Don’t Believe Her is a fun, twisty popcorn thriller about a woman who has been searching for her best friend as a teen. However, when her friend returns, she does not believe it is actually her.
Nicola Sanders delivers another crazy entertaining mystery full of unhinged characters and wild plot twists. I enjoyed this audiobook and it was easy to escape into.

This book will definitely be on my 2024 favorites list! It was so twisty. I thought I had it figured out at one point but there were so many more layers.
Ellie’s best friend Carla runs away when she’s 16. Twelve years later, Ellie is engaged to Carla’s brother, Nick, they live in his childhood home with his mother Marjorie, and all of a sudden Carla returns. Ellie immediately thinks this isn’t the real Carla but no one believes her. She won’t give up trying to convince people. No relationship is safe.
Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Nicola Sanders for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is tough review as I loved the narrator she did such a good job and made the story come alive and interesting but I found it a bit slow for alot of this maybe it's just me I'm not sure. Overall I gave this 3.5 rating but rounded up to 4.

Ellie and Carla grew up best friends. Carla ran away at 16 and Ellie hasn't heard from her since. Now Ellie has a young daughter and is engaged to Carla's brother Nick and living with him and his mother. Carla comes home but only Ellie doesn't believe its really her. So many twists and turns. Lots of fun.
Excellent narration by Jodie Harris.
The twists on this one just…keep…coming!!??!!
Ellie and Carla grew up together and were the best of friends… until one day when Carla calls Ellie and asks her to run away with her. Right. Now!! They were 16. Carla disappeared and never came back.
This. Is. The OPENING!!!
Ellie never gave up on finding her. She tried everything in her power…with no luck. She moved away from the area, but returned when her father died…and who does she meet? Carla’s brother Nick…who she always had a crush on! She also stopped by to see Marjorie…their Mom…. She always felt a special bond with her. ❤️
And with this chance meeting, Ellie falls for Nick all over again. And he returns the love…
I’m going to stop here 🛑
I’ll say that there a LOT more to this…and as I mentioned, the twists just keep coming. So just when I have it all figured out…I find out I am completely wrong. Over…and…over!
Terrific premise! Terrific opening scenes! Amazing, crazy…stuff!! Stuff that nightmares are made of. 😮😩
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

Sanders has a way to captivate the reader! Fantastic character and plot development. Deals with the complexities of human nature and trust. The narrator expertly engages the reader with voice changes! Be sure to grab this one
Don’t believe her is a cringe-fest in the best way! She dives deep into the main character and I feel like all of these strange, confusing things are happening to me and I am horrified! I can’t wait to get to the next page, but at the same time, it is so overwhelming. Nicola Sanders does cringe beater than any author I have ever read. She creates such discomfort that I feel like I hate it, but can’t get enough. The twists this book takes are innumerable and once I thought, “Well, that was the big reveal!”, another twist puts my mind in a tailspin. If you like psychological thrillers or just highly suspenseful books, read Don’t Believe Her, as well as her other books. This is a grade-A thriller!
This audiobook was so much fun! The narrator was excellent and really brought the characters to life.
Lots of twists and turns kept me guessing throughout the entire book.
I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a fast paced, twisty whodunnit.
Thank you to the publisher and author for this audio arc!
I am a little torn in regard to my review for this book. I thought the narrator did an excellent job - I never was tired of listening to her express emotion and she spoke clearly and concisely throughout the story.
The middle of this book was just a bit slow for me - Carla is Fake Carla and Ellie just cannot convince everyone of it...for like 15 chapters - and although the story was unique, I felt like a large portion of the middle of the story could have been edited out. The beginning and the ends were interesting, however, so I do not regret giving this one a read.
3.5 stars

A well done mystery/thriller, my only issue is I struggle with books that make you feel like you’re going crazy too, don’t get me wrong that means it’s really well written, it’s just like ahhh and puts me in a bad mood haha. But the twists were all worth it ! Really interesting story and I felt really satisfied with the ending.
I'll be publishing my review on Goodreads and StoryGraph 25th October and on Tik tok most likely will add to a monthly wrap up post with review the beginning of November.
This one was a slow paced listen that only kept my attention somewhat. I found it predictable and was waiting to be proved wrong with a big twist. It didn’t have overly likeable characters and I eye rolled a bit more than I should have. Certain circumstances that just wouldn’t happen so I lost a little faith. The narration was good and kept me going till the end. I found the start of book didn’t gel with the second half as if the characters weren’t the same throughout but maybe that was the point. It was an ok listen but nothing really different about it.

ARC Review
This was super entertaining! I swore I knew what was going on, but the twists just kept on coming!! It reminded me a lot of "She Says She's My Daughter" by Lauren North, so if you like the vibes of one, I'd highly suggest the other as well.
3.5 stars
16-year-old Carla disappeared 12 years ago. Her childhood best friend Ellie is now engaged to her brother Nick. Now, Carla is back, but something is off. Nick and his mother, Marjorie, are overjoyed by Carla’s return. However, Ellie isn’t convinced that the woman in their house is her friend.
Ellie seems to remember the past differently from everyone else. It all seems weird. Either she’s going crazy, or Carla is hiding something.
This was a wild ride! I didn’t find any of the characters personable, which made everyone a potential villain, and I liked that.
I wanted to love it, but things got a little too crazy for them to be believable. It was fast-paced and entertaining, and the ending was surprising.
Also, the narrator did a fantastic job!
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.
This book is the epitome of a gaslighting thriller, masterfully weaving a tale where it’s unclear who is being deceived. The plot centers around the protagonist who becomes deeply entangled with a family following the disappearance of her friend, who might also be her sister. Throughout the narrative, it’s unclear whether their relationship was genuine or marred by jealousy and deceit. The author did an excellent job in crafting a story arc that kept the pace brisk and engaging, ensuring there were few, if any, dull moments. Listening to this story was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the earc Don’t Believe her. It was fast paced and entertaining. The author does lead you to believe the story is going one when then the twist always gets you.
This audiobook was good. Everything wrapped up nicely only to get twisted up again! Very twisty! I liked the narrator and would read another book by this author.
Thank you to NetGally for letting me get a sneak peak into this book. The audiobook version.
When my sister in law returns. Something seems off, is she really who she says she is.
I LOVED this audiobook edition. The narrators were so entertaining to listen to! I also LOVED the twists and turns, I did not see them coming. Thank you so much for the ARC!
WHOA! I was thrown all over the place in this mystery/thriller. The story of Ellie's best friend who had gone missing 12 years ago and when she came back into everyone's life. Except is it really Carla? Or is a fake Carla!? I listened to this in one sitting, I couldnt stop!
4 stars!

I wasn't the hugest fan of the narrator and if I had read this rather than listened to the audio it possibly would've gotten a slightly higher rating. The story moved very slowly and I would say it would be considered the suspense genre rather than the thriller genre that it is advertised as.
