This was a great way to get children to think about protecting the environment. It wasn’t too preachy and had that fun element that worked as this type of book. Oriane Livingston has a strong style and worked well overall. I enjoyed how good the story was and how everything flowed together. I hope there is more to this story.
The Guardians of Earth is a wonderfully crafted middle-grade fantasy that follows Oona, a young girl who discovers her ability to communicate with animals on the eve of her eleventh birthday. Summoned by Eterna, the spirit of Earth, Oona learns about her sacred mission to restore the planet’s connection with humanity. The story is filled with adventure, mystery, and powerful messages about environmental stewardship. I enjoyed reading it not just for the enchanting plot but also for the way it inspires kids to appreciate and protect our planet—it’s a perfect blend of imagination and important lessons!

The Guardians of Earth is a magical ride with Oona, who discovers she can talk to animals and is destined to restore our world’s connection to nature! This book is packed with mystery, friendship, and tons of heart. I loved how it mixes fantasy with real-life lessons about caring for our environment. If you want your kids to dive into a fun story while learning how to be Earth’s heroes, this is a great read! Let’s go save the planet together! 🚀✨
Thank you Oriane Livingston, Ariane Books and Netgalley for this free ARC in exchange for a review.
This middle-grade novel is a nice light fantasy adventure read for all ages.
I would have changed two things: first, things seem to happen too quickly and it could benefit from being slowed down a bit, with more descriptiveness, and second, these two seem a bit young for a romance; particularly as it's that tired instalove trope.
