To start off thank you Netgalley and Kristy Boyce for the ARC! This book had all the right levels of D&D and romance! I read Dungeons and Drama and I couldn’t put it down. Getting the opportunity to read Dating and Dragons was amazing!! Quinn and Logan are my absolute favorite! But hear me out Grandma over here being the sneaky self she was throughout this book just made it ten times better! If you have a love for role playing games and romance than I would highly recommend this book! It has such a balanced level of both but you also can’t help but fall in love with the characters and how they develop throughout the book!

I've heard so many wonderful things about Dungeons and Drama, so I was really excited to dive into this one.
As someone who's never played D&D before, I was worried I might not connect with the story. But to my surprise, the D&D sessions and all the intricate details drew me right in. However, the romance between Quinn and Logan didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It relied on an insta-love connection, which is usually a challenge for me unless it develops further as the story progresses. Sadly, that build-up wasn’t there, and I struggled to feel much chemistry between them. Their relationship lacked the emotional depth that could have made their connection feel more meaningful to me. The plot itself was also quite predictable, and at times, it felt like not much was happening.
Yet despite these points, the found-family theme really stood out and made the story memorable. The supporting characters brought warmth and depth, especially the hilarious grandma, who added a lot of charm to the story. So, while it wasn’t a perfect read for me, there were moments I really enjoyed, and I’m still interested in reading Dungeons and Drama because so many people seem to love it.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Children's - Delacorte Romance for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not into D&D but I love fantasy and a "nerd" romance sounded like a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this book, though near the end I admittedly got irritated with the main characters and wanted to finish it just to see how it ended. To say that I was invested would be an understatement. The book also made D&D sound kind of fun, though I am way too intimidated to try. It will probably have me looking for more D&D themed stories though!

Kristy Boyce is back with her completely bingeable YA romances centered around Dungeons and Dragons! While this is 100% a YA read, there is just something about a D&D group starting a new campaign, teenagers completely being themselves, a meddling grandma, and a budding new romance that just always slaps for me. If you enjoyed Dungeons and Drama, then definitely add this one to your list!
We have a new group of friends, lots of super enjoyable campaign time, and all the emotions that come with being a teenager trying to fit in after a midyear move. I will say while I really enjoy the D&D time in these stories, Quinn’s grandma completely stole the show for me. I could read a whole story about her life alone! The meddling grandma trope (I don’t know if that is a thing, but if it’s not it should be) is one of my all-time favorites. Nothing will make me swoon quite like a love interest that also loves grandmas.
Pick this one up if you like:
-Dungeons and Dragons! We get a lot of on page time explaining the ins and outs of the dynamics of a group as well as get to see some player development and campaign time.
-Loveable Grandmas
-Pickleball
-YA romances. While I know I am not the target audience for this story, I still found it quite enjoyable
-Slow Burn. Our two main characters fight their feelings for most of the story but it plays out nicely!
-Cozy, sweet, bingeable reads

I think I enjoyed Dungeons & Drama more than this D&D installment from Boyce, but it was still a good time for a YA rom-com. The two main characters romantic connection was a little too strong after too little time for my taste, but in the grand scheme of the story, I could ignore it and enjoy it for what it was. I’ll probably pick up Kristy Boyce’s next novel if it’s in the same D&D rom-com vein as these previous two. All in all a fun and light read!
Thank you Delacorte Romance and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I adored it! I read the first one, Dungeons and Drama, and it was so easy to get into, so when I saw there was a sequel, I instantly wanted to dive in. I loved the slow burn and banter. The rivals-to-lovers vibes were perfect, and the found family trope was terrific. I loved the tie into DND

This was such a cute book! I am thankful to have gotten an eARC for free from Netgalley and Delacorte Romance to enjoy which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.
I had read Dungeons and Drama a few months ago when I was looking for a quick read from the library. It pulled me in as both a DND player and theatre director so
It was a perfect fit.
I had assumed this was a sequel when I saw it on NetGalley so I requested it right away only to find out that it’s not connected at all! At first I was a little
Disappointed as it would have been so easy to connect them
but now I ended up enjoying it for its own merit!
I really enjoyed that the author really delved into the playing mechanics of the game. DND is a popular mention right now in books and cinema but it’s just that.. a cheeky mention so it was nice to have a book really delve in while still maintaining its plot goals.
I liked all the summaries between the characters as they are very “real”. It’s definitely a YA book but I think gamers who like romance, especially clean romance of all ages will enjoy this. However, there is a bit too many subplots thrown in and the romance does get a little annoying with the “no dating” rule. The interactions at time are just silly but maybe that’s because they are 16.
The book comes out December 31 2024. So start next year off with a critical success/ Nat 20 and grab yourself a copy!
My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

If you thought this would be like Dungeons and Drama you are wrong, but that's not a bad thing. This book is way more heavily DND focused and gets into the game a lot more. It’s cute, but felt really juvenile.

Kristy Boyce returns with another D&D-centric romance, but rather than the fake-dating we saw in the wonderful Dungeons and Drama, we instead are treated to a will-they wont-they romance within a group that has a strict no-dating-group-members rule. . Quinn has just moved towns, leaving behind her school and her ex-friend group after a disastrous date with a guy from her last D&D group. Now, she determined to make a good group of friends and not let anything--not even romantic feelings towards the cute boy she meets on the first day of school--get in her way. Quinn quickly integrates into a new friend group--and their D&D group that they livestream every Saturday. Everything is going great, except for the fact that Logan is there and he admits his growing feelings for Quinn. Add in a spunky grandmother, a cute baby cow, and some fun D&D role-playing, and this romance is a recipe for a great time. Quinn's struggle with working through the pain of her last friend group kicking her out--and the betrayal of her previous best friend--makes Quinn's hesitancy and motivations very understandable and very real. Logan is an all-around sweet guy who loves his friends and family, and he has some very romantic one-liners that would make any girl squeal. On the other hand, his attraction to Quinn did feel a little like insta-love, and I felt the story was lacking in seeing why exactly he liked her from the very beginning, since they almost never interacted at school. There were also a few lines that the author relied on a little too heavily, as I noticed them repeated several times throughout the story (namely, "its as if we were the only two people in the world".
I appreciated that Quinn's family also showed some growth over the course of the story, as they came to show interest and support in Quinn's non-sporty interests. And her brother especially was a character I didn't care for at first, but I kinda warmed up to him by the end. Oh, and the book really made me want pancakes!
Overall, a fun read. I personally enjoyed Dungeons and Drama more, but if you liked that book, or just want a nerdy romance, then this book should hit the spot.

This book was an absolute delight. I love how D&D is really spanning the generations. The book deals with several elements of growing up and being a teen that I felt were handled really well. The romance in this was age appropriate and so sweet. I also love the importance of friendship in this and how that was as big a part of the plot as the romance was.

Cure and mythical, needy and fun absolutely adore this series and need way more of it yesterday also the voice of this author is killer

I absolutely love this series! Such a sweet heartfelt story. Fun love story for us fellow nerds. Makes me want to get into Dungeons and Dragons.

So cute! I loved reading this sweet, light romance. The characters were fun, the relationship between the MC and her grandmother was great (the grandma was amazing!), and I enjoyed learning more about D & D.

I had a lot of fun with this read. I felt the characters were flushed out well and the plot was entertaining. I am finding that I may actually like some D&D romance. :) I will be recommending!

Kristy, what do you put in these books? I’m 8 chapters in and my cheeks hurt from smiling.
Quinn is the new girl at school and Grandma is embarrassing her on day one. Luckily it’s in front of nice, non-judgmental kids! Who all turn out to be a part of a DND group that live-streams their sessions. Quinn is quickly offered a spot in their campaign— small rule: no dating other players in the group. Which wouldn’t be a problem, except the cute boy (Logan) she met on her first day is in the group. Logan was nice and friendly on day one but the instantly Quinn shows up for DND he’s standoffish… is it because he’s upset her joining means she’s off limits?????
Omg omg omg this book is my drug— I’m kicking my feet from the start. All the characters are great and I love seeing the friendship element. The DND sessions are equally entertaining. But the bickering between Quinn and Logan?? CHEF’s KISS!
I started this book before bed at 9pm… kept saying “one more chapter” until 2:30am and it was finished!! Such a fun, cute book!

I'm a huge fan of Dungeons and Drama and Boyce's new book Dating and Dragons is equally as cute and entertaining. Although I am not all familiar with the world of D&D, I appreciate that Boyce makes it accessible--as a teenager, I would have loved to read more books like this! This book takes on a slightly more serious tone than her previous book. Quinn is juggling young adulthood and family problems with her aging grandmother. Quinn is an interesting main character and I enjoyed getting to watch her grow and change throughout the story. The romance and friendship between Quinn and Logan had me at the edge of my seat and the slow burn had me kicking me feet in the air the entire time!

This would have been one of my nerdy teenage selfs favorite books, adult me is going to give it 5 stars and reccomend that you make it available to all of the nerdy/geeky teens in your life.

Dating and Dragons is absolutely stellar! This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and Kristy Boyce does not disappoint. The characters are sweet, the story is engaging, and the banter is so well written. Quinn's family and friendship struggles are genuine and make the book feel like more than a cute YA romcom. The multiple layers of the characters (particularly Quinn's grandma) makes me care about each and every one of their lives and issues. These standalones are some of my favorite books.

This is a feel good, wholesome romance that had me smiling and swooning. I really liked the characters in this one and they felt true to their age. I like that Quinn's grandma was trying to play sly matchmaker and making convenient excuses to run into Logan. I am a gamer, but have never played D&D although I know the general idea. I think this book explains the nature of D&D without making it overshadow the rest of the story. Overall I was really impressed with this book and it's a cozy, sweet story that is great for all ages.
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children's | Delacorte Romance for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had the absolute pleasure of reading Dungeons and Drama, so I was beyond excited to get the opportunity to request to read this title. After such a delightful read, I requested this as soon as it became available.
After moving to a new high school, Quinn is desperate for friends. So what does one do? She joins a D&D group! This group has their own livestream and some serious rules to follow, including not dating any other group members. with their own livestream and serious rules—most no dating fellow party members. So what is Quinn to do when sparks fly with a cute but irritating fellow player?
I loved the drama of this book, as I expect a book about a 16 year old to be. And I am an absolute sucker for gamer references and content, as a fellow gamer myself. I found this every bit as enjoyable and delightful as the previous one. I'm grateful to have been chosen to read this one as well.
