This is a historical romance
Jasper and his siblings lost their older brother and parents to scarlet fever last year, and now Jasper is the Earl of Belhaven. While him and his sisters were walkin the grounds of the estate, they saw the body of an unconscious woman, so Jasper took her to their home Mulgrave Hall manor to get her to feel better, but she woke a lil askin them to keep her safe from the people chasin her. When the woman wakes, she has no memory of her name or even where she came from. She has amnesia. She wanted a name, so they gonna call her Jane. Jasper swore off love when his family passed and his fiance, until he stumbled upon Jane, and he started havin feelings for her the lady with amnesia. Jasper and Jane can feel a pull towards each other, but they keep pushin each other away. But u can tell they both like each other. When Jane gets her memory back, will they still have a pull towards each other, or will they go their separate ways. This is a really good historical book. And it shows all the ways people deal with grief.
Thanks, NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for this ARC.

Absolutely loved this read! I couldn’t put it down! It had short chapters and funny characters which makes for easy reading. Multiple POVs. Love Jane and Jasper soooo much lol. Definitely recommend reading this book!

I have always enjoyed historical romance, and A Lady Would Know Better has taken a spot at the top of the list for this genre. The premise was such a unique one with mystery and intrigue throughout.
Jane is found by the Lord Belhaven and his sisters on his property having been thrown from a horse and with no recollection of how she got there or who she is. I loved how fiery and independent she was from the start (I love a witty FMC). The way she was able to bring Jasper and his sisters out of the darkness of the grief of losing so many people close to them was refreshing. Bit by bit she had them opening up and happy she was around. Jasper fought an internal war since he was immediately drawn to her, but felt a responsibility to his late fiancee to never love again. Jasper knew he needed to protect her until she was able to regain her memory, but also kept pushing her away for fear he would fall too hard and not be able to walk away.
Without giving away any of the mystery as to what occurred before her memory loss due to her injury, I loved the story behind it. In an era where women really didn't have freedom unless the men in their life afforded it, it's easy to see how desperate someone could become to escape the control society held upon them.
The way the entire Maycott family came to her aid and embraced her as a member of their family was so refreshing.
When all is finally revealed as to who Jane actually is and the danger that she was initially trying to escape comes back, I held my breath to see how it would play out. I definitely didn't see the resolution as it played out, but was really happy with the narrative choice made.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Emma Theriault in the future!

I want to First say that I am extremely thankful that I was selected to read this ARC.
This book had some really great elements including mystery, passion, self-discovery, and family ties. I enjoyed reading this book because the balance between all the different elements were equal. Not one of them overshadowed the other and each discovery left me wanting more! The family dynamic and growing together and finding themselves again in conjunction with their mystery guest, brought everything full circle.
I would definitely recommend this book!

After the Earl of Belhaven finds a mystery woman in the snow, she wakes up for everyone to realize she has no memory of who she is or where she’s from. Cute story and I really enjoyed trying to figure out who “Jane” is. The burn was verrryyy slow though and I think the book could have been a little shorter. But overall enjoyed it!

Damsel in distress meets Bridgerton! Not the type of book I usually entertain however I'm very thankful for Entangled Publishing's e-Arc through NetGalley.
This historical romance was so very well written, it was easy to fall into step with Jane and Jasper as they navigated difficult pasts and life struggles in the 1870s. The siblings and Aunt Adelaide were also very well developed and added depth to the storyline and different perspective to keep us the reader grounded. Although it was fairly obvious the main characters would fall in love, it was very nice to see that Emma stayed within the expectations of women during that time period.
The chapters were short and presented through multiple points of views without breaking the story as the transitions were seamless, a very pleasant and easy read. I look forward to Mrs. Theriault's next book as she has open my eyes to a genre I never really thought I'd like.

The description of this book sounded very interesting to me, but I was hesitant because I have always kind of studied with any sort of historical fiction, in this case regency fiction being included. However, it kept my attention. I don't know how true to the time period it actually was, there were some parts that to me seemed like the wouldn't have been quite right, however. I am not an historian and like i said this isn't even my usual genre. But the plot was unique. A woman with amnesia. Tied with a not so unique love story. A man who has loved and lost and is hesitant to love again.
Review not posted to social media yet. Will once it is closer to release date. Will post to amazon, goodreads and tiktok

This book was a bit tricky to rate. I found it a 3 star reading experience for me as I think my expectation didn't match what I thought this book would be. However I think that a 4 star is also a fair rating in terms of the quality of writing.
I went into this book thinking it would have a bit of mystery solving and Martha Waters-style banter. Instead this book was an insta-lust but low burn push/pull romance which isn't compelling for me. In fact I found it dragged on and while there was some banter it just didn't go anywhere. So, I think for those who don't mind constant internal monologues about how Jasper can't let go of his vow never to marry while lusting for Jane, then you'd enjoy this book. I'm afraid its just not the vibes that work for me. I'd much have preferred the attraction to come later and a bit more of the Maycrofts and Jane working out who she is.
So while I found the plot development and the central romance storyline weak, this book was well-written. The depiction of grief and the guilt loved ones have about moving on was well conveyed. I also appreciated the acknowledgement of the subjugation of women and the lack of freedoms Jasper's sisters have compared to him and his brothers. The supporting characters were all fantastic as well - from Aunt Adelaide to Jasper's siblings and his friends. I'm going to assume there will be more of the sibling and while this book was a miss for me, I will still read the author's next book.
Thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was such a fun ride! Loss of memory, staying with a duke and going against etiquette is only the beginning of this story. I laughed out loud so many times, this was so great.

Nothing I love more than a great historical romance and this one was a huge hit for me. The slow burn was a bit too slow maybe. But that’s my personal taste. No reflective of the book. I enjoyed the banter and multiple POVs.
I felt the book was whitty and engaging. Would definitely recommend to my historical romances reader friends

I want to thank Entangled for the opportunity to receive and ARC of this book! I highly enjoyed it.
This reminds me of a historical romance with some awesome Bridgerton vibes! I listened to the Bridgerton soundtrack actually while I was reading :)
You meet the FMC who had been seriously injured when she falls off her horse and is found and rescued by the Earl of Belhaven. He takes her back to their house to allow her to heal but they grow close to one another through their past traumas.
This was such a great book and the authors writing makes you want to keep reading. It is a slow burn! But the tension and banter between the two characters is written so well.

4 ⭐️
A Lady Would Know Better was a really sweet historical romance. A woman with amnesia is rescued by a handsome Earl and his family, and proves that love can help overcome grief. The banter between Jane and Jasper was top notch, and their tension was as tight as a bow string for so much of the book. It made their HEA even better! And I really loved the respect that they showed each other - respect for their families and loved ones they’d lost - instead of jealousy.
Jasper’s sisters, especially Isobel, were great side characters. I’d really love a second book where Isobel gets to find her own true love, someone who can handle her sass and wits and discerning Aunt Adelaide.
I was lucky enough to receive a NetGalley ARC of this book from Entangled Publishing to participate in their Insiders read along. Thank you Entangled Amara! This review is my honest opinion.

I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.

I enjoyed The book. Jane and Jasper were great characters. Jasper's family and friends were also wonderful supporting characters. First book by this authorfor me and I can't wait to read more.

This was so cute & fun!!! I haven’t read a period romance in ages and I forgot how much I love them until this book. Our MMC is a bit broody and hard on himself with an “I can save her” attitude which means of course I loved him instantly. Our FMC is witty and strong despite her circumstances and not only do I think that’s amazing but of course, I adore her immediately. As for the supporting cast, mainly all our MMC’s siblings, I am obsessed and entertained to no end. If you’re looking for a fun and cute period holiday romance look no further, this is it.

A swoon worthy romance that reminds you of a Jane Austen or Bridgerton plot.
With captivating characters the story was engaging and interesting.
I loved the slow burn aspect.
I loved the family dynamics.
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Wow. Just wow.
I had a little bit of a struggle getting into this one at first, because historical fiction isn't one that I normally read. However, I loved the concept of this story which is why I really wanted to read it. Once I really got going with the story, I didn't want to stop reading it. I wanted to know what was going to happen. There are twists in there, that I never would have guessed.
The whole cast of characters was beautifully done. You could feel the different personalities of everyone. Settings were described very well, that you were able to get a good sense of how everything looked. You weren't just told the floor was made of wood and the walls were painted. You were given details to be able to mentally picture where you are.

*Thank you to Entangled Publishing for this ARC*
I don't read a lot of historical romance, but I do LOVE Jane Austen and Bridgerton, so was excited to receive this book. The story, especially the romance, was a super slow burn - and felt like it took forever to get there. There was a lot of push and pull between the MMC and FMC, and whilst I enjoyed both characters, it was a LOT.
I did enjoy the plot line, a young lady is found unconscious and rescued, she doesn't remember who she is etc, this was well done, I enjoyed that aspect of the plot and the developing relationship between "Jane", Jasper and the family. Overall if I think if you enjoy the JA/Bridgerton vibe, you'll enjoy this book and its worth picking up! Thanks Entangled for letting me enjoy this book!

The new Earl of Belhaven, Jasper, and his siblings at Mulgrave Hall have experienced tragedy and have been grieving for the past year. On the birthday of their deceased mother, while out on a walk to her grave, they discover an injured woman unconscious and bleeding in the snow. She briefly wakes up to indicate she is in danger but then passes back out. They discover she is suffering from amnesia, not remembering anything, including her name, so they begin to call her Jane and try to help her recuperate physically and mentally.
Jane is a very mysterious character, and we are left guessing most of the story as to who she is and her background. She develops meaningful relationships with each of the siblings, and with them helping her try to heal, she is also helping them heal from their grief. There is also immediate attraction between Jasper and Jane, but due to decorum, the past, and uncertainty of Jane's status or identity, Jasper is cautious with his feelings and self sabotages to prevent any further exploration of an emotional connection.
I enjoyed this story, and the plot kept me intrigued by wanting to solve the mystery of Jane. There was a budding romance as well, which gave this a slow burn vibe, which I'm very partial to reading. There were also plenty of other characters introduced in which spin-off stories could be created, which makes me excited to see what this writer comes up with next!

The beginning of this book had potential, but there was a lot of back story given before the actual story had a chance to take off. I had a hard time getting into it because of all the “extra” happening before the plot began. Then, there were historical inaccuracies that got distracting, too. However, it was a cute story to enjoy, once I could get past some of those distractions.
