This book was fun for what it was, but sadly fell short for me and is my least favorite Sarah Adams book. She's usually a favorite author, but this one didn't hit for me. It felt like it was trying to be too fun, but not executing it well. A lot of this book felt very unrealistic and I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters at all.

Sarah Adams delivers again! Not only does this deliver a swoony romance, but the individual character journey's Emily and Jack go through are fantastic.

Cute, light hearted rom com. Not something I’ll remember but loved in the moment. Jack was dreamy!! Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was really cute! I love spending time in Rome with the Walkers! I can’t wait for Maddie’s story!

I love Rome, Kentucky. I’m always so happy to visit the small town. Sarah Adams knows how to write a cozy small town romance. Cozy and romantic without adding any extra risk. I want fluffy and happy romance.

I adore everything Sarah Adams and Beg, Borrow, or Steal is no different. The tension and banter between Jack and Emily is top notch and they had me giggling and blushing all throughout the book. Emily was extremely relatable and my favorite of the sisters so far. This book was amazing and I absolutely flew threw it!

This book was typical. I was expecting more. It was just like the same old romcom.i would not recommend.

Sarah Adams’ books never disappoint and Beg, Borrow & Steal was no exception…. I absolutely adored it all!!
Emily, she had my heart! There was so many emotions going through me as I read this book. And out of all the characters that Sarah has written, Emily is the one that I connected the most with-
“Emily . . . you take on too much—and you hold yourself to this impossible standard of living that no one can survive on.”
If this didn’t hit just right. I could see so much of Emily in me - the smiling even though you are falling apart inside, the need to fix everyone’s problem yet your own life is barely hanging on, the fear of being alone, of being left behind, the need to be strong for everyone is else when you feel nothing but- it was all too close to home. I just wanted to give Emily this big bear hug. But also give Sarah a hug to just say thank you- thank you for “seeing me” too. It was good to know that I’m not alone in these feelings.
And Jack- oh Jack. My heart hurt for him so much too. He was tender, loving, caring, and funny. It tore my heart to read about his past and the broken relationship he had with his father. And it made me so mad. He deserved so much more from his family- and I kind of wish that his mom had left with him too.
Together, Jack and Emily were just perfection. Their banter, their fights, and later their friendship was so good and refreshing. And I agree with Jack- they needed to have this history in order to get to where they were meant to be. Their little fights were too funny- I never giggled so much! I absolutely loved the emails and text exchanges, it was such a great way to add to the story and give us reader a glimpse of their past/history.
It’s really hard to pick a favorite out of this series, but I think this may be it!! All together it was so well done- and I loved the theme throughout the book. It added so much dearth and it has a lot more character growth. This was a 4.75⭐️
Thank you NetGalley and Sarah for the e-arc in exchange of my honest review. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I can’t believe it will be the last one!

Another delicious rom-com home run for Sarah Adams. This is book #3 in the series but can be read as a stand-alone novel. Emily & Jack stole my heart and kept me reading late into the night. Highly recommend!
*I received an arc of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Sweet Romance in the series! Had a little too much back story/ internal conflict that I thought took a little away from the actual character interactions. Overall enjoyed it!

"Beg, Borrow, or Steal" by Sarah Adams is a standout romance of 2025 and a must-add to your TBR list. Emily and Jack's relationship is heartwarming and well-developed, offering a delightful take on the rivals-to-lovers trope. The progression of their romance feels natural and unhurried, avoiding the rushed pacing that can sometimes come with this trope. The story also delivers unexpected emotional depth and tender moments, balanced perfectly with humor that had me laughing out loud. This is a charming and quick read that I highly recommend to any romance reader.
Thank you to NetGallery and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Dell for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book so so so much! It was such a fun read and I wish I could read it all over again! I am not always a fan of enemies to lovers but this book may have changed that entirely for me. The characters were all great and I loved their chemistry! Even the small town of Rome was perfect. 5/5 recommend!

Amazingly Beg, Borrow or Steal (When in Rome, #3) is my first book by Sarah Adams.
Even though this is book #3 in the series, I didn't feel that I missed anything by not reading book #1 or #2.
The main character had several siblings, several had significant others. At times there were too many minor characters for my pea brain. I also feel like I didn't fully connect with the main characters, hence 4 stars. But it was still a pretty good little romance.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for approving my request to read the advance read copy of Beg, Borrow or Steal (Rome #3) in exchange for an honest review. Approximately 384 pages. Publication date Jan 7, 2025.

A wonderful addition to this series. The heroine and hero were flawed and relatable, The short flashbacks to their past encounters provided insight to the present. I can't wait for the final title of this series.

Sarah Adams does it again! This is a great continuation of the standalone series (When in Rome). Emily and Jack are the perfect rivals-to-lovers and their banter is great! I love seeing more of Rome, KY, seeing previous characters, and continuing where her other books left off.

Sarah Sarah Sarah, you have done it again. These books just get better I swear. I loved every single second of this. What was my favorite is how mature this one was. Like it was still so cute but it felt like an adult romance which getting older I love. She’s done such a great job intertwining this series and making you fall in love with everyone. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Emily Walker is a teacher and aspiring writer who is used to doing things her way—and her way only. She's looking forward to a calm summer until she hears through the grapevine in her small town of Rome, Kentucky, that her arch-nemesis, Jack Bennett, is coming back to town, and this time, it's for good. He had left town to marry his fiancée during the school year, but now the wedding is off, and he has purchased a house right next to Emily's. This will not do. Emily must act fast to make sure he's gone for good; otherwise, she will be stuck with him for who knows how long. Jack Bennett, however, will not go quietly, and it seems Emily has met her match—equal in every way. The sleuthing, scheming, witty, and verbal sparring between the two characters as they try to claim their space in this novel is fantastic, as is the character development as they discover that maybe the reason they hate each other is actually because they have more in common than they realize. This is my first Sarah Adams book, but it certainly won’t be my last! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for letting me get an advanced copy of this book and introducing me to this amazing author. #BegBorrowOrSteal #NetGalley

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of "Beg, Borrow, or Steal."
Practice Makes Perfect was one of my favorite books last year, so I was excited to return to Rome, Kentucky and revisit the Walker family. This is the 3rd book in the series, focusing on Emily, and her "nemesis" Jack. While cute, I didn't completely love this one. Parts of it worked really well and I adored Jack (as does everyone) but I felt like something was missing, and I was disappointed in certain scenes (hard to say more without spoiling) after a big lead up with no follow through.
Cute, easy read, but fell a bit flat.

I LOVE SARAH ADAMS' BOOKS. I don't know how else to say it, but there's just something about the way she writes, the chemistry, the banter, and the vulnerabilities she weaves through her characters - she is undeniably talented! Beg, Borrow, or Steal is the third in the Rome series, and definitely didn't disappoint!! I completely related to Emily - trying to be the "mom" by taking care of everyone else around you, while also being afraid of being too much for any one person to handle. Jack was one of those perfect book boyfriends who makes you wish he existed in real life, and if he did, where exactly could one find him??? This book is full of heart <3 do not miss!!

Sarah Adams has done it again! Just when I think she can't possibly top the last book... She does! Beg, Borrow, or Steal is absolutely my favorite of the series so far!
Emily is a shout out to the eldest daughters and enneagram 2s everywhere. She is a 2nd grade teacher, is secretly writing a romance novel and is just simply trying to keep it all together. Oh, and let's not forget her longtime feud with Jack.
Jack has moved back to Rome, Kentucky, but is no longer engaged. He's bought the property next to his feuding buddy, and is keeping lots of secrets.
As the summer heats up, so does the tension between Emily and Jack. Maybe they don't hate each other quite as much as they thought.

I loved this book so much! I connected with Emily's character on so many levels, and watching her journey of realizing that it's okay not to keep it together all the time and lean on other people was so lovely. I loved her story arc of pursuing her dream of writing romance, and her relationship with Jack was just icing on the cake. I couldn’t love the “enemies to lovers” of these two characters more. The shenanigans of their feud are so fun!
Thanks NetGalley and Sarah for the ARC!
