16th book read by this great author and the 16th time I have enjoyed the authors book (s)!
This is a story of revenge, cold and calculating and the people that could be the guilty party/ parties and who then deserves what is coming to them
Going between the present and the past we find out one of the group of friends,Jodie can no longer feel guilty of the past and what happened to another of the group one night many years ago and after this sad event questions are re asked and old wounds re opened,it is then a readers ‘whodunit’ really to see who the culprit is,as with any good thriller you never quite know
Intense and dark at times the writing kept me reading as I thought i knew the answers…..but did I?…..
Any book that mentions ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ has to gain an extra point for nostalgia as well
A good exciting read
Rebecca and her friends are enjoying a party on the beach, but when Pippa, a girl any of them really didn't bother with is found dead things take a turn.
Fast forward and now Rebecca is an expectant mother....with a stalker..
I loved this book. It is pacy and has more than few OMG moments. It is twisty and shocking and Oh how I didn't expect IT..
just brilliant
I've just read a book very similar to this so found myself getting my head confused between the plots! That being said, a good read that kept my attention.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book,
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
Years ago Becky and her friends were at a beach party, when an outsider, Pippa, died. None of them know what happened but they had cruelly rejected her and so kept quiet. Now Becky is pregnant and someone is stalking her and her friends.
Couldn’t put this down! Loved the slow reveal., the teasing and the complete twists. The characters all were believable if not likeable. All were flawed, and I knew they all had secrets. The big reveal when it came was good. I had an inkling and although I was correct it didn’t ruin the story. I do feel that the ending was a little unsatisfying. What happened to Pippa was a little unclear to me. Sometimes leaving a few loose ends is good as I can’t stol thinking about this book! Highly recommend.
Rebecca (Becks) is determined to get her circle of friends to come together and face their past—the death of Pippa at a year-end beach party a number of years before.
Was the death accidental? Was it more sinister? And what happens when another person from their group dies?
This book had lots of twists and turns, most of which I didn't see coming. Wow! And what a finish!
Sheryl Browne has done it again. I'm looking forward to her next psychological thriller.

A celebration a beach for the last day of school turns into a NIGHTMARE. Pippa, a shy newcomer has been found the morning after dead.
On the twentieth anniversary of Pippa’s death, another person winds up dead. Friends gather around for another again. Are the death related. How long can one keep a secret?
Another fast-past, suspenseful and fun novel by Brown.
This is a great twsity read, full of secrets and lies. Sheryl always writes solid novels and this is another good one. I read this in one day on holiday recently, it's really engaging and well written.
this Author will never disapoint her readers always an addictive read with twist and turns. Becky has never forgotten Pippas death her husband and friends keep telling her to forget it leave it alone. and one of there closest friends has just died .Becky does not believe Jodie committed suicide. and now things are happening to her and her and her friends. its just so good someone wants them to pay lies decite will keep you gripped until the very end
Captivating, compelling and a cunning twist at the end which I didn’t see coming. This is another fantastic psychological thriller from Sheryl Browne, which just keeps the twists coming. Something happens on night on a beach party with a group of friends and everyone else seems to move on, but it haunts Becky even years later. Then suddenly the friends all realise they are in danger. Is it connected to that dreadful night? Becky is convinced it is and will stop at nothing until she gets the truth, but the truth isn’t what she had imagined. Sheryl is skilful at suspenseful scenes which are full of emotion.. She never disappoints.
I have just read and reviewed another ARC that has almost the same plot as this one. Same twists, in fact, almost a carbon copy of this book.
If it wasn't for that, I would have enjoyed this book a lot more, as I am a huge fan of this author.
3/5 stars from me.
Sheryl Browne has once again wrote an interesting book. I finished this in one sitting. Plenty of twists and turns.
4.5 stars rounded up-One More Lie is an unpredictable thriller that catches the reader from the beginning. During college, Becky and her friends were awful to fellow classmate Pippa during a beach party and Pippa died. Years later, Becky is still haunted by Pippa’s death and wants to come clean about everything. Everyone else wants Becky to drop it but now some of the friends are dying. Becky is pregnant and her marriage is falling apart and now someone tried to burn her house down with her in it. Told in alternating views between friends with the biggest focus on Becky, the story twists and turns with multiple suspects as the suspense keeps building. I thought I had everything figured out by the halfway point but the ending completely blindsided me! My voluntary, unbiased, and non-mandatory review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.
Another great read from Sheryl Brown, all through the book, I had so much sympathy for one of the main characters despite her being too trusting and a bit naive, it certainly brings the reader on a twisty path before a great ending. The author certainly knows how to keep her readers engaged and like all her other books, this is another 5 star read.
If you want suspense, twisty and thrilling , yes to this book, say yes!! Had me thinking the whole way through and just couldn't put my finger on who. Great no fantastic twist I never saw coming. Loved everything about this book but then again Sheryl Browne never ceases to amaze me that her books just keep on getting better and better.
Thanks to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an early release of this book.
Woo hoo! The amazing Sheryl Browne does it again! Knocked this one right out of the park. A domestic thriller packed with secrets and lies. I had zero idea who to trust. Characters were easy to relate to, some I loved, a couple I loved to hate. I read this in one afternoon, could not put it down. Don’t let this one pass you by.
Thank you NetGalley, Sheryl Browne and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This must be the plot of the year....or the last few years. Honestly, I'm having a hard time getting into books like this. A bunch of friends gather for a party, someone dies, they all agree to keep a secret, and later in life someone comes back to kill them all. Not much suspense. not much to it. Predictable. The writing is very basic. Sheryl's books either seem to be mediocre for me or i love them. This one is just ok.
A gripping read with an interesting storyline.
Well written characters although some not very pleasant.
Having said that i did catch onto the twist and this is not my favourite from this author.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
I realised something whilst reading this book. Often the psychological thrillers are about a group of friends who have known each other since university and they all have been keeping a secret for many years. I wonder if real life groups of friends have similar experiences?
In this story the friends have all decided to keep their secret under wraps. In doing so they are protecting each other. It went well, until now... Is someone afraid their reunion at this devastating event will trigger someone to start talking and has decided to take action?
The author leads us through a suspenseful story until we arrive at the place we want to be: the revelation of what really happened. Was I surprised? Of course I was! I do have to admit there was one person I trusted completely until I didn't anymore. Was I right in doing this or did I totally miss the ball? I have to pat myself on the shoulder. I was right, but wrong about all the rest. :)
A great book, as per usual by this author. 5 stars
Thank you
The story revolves around a central character who finds herself embroiled in a series of events that challenge her perception of reality and the people she thought she knew. As the plot unfolds, readers are introduced to various characters whose motives are shrouded in mystery. The protagonist’s journey is marked by unexpected twists and turns, leading to shocking revelations.
Browne excels in character development, providing depth to each individual in the story. Readers witness their struggles, fears, and desires, making it easy to empathize with their situations. The protagonist’s evolution throughout the book highlights her resilience as she confronts her.
Key themes explored include the fragility of trust, the impact of deceit on relationships, and the psychological toll of living with secrets. Browne skillfully examines how one lie can lead to another, creating a domino effect that can have devastating consequences.
With its fast-paced narrative and intricate plotting, “One More Lie” is an unputdownable read for fans of psychological thrillers. Sheryl Browne’s ability to craft suspenseful scenarios while exploring profound emotional themes makes this book a standout in its genre.
This was a pretty good book! I do think it was a bit YA and juvenile for me. I think the mystery was pretty good, but the ending was far too predictable. I hate when I can guess the ending, and this one was pretty easily guessable
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complementary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!
