Tacolicious has a range of reasonably simple Mexican food recipes to follow. I found some of the ingredients a little harder to source, especially in the UK as opposed to in the USA and so had to make several substitutions based on what I could find. However the guacamole and refried black beans recipes were great and easy for an amateur to follow as was the rest of the book.
3 stars.
I do a lot of cooking, and I think that tacos are probably one of the most versatile foods around. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like them, so I wouldn’t hesitate to serve them to everyone I know, customizing, each to suit their interests. This book featuring recipes from Tacolicious, the popular Mexican restaurant in San Francisco, is one of my favorites. Not only do I have a hard copy to use in the kitchen, but I also have one on my Kindle, so I am never without the recipes in this book.
The instructions are clear and concise, so that cooks of any level can feel confident that what they make is going to come out to be exceptional; the photos are mouthwatering. Another thing that I love about this book is that it includes recipes for side dishes and salsas, not to mention cocktails and mocktails, so you don’t have to grab another book in order to complete your meal. Everything that you want is right here.
I can’t recommend it highly enough.
