This was such a lovely little YA romance! I loved how authentically Quinn and Logan grew together as well as Quinn’s personal struggle to grow and adapt in her new setting! This book really focuses on family, friendship, and transitioning into new stages of life through the lens of a high school DnD group!
I do wish we got to know more about Mark, Sloane, and Sanjiv. There was so much good DnD campaign scenes and you can see the banter between the characters, but I kept wanting to know more about Mark and Sloane’s characterization! I think it would’ve expanded the whole scope of the DnD group as a whole more!
But I think Kashvi and Quinn’s friendship was so real and authentic and I loved the relationships between all the characters and their siblings! This is an adorable, nerdy romance that any young adult would have fun with!

this book was such an easy and delightful read. Part of me was hoping it was a direct sequel to Dungeons and Drama, but I was surprised that it was a completely different set of teens. therefore, this book can be a standalone.
I also liked that this book had such a strong message of friendship as the new group did everything they could to protect the protagonist, even without knowing all of the details.
The romance tension was done just right for a clean romance and YA book. I actually love seeing the build up like this.
Overall such a cute book and beautiful cover.
I plan to share this title with my instagram followers a few days before publication in December.

Oh my gosh I’m obsessed with this series! These characters are so cute, and Kristy has the ability to write teenagers perfectly. The teenage angst is written so well, and these characters feel so realistic. It’s so much fun, and seeing Quinn connect with these friends was so nostalgic. Finding a group like that and doing something you love together, is truly such a joy and getting to see Quinn do that in a new town and get past the drama of an old friend group is so good to see, I almost feel like a proud parent watching her. Just like I said about Dungeons and Drama, this book reads like a Disney channel movie in the absolute best way! The writing style is right up my alley, the characters are fun, the story is nostalgic, and I’m thrilled that I was able to snag an arc copy from NetGalley! Thank you to NetGalley, and Random House for the opportunity to ARC read this latest story in the DnD series!

Quinn's journey into the world of D&D is a whirlwind of emotions, and I couldn't help but feel every twist and turn. Her chemistry with Logan is electric, igniting a tension that kept me on the edge of my seat. Their banter? Pure gold! It’s the kind of playful back-and-forth that makes your heart race and your cheeks flush. But beneath the witty repartee lies a deeper exploration of connection and vulnerability. Quinn’s struggle to find her place while navigating this complicated friendship felt so real, reminding me of my own high school days. The stakes are high, and the twenty-sided dice are only part of the thrill, it's the risk of opening up and the fear of heartbreak that makes this story resonate. I was utterly captivated by their journey, and I can’t get enough!

Book Review: Dating and Dragons by Kristy Boyce
Dating and Dragons by Kristy Boyce is the delightful teenage romance I wish I had read in high school! Filled with humor, charm, and heart-fluttering moments, this book is a wonderful addition to her Dungeons and Drama series. Boyce masterfully weaves a relatable teenage world brimming with budding romance, D&D livestreams, meddling grandmas, and an adorable baby cow.
In this story, we meet Quinn Norton, a teenager navigating the challenges of moving to a new town and starting at a new school. With the loving and humorous support of her spirited Grandma, Barbara, Quinn’s first day takes an unexpected turn when Barbara insists on capturing the moment with a photo. Enter Logan Weber, who steps in to help—and this seemingly simple act sparks an adventure for Quinn as she makes new friends, joins a new D&D group, and bravely confronts her past.
Reviewer's Overall Thoughts:
• Boyce’s portrayal of teenage life is both believable and relatable. The diverse cast of characters feels authentic, and I genuinely enjoyed getting to know them. I’m hoping some of these characters return in future installments!
• As a newcomer to Dungeons and Dragons, I was captivated by the way the livestream sessions were depicted. The chapters focusing on these sessions became my favorites, brimming with excitement, fun, and unexpected turns.
• Geared towards a younger audience, the romance is tastefully handled and age appropriate. The balance between romantic elements and the overarching plot is skillfully maintained, which I greatly appreciated while reading.
In summary, Dating and Dragons is a charming, heartfelt read that appeals to both teenagers and older readers alike. For older readers, especially fans of books like Ali Hazelwood’s Love Theoretically or Love Hypothesis, I believe this book is thoroughly enjoyable and I highly encourage you to check it out. I look forward to reading future books in this series!!
Thank you to Random House Children’s Publishing, Delacorte Romance, and to NetGalley for this electronic advanced reader copy of the book and the opportunity to submit a review.

Kristy, my girl, where were you when I was a teen in desperate need of YA novels like this? I wish I had something this wholesome and healing when i was going through the throes of puberty. I knew i loved Kristy after Dungeons and Drama, but this has cemented my status as her number one fan (seriously, I’m making t-shirts, hit me up about it)
This story was delightful, I adored both main characters (i think they were so much more relatable and likable than her first book). And even though reading about high school kids tossing around the L word (love—not lesbians, though I’m here for that) isn’t usually my jam… dang it. it if this wasn’t the most entertaining, adorable story. I stayed up much too late, kicking my feet at the witty banter and the sweet sweet slow-burn tension. Can’t recommend this enough for any fans of D&D, YA, slow-burn, forbidden romances.
Thank you so much, Kristy and Random House for the ARC. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next! (please let it be NA D&D romance!)

I received an ARC of Dungeons & Dating by Kristy Boyce, and I definitely liked it more than her first book, Dungeons & Drama. The main characters in this one were a lot more likable, and I really enjoyed their dynamic as they tried to navigate their feelings without disrupting their D&D group.
That being said, the book could have been a lot shorter. If they were adults, a simple conversation about their feelings could have saved a lot of drama. But since it’s a high school setting, everything felt like a huge deal when, in reality, their friends just wanted them to be happy. I really appreciated how Quinn's friends had her back when her old D&D group started bullying her online.
Logan’s relationship with Quinn's grandmother was sweet at times, though a bit over the top in others. And the accidental livestream confession? Cute, but I definitely had an "ugh, high schoolers" moment. All in all, it’s a really cute book, and a big step up from the last one, though I still think it could have been trimmed down. If you're into sweet YA romances with a D&D twist, this one’s worth checking out!

This was a beautifully done Dungeons and Dragons romance novel, it had that element that I wanted and enjoyed about D&D. The characters were wonderfully written and enjoyed the romance element to this. Kristy Boyce was able to write a strong story and characters that I cared about. I really enjoyed the way the cover was portrayed and how it worked with the story.

I was hooked from the first chapter and I absolutely loved this! Cute and fluffy, slow burn ya romance. I could read 100 of these DnD books I swear! Also, Quinn’s grandma reminds me so much of my own when she was alive and it was an extra reason to love this book. If you liked the first book, I think you’ll like this one. You could also read this one first since they’re not connected! Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this as an ARC.

This book has my entire heart. I loved it so much! The side characters, the banter, the tension, the dnd (shocking I know). I just loved this book because Quinn and Logan are too cute. Barbara is freaking hilarious.

I know next to nothing about dungeons and dragons but after reading this I’m very interested! I was lucky enough to get an arc from NetGalley and I loved this book. The banter between Quinn and Logan is so fun. The whole group of friends are just want you’d want in your own circle of friends. And the grandmother is the most fun ever. She just can’t help but to push Quinn and Logan together. Will be reading more from this author!

To say I was pumped to read this is understating my intense excitement. Reading this book made me so stinking happy; just like Dungeons and Drama did. For this story, we follow Quinn as she navigates moving into a new school mid-school year (sounds absolutely dreadful). Her spunky and fabulous grandma provides a cringy (for Quinn) icebreaker for a group of kids before Quinn’s first day of school. Quinn spots a set of d20 earrings and has her wondering if they have the same fav hobby as her.
This book is really, really cute. It provides amazing examples of positive friendships, parental/grandparent relationships, and sibling relationships. It does have a different overall vibe from Dungeons. The driving conflict and relationship plot lines are different; it didn’t feel repetitive to me at all. I’m still very mad at myself for not getting into D&D in high school.
Dating and Dragons is completely separate from Dungeons. There’s no wrong order to read them either - absolutely standalone with D&D as a main theme for both. I’m a big fan of both and recommended both of them.
A BIG thank you to NetGalley, Kristy Boyce, and Random House Children’s for this eARC!

You don’t have to play Dungeons and Dragons to love this book, but I imagine it makes it extra special. This one goes into the D&D world a little bit more than Dungeons and Drama so if that’s something you were hoping for, definitely give this a read.
And if you don’t play D&D or care too much about it, read this anyway. I promise it’s worth it. It’s cute and funny and just screams high school. Every single character in here is lovable, but my favorite was Quinn’s grandma. She’s strong willed and unapologetic and never failed to make me laugh.
I wasn’t as immediately hooked as I was with Dungeons and Drama, but once I was in, I was in. Enough to make me consider giving this 5 stars 😅 I’m so excited for this one to be released!
One sentence description: Quinn’s family moves and she makes friends while joining a D&D group, but they have a rule that no one within the group can date each other, and she is having a really hard time staying away from the very cute Logan.

In a similar vein to Dungeons and Drama, this book takes unique characters and crafts an equally delightful story. The story is crafted really well. I hope to see these books continue!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Quinn Norton hopes to make friends at her new school by joining a D&D group, especially since it includes the charming Logan Weber. But as their playful banter turns into something deeper, Quinn must navigate the group's strict dating rules and decide if she's willing to break them for a chance at love.
This book was just as cute as Dungeons and Drama! I loved Quinn and I thought she was such a fun character. She was quirky in a very endearing way, and I loved her sense of style. Her romance with Logan was so sweet - he sure knows how to make a girl swoon!! Plus their banter was off the charts.
Equally as wonderful was the friend group. I adored them and how quickly Quinn became a part of the game. I loved their vibes. They were such a great group of teens. Not only that - but Quinn’s grandma was fantastic and so funny. I loved how she schemed. I also adored her love of Logan. Quinn’s parents and brother also watching the livestreams had me emotional.
That first kiss was electric!!! I swear I felt it in my bones. It was so sweet and yet full of passion. And that epilogue are you joking!!!! I want another book about the retirement home and teaching them how to play.
Loved it!! Comes out in December so make sure you grab a copy!

this was a sweet and easy read, I was able to binge it in one sitting!
Quinn is the new girl at school and finds herself welcomed into a group of D&D players. there were many moments that made me smile. I loved the family and friend relationships represented and how wonderful they were to Quinn. I really felt like I was part of the group when they would play D&D and having their games live-streamed added such a fun layer to the plot!
this is perfect for fans and lovers of D&D and for anyone who just wants a fun read! at times it felt really juvenile, but seeing as the target audience is YA that fits perfectly.
big thanks to Netgalley for giving me access to the ARC!

this was so cute, cheesy, and sweet. it’s a shorter read and a forbidden ya romance with d&d. quinn’s grandma also a top tier character who brought tons of humor. definitely would recommend.

4⭐️
Pre read: I was drawn to the beautiful cover, even though I knew nothing about Dungeons & Dragons.
This book turned out to be so adorable! I thought I was over YA books, but this one had me giggling and kicking my feet like crazy. I absolutely loved the sweet little moments between the characters, especially with the touch of forbidden romance—it made everything even cuter. The friendships were also such a strong part of the story, and I couldn’t get enough of how genuine they felt. Logan’s love for Quinn was incredibly heartwarming; they would totally be the perfect high school sweethearts. Overall, this book was just a joy to read, and I adored every part of it!

3⭐️: When Quinn’s family moves to be closer to her grandmother, Quinn must make new friends in the middle of the school year. She finds a group of friends to play D&D with who take the game very seriously and have a no dating rule. When sparks fly between her another player, they must fight their feelings to keep the group together.
Kristy Boyce does an amazing job at writing YA romance. I would have devoured this book in high school. Logan and Quinn have some cute moments together that just makes the reader smile. I have never played D&D before but I surprisingly loved the in depth detail of how they were playing the game.
My main issue with this book was too much happening for its length. The grandmother (all though adorable), the descriptions of game play, all of the different friends, and the issues with Quinn’s past D&D group took away from allowing us to see Logan and Quinn’s relationship grow. They really went from instant attraction to saying I love you in no time. I also would have loved to see Quinn stand up for herself with her old friends.
Overall, if you are into YA and D&D, I would recommend this book to you.

This is an incredibly cute book! I love how the story includes an exploration of friendships and important real life issues along with the gaming and romance. The characters are very relatable which makes it easy to fall in love with them. And the story is super fun and sweet. If you like YA romance with humor and heart then this is for you. I highly recommend it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for allowing me to read this book ahead of release in exchange for my honest opinion.
