Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the E-ARC Audiobook.

This one actually kept me guessing until the big reveal! I thought I had predicted early on where this story was going, and while I had a small piece of puzzle, I did not have the full picture at all. I am usually pretty good at seeing the "twist" early on, so it was really exciting to read something that kept me guessing throughout the whole story. I want to talk about more details of the story and the excellent writing that makes you wonder who is actually crazy, but I don't want to spoil any of the experience of reading this book.
If you liked Nicola Sander's previous books, then you will enjoy this as well. I would recommend this book for fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell, and Lucinda Berry. This is a very enjoyable thriller, and I could not put it down once I started it. The narrator did a fantastic job. I could listen to her read the dictionary.

Many years ago, sixteen-year-old Carla disappeared.

Her best friend Ellie is now engaged to Carla's brother when Carla miraculously reappears.

But is this woman really Carla?

Ellie doesn't believe her.

Do you?

"Is this woman really who she says she is?" is not a new premise for psychological thrillers.

Although I was intrigued by the book's compelling premise, I was expecting talented author Nicola Sanders to put a more authentic and realistic spin on this popular and overdone premise.

Although the book's pacing was spot-on, the book had waaay too many eye-rolling moments.

I listened to the audiobook read by Jodie Harris. Her narration was good but not great.

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this one! The narrator was great! This story is about a girl who went missing shows up years later, but it’s not really her. Who is she? What really happened to Carla. I read this because Freida McFadden said it might be her new favorite book and no wonder she said that! The suspense and twists had me on the edge of my seat!

When Carla turns up after being away for twelve years, everyone is keen to know where she's been. This popcorn thriller hooked me in right from the start. I was so invested in finding out what was going on and while I had my own suspicions at the beginning, I ended up being wrong. While I did have to suspend my belief quite a bit, this short chapter thriller had me listening at rapid speed. Fantastic audiobook narration - highly recommend!

When Ellie’s best friend, Carla, runs away at aged 16 and is never seen again, she fears the worst. Never forgetting her friend, Ellie has made it her mission to find out what happened to Carla. Twelve years later, Carla returns. Carla’s mother is happy, her brother is happy, but Ellie isn’t happy… because she knows that’s not Carla.

“Don’t Believe Her” is an unputdownable, gripping psychological thriller. There were plot twists I never saw coming. When I thought I had things figured out, another bombshell would drop. With this novel, author Nicola Sanders has easily become a new favorite author of the genre! Fans of Freida McFadden will love this one!

Narrator Jodie Harris did a phenomenal job on all the characters, especially Ellie, perfectly capturing her frustration, confusion, and fear.

Thank you so much for my advance copy!

Overall, I recommend this thriller if you enjoy trying to figure out who is lying and uncovering the truth. What a thrilling and unpredictable journey! This is my third book by Nicola Sanders, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. If you’re a fan of Frieda McFadden, you’ll enjoy this one. The plot kept me on my toes, constantly wondering who was telling the truth.

Jodie Harris delivers a stellar performance in the audiobook. Her voice adds richness to the characters, immersing listeners in the narrative. Fans of Imogene Church will find Harris's interpretation irresistible. She infuses the story with heightened tension and emotion, enhancing the suspense and making the experience truly engaging.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this Audiobook.

Unfortunately I’m going to have to DNF. I’m over half way through and the amount of gaslighting is triggering me

Ellie desperately wants to know what happened to her childhood best friend when she ran away from home at 16.

But when Carly finally returns, Ellie remains troubled as her life starts to unravel

Reviews on Goodreads are high (pre publication date) so I hope readers enjoy this psychological thriller more than I did

Such a great thriller. I love when things turn and you don’t see it coming. This so felt like a Freida book. Wow. I listened on audio and loved the narrators on this one.
It’s realistic and very twisty. A true psychological thriller that leaves you guessing into the epilogue. Loved it.
You’re wondering if the missing friend is truly her or not and you will not see the end coming. Read it!!

Ellie's best friend, who is also her fiancé's sister, Carla, has disappeared X years ago, and she is now back. But something feels off to Ellie - she is convinced Carla is not Carla. The problem is nobody believes her.
This thriller is the second book I read by this author (Don't Let Her Stay was the first one), and it is just as good! Although I did find it predictable, I did enjoy the ride. I do have to admit that I thought it dragged a bit in the middle, and in the last 20% the twists keep on piling up a bit too high, but otherwise it was a fun read. <spoiler> "I did what anyone would do." Yeah, I think we don't have the same level of ethics, Margaret 😂 Also, I don't think it's fair for an author to bring multiple characters back from the death. It's too easy! </spoiler>
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Don’t believe Her is my first book by Nicola Sanders. I love suspenseful thrillers full of twists and unexpected surprises. This book was just that! It drew me in right away and never let up. I will be looking for more of Nicolas books!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this thriller! The story had so many surprising turns that I couldn't help but keep walking, totally hooked on the audiobook and eager to figure out the mystery. The journey was a chaotic and unpredictable one, and just when I thought I had a handle on the plot, it would take a sharp turn in a completely unforeseen direction. While I found myself wishing for the protagonist to find a trustworthy ally, this only heightened the tension surrounding Ellie's predicament and made the conclusion all the more gripping.

The audiobook, narrated by Jodie Harris, is an absolute delight. Her incredible voice adds a rich layer to the characters, drawing listeners deep into the narrative. She infuses the story with tension and emotion, enhancing the suspense and making the overall experience even more enthralling.

I really appreciate Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this Audiobook ARC!

Don’t Believe Her written by Nicola Sanders and narrated by Jody Harris. For years Ellie has been looking for her missing best friend Carla and even named her little girl after her just by coincidence she ended up being engaged to Nick, Carla‘s brother and her childhood crush. Her and little Carly live with Nick and Carla‘s mom Marjorie but being a part of the family hasn’t stopped her from searching. When she contacts a podcast to help with the 12 year old search she is dismayed when they turned her down and despite Nick not wanting her to do it after the rejection he hires a private investigator. This is when she finally hears the words she’s been waiting for and that is they found Carla everyone is excited but no one more than Ellie. When “Karla“ shows up Ellie instantly knows something is off about this fashionable upscale version of her childhood tomboy friend. So when Carla has no childhood memories to share with Ellie and for the most part acts clueless to the past and vague about where she’s been and why she left Ellie can’t help but question her but it seems the more she questions Carla the less she feels like part of the family and even worse when Carla does talk about their friendship it is a version Ellie doesn’t remember. Has Ellie Lost her mind and if not why does the families she love so much in the town she grew up in act like she has. This book was so good it will have you questioning what is happening and even when you think you know what’s going on the author brings it back and has you questioning it all over again. Jody Harris gave a great performance I love her narration she does the different character so well but I do want to say the reason I didn’t give this book all five stars is because even though I get why she put the last chapter I really thought the book jumped the shark adding that to it. Minus that however this is a great great awesome thriller. #NetGalley,#Dream skate media, #JodyHarris, #NicolaSanders, #Don’tBelieveHer,

A twisty ride full of the most convincing red herrings - so fun!

Premise - Ellie’s best friend, Carla, disappeared years ago and now she’s engaged to Carla’s brother, Nick, and living with his/their mom, Marjorie. Ellie isp convinced Carla is dead, but Nick has secretly hired a private detective to find her - and he does! Via Facebook post? lol. Anyway, Carla returns as a complete glamazon, having allegedly lived a fab life in Paris all these years… but new Carla doesn’t seem quite right to Ellie. Is this woman really Carla and if not, who is she?

Everyone is dishonest, everyone has something to hide, so even when you think you’ve figured it out you don’t have the full picture. This domestic thriller was a blast!

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Jodie Harris. Harris’ voice (and accent) are incredibly charming and her performance is even better - energetic, varied, and nuanced, it brings the fast-paced, tension-packed story to life!

Thanks, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

All I can say is Wow!! This book is a wild ride!

Don’t Believe Her is full of so many unexpected twists and turns. Every time you think you have it figured out, there’s another twist and you have it all wrong. If you love Freida McFadden and similar authors, this should be your next read!

Whew that ending twist!

I found myself going back and forth on what I believe and loved the unreliable narrator premise. The storyline was very far fetched, but very entertaining nonetheless. I had my suspicions throughout, but I was only half right! I love a good twist.

I listened at 2x, and it was the perfect speed. The narrator was great!

A good story & audiobook.

Don’t Believe Her by Nicola Sanders hooked me from the start and kept me intrigued all the way through. This gripping psychological thriller unravels the perfect facade of a seemingly happy life, as secrets from the past resurface with chilling consequences. Ellie’s joy at her fiancé’s sister, Carla, returning after twelve years quickly turns to suspicion when unsettling inconsistencies begin to emerge. As her concerns are dismissed by everyone around her, the tension escalates, creating a haunting sense of isolation and mistrust. With an eerie atmosphere and a slow-building sense of dread, this story pulls the reader into a web of mystery and deception, making them question who can truly be trusted.

The story is filled with twists and turns that kept me questioning what was truly happening. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, another twist threw me off balance, keeping me fully engaged until the very end.

Jodie Harris narrates the audiobook, and she is simply magnificent. Her voice brings depth to the characters, pulling the listener right into the story. If you’re a fan of Imogene Church, you’ll absolutely adore Harris. She adds a layer of tension and emotion that amplifies the suspenseful narrative, making the experience even more captivating.

Having read several books by Nicola Sanders, I can confidently say this one does not disappoint. It’s a thrilling ride with a strong storyline and plenty of unexpected turns.

Thank you NetGalley, Nicola Sanders, and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to and review Don’t Believe Her.

Don’t Believe Her was a 4 star read for me! 🤔

This is a mystery that takes many turns. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I realized quickly I didn’t. While I appreciated the plot twists, the only downfall I had was it being just a little slow and lack of character development.

Would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a crazy story!!
