This book was very interesting if I'm going to be honest I wasn't expecting how intriguing it actually was because at the same time it had realism it also had that magic that pulled me into it.. The romance was there but personally for me it did made sense but it wasn't that relative.
It was my first book from the author and I'm not disappointed

This had a very interesting premise to me - a modern set story with the plot of the Garden of Eden and the associated fall. Terra has fibromyalgia and struggles with pain on the regular. After losing out on a promotion at work and experiencing some more acute pain, she goes to physical therapy and, lo and behold, sees a man that she has seen before, Harlan. Then Harlan is bumping into her all over the place. Coincidence or fate? I found this to be an interesting take on the Bible story, even as someone that is not religious. I didn’t love the ending, hence the slightly lower rating, but definitely something to check into if the description interests you!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I love this type of book that is set enough in the “real” world that it can be placed, but where there is something just different enough that it really makes you think.

The characters are well written, flawed but (and) relatable. There were some time jumps that were a little jarring, where there were scenes that seemed to be missing and I would have liked to see (removed a star for that).

I’d recommend this for anyone who wants something a little different. Especially growing up in a religious household, this type of story makes you think and ponder.

This was such a well done fantasy novel, it had everything that I wanted in this type of world and story. It was engaging and had that romance element that I wanted. The characters were able to make me care about what was going on and enjoyed the themes of redemption. I’m excited to read more from Amanda D'Errico as this was really well done.

🌶️/5
This book was not at all what I was expecting and not my genre, but I managed to finish it. The book explored the themes of why God allows evil, surrendering your own will, and the power of forgiveness. The main characters both have a decent amount of character development, though some of that development felt like it came overnight.
