I’ve never read one of Roger’s books, and getting the opportunity to experience the first book in the Agent Tori Hunter series on audio was one I could pass up. I loved Tori’s character. She becomes an FBI agent because she loses her sister at a young age. This book brings her back to her hometown to investigate another missing girl. I loved Kate’s narration. She does a great job helping the listener connect with Tori. I’m dying to read more of this series.
Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for my copy of this book.

When FBI agent Tori Hunter is drawn back to her hometown after a teenage girl goes missing in a manner eerily similar to her sister’s disappearance, she knows it’s time to uncover the person responsible for taking these girls. Along the way, she'll have to confront painful truths and face difficult challenges, all while working alongside the charming local detective. As tensions rise, so do Tori’s emotions and attraction. Will she be able to overcome her past and the obstacles in her way to find the person behind the abductions?
The opening chapter instantly drew me in, but as the story progressed, I struggled to stay engaged with the characters and the plot. The narrative seemed to linger too much on the romance angle, which distracted from the mystery. The ending also felt predictable and clichéd. Despite this, I’m still curious to see how Agent Tori develops throughout the series and whether she can navigate the path she ultimately chooses.
*Thank you to Roger Stelljes, Bookouture Audio and Netgalley for the audio copy. I am freely leaving my honest review.

Silenced Girls had a great start—intriguing premise and strong setup that immediately pulled me in. However, the middle of the book felt too long and dragged a bit, which made it harder to stay fully engaged. While the beginning and end were solid, the pacing in the middle really slowed things down. Overall, it was a decent read with a strong start but could’ve been tighter. i was keen on the narration either.

I will immediately be reading the other books in this series! This was a thrilling read that kept me on the edge of my seat. I appreciated the lack of graphic details, but there were still enough to get the point across. I had plenty of theories throughout this book. I truly could not figure out how it was going to end until the conclusion!

I listened to the audio book version of this book, and I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. The narration was so well done. Roger Stelljes did an excellent job writing this book. The characters and plot line were so well done. There were twist that had me on the edge of my seat. I was hooked from the beginning, and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Thank you Net Galley, Bookouture Audio, and Roger Stelljes

I feel the overall story was good and I enjoyed it but the audiobook was so long. I had to take breaks from it. Besides that it was a decent book.

I enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing. Closer to the end I was able to figure out who did it, before it was actually revealed, but it was still a good read.
Tori is lured home 20 years after her twin sisters disappearance, to help solve a case that is very similar. She has to face a lot of truths about the towns people along the way. While helping Will, the towns Chief Detective sold the current crime, she is also able to begin solving her sister's crime from long ago.
I liked the twist and turns the story took. It led you to keep changing your mind on who might have done it. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This was a wild ride and I was totally here for it! Agent Tori Hunter makes this book really come together and I can't wait to read more about her in future books! This was my 1st book by Roger Stelljes but it will certainly not be my last. I am adding all of his books to my TBR!

Silenced Girls - 3.5 Stars
I really enjoyed the overall plot of this book. I loved that Tori came back to her home town to investigate a missing girl while knowing it was linked to her own sister's disappearance. That was such an engaging way to start the book. I thought that Tori and Will made a great team and I really enjoyed seeing them grow closer as the book progressed. You could definitely feel the trust building between them.
While there were certain aspects of this book that I really enjoyed, there were also a few things that really let it down. The biggest one being the length. It was waaaay too long. There were so many times whilst I was reading that I had the thought 'Why is this even in here? This really isn't necessary.'. The parts when Tori had to leave to go to her actual job had little to no relevance to the story. It just felt like a waste of time and words. I think the book definitely could have been 100 pages shorter.
This is probably more of a me thing, but I found the police aspects of this book didn't feel overly realistic. There were quite a few times when I thought 'How are they only thinking of this now?'. They were missing curial steps that would normally never be overlooked by cops. It wasn't a huge deal but I thought it was worth pointing out.
At times I also struggled to keep up with all of the characters. I feel like so many characters were named but then barely played a role in the story, so at times it was a bit challenging to remember who was who.
I will say that I really enjoyed when Katy got to have a bit of a bigger role in the story. It felt like we were finally getting a proper look at one of Tori's old friends. Unfortunately what happened with her storyline made very little sense to me. It just felt like it was something that her character would never do. At the same time though I kind of enjoyed it. Something like that was definitely needed for the story but the way that it was done just didn't really make sense to me.
Overall it wasn't a bad book. I'd say if you're used to reading a lot of crime based thrillers you could probably skip this one though as this one was pretty average in comparison to other books in the genre. I think if you're newer to the genre then there's a good chance that you'll enjoy this one more than I did so it might be worth checking out.
Sidenote: I read this as a combination of the ebook which I purchased, and the audiobook which was kindly provided to me as an ARC through NetGalley and Bookouture Audio. If you're going to read this book then I'd definitely recommend the audiobook. The narrator was great!

This audiobook was well done for a mystery! The story was captivating and interesting, thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

I absolutely love this book. I for sure thought I knew the ending several times but nope.. It keeps you hooked till the end! I loved how we had a strong yet vulnerable FMC! We need more of those ;)
I cannot wait to dive into the next part!
Thank you NetGalley for the ALC! ✨

This is the first book in the Agent Tori Hunter series by Roger Stelljes, with audio narration by Kate Hanford.
I enjoyed this story, based in a small Minnesota town, where FBI agent Tori Hunter’s twin sister vanished without trace when they were teens. Tori returns after receiving an anonymous message, seemingly from her sister’s killer, challenging her to a battle of wits.
Tori and the local law enforcement bump heads, but join forces to investigate the latest missing girl. This partnership, while fractious, uncovers a string of other abductions.
At times this reads a little like a translation, as some of the terms feel out of place, and the choice of language isn’t always natural. There were also several small issues with credibility; I felt that Tori’s argumentative nature was overplayed somewhat, and there was an occasion where the pretty blunt description of grooming behaviour to a mother who’s daughter had just gone missing, did not feel like the way a competent FBI agent (who specialises in child abduction) would speak to a traumatised parent.
However, the plot was solid and the story moved along at a good pace, so a good four stars from me.
With thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the chance to read an ARC.

A thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat. The narration of Kate Handford was spell bounding. Once I started, I knew I'd not be sleeping much that night. Tori Hunter is one character you'd love to have on your side when needed. Her determination in face of so many bad memories was one of the qualities that kept me reading / listening through the night.

Absolutely fantastic book to listen to had me on edge wondering what was going to happen from start to finish
It's a must download you won't be disappointed get it now peeps

I found this book overall enjoyable, however felt it did drag in some areas. There was a good mix of tension, dread, and emotion throughout the book, and the twists were great.

A gripping thriller that will have you guessing from the first chapter.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy of this audiobook in return for a fair and honest review

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture Audio and Roger Stelljes for the audio Arc of Silenced Girls ( Agent Tori Hunter Book 1 )
Narrated by Kate Handford
This will be my first book from Roger Stelljes and I do enjoy a good Police Protocol / Mystery Thriller. This book is engaging and descriptive in its content. I loved the character building from Roger in regards to the main characters , especially Tori Hunter. The characters felt real and well rounded. The pacing of the book varied between slow to medium and flowed really well. The last 3rd of the book as things come together, the pacing picked up and I wanted to know the pay off but didn't want it to end either! I will be looking out for more books from this author.
It's also the first time I have come across Kate Handford who narrated this book and she such a pleasure to listen to. Her voice brings a great book alive with the right amount of tension and emphasis. I did listen to this book on 1.5x speed which is a personal preference of mine.
4.25 stars around to 4 stars for Netgalley and other sites.

Can’t wait for books 2, 3 and more. Love the main protagonist, great character development. Paired with an enthralling plot and story line. Really enjoyed this audio. Excellent narration

Getting involved in yet *another* book series... this year has been the year of new (to me) series!
At times I felt this was a long one, but after completing this novel, the length was justified. There’s a lot to dive into with the character backstories and the dual story lines.
There’s tension. There’s dread. Just when you thought you figured it out, twist!
Audiobook was well done

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for an early audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
4 stars
Solid mystery. When I requested an ARC I didn't realize it was the first of seven books and my library only has one of them.
Excellent narration by Kate Handford.
