between timelines.
This is a prime example that as a parent you truly can never know your child and what they may do but also how hard a mother will fight for their child.
I thought I had the guilty party figured out but was surprised once the story started to unfold. There’s a lot of secrets, a lot of deception and quite a few little twists along the way. Then once the ending came out I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. I will be keeping an eye out for more titles from this author!

Two girls depart on an old camping bus for their first trip away from home.

The two girls never return.

What happened to the girls?

I was intrigued by the book's compelling premise and enjoyed the book's pacing.

Unfortunately, I was not the right reader for this book.

The book unfolded from two POVs: the mother of one of the missing girls and the mother's daughter.

Although I connected with the mother's POV, the daughter's POV, and her social media posts gave this book a YA vibe and I am not a fan of YA books.

I listened to the audiobook read by Patricia Rodriguez, who did a fabulous job with the narration.

Since the book unfolded from two POVs, two narrators would have been preferred.

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.6⭐️ I am thankful to have gotten the audio ALC for free from Netgalley and Bookouture Audio so I can leave my voluntary review.

I really enjoyed this book! I love the back and forth of the POV and time frames of the mother searching for her child and the friends trip a few days beforehand. It was seamlessly constructed and well written.

When I first started it with the prologue I was really nervous that I would not be able to listen to the book as the narrator Patricia Rodriguez put on this voice that was awful to listen to and it was so slow and drawn out.
But thankfully once chapter 1 came her tone changed. However, i could not listen to is on 1x speed or I would have DNFd it most likely. While I went to 1.75x and 2x (depending on the chapter) as that was what was comfortable for me, putting it at 1.25x was sufficient to correct the pacing of the narration.

I enjoyed that the book jumped right in to the problem of the story. It kept me engaged and made for a fast read in that o wanted to keep going and if a physical book I know I would have been flipping pages easily.
My
Husband is from Michigan so having spent some time there it was fun to listen to the road journey and places around Michigan. It was also something that I didn’t even try to figure things out! I got to enjoy the twists and turns and the ending was great!

The book comes out on October 8th 2024 so get it on your TBR!!

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again
