This was a beautifully done paranormal romance that I was enjoying from start to finish. I enjoyed the use of Christmas and how everything worked in this type of book. The characters were everything that I wanted and enjoyed the overall feel of them. Elise Eliot was able to create a story that I wanted and enjoyed reading this.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing this book, with my honest review below.

It’s not even the holiday season quite yet but Merry Switchmas captured the best part of the feelings of the holidays, how we tend to be a little less selfish and a little more open with our hearts. This book was sweet and a great reminder that you can look back on life and wonder how things could be, but it’s still possible to change how things are today as well if you, all within your power.

These lessons and more came courtesy of Taylor/Tate, who runs successful beauty company, Royal Flush. An ice queen who seems as soulless as her office and life and dress sense (all stark white), she fires her own cousin Bethany on Christmas Eve. Bethany and her best friend decide to get revenge and procure an elixir that causes Taylor to switch over to still the same time but a different life in which she’s pregnant and married to her college sweetheart Amir (aka the best guy to ever exist). A common enough trope in a holiday romance, this was just so heartfelt and sweet that it doesn’t really matter if did the switch or alternative life better than other, it makes you feel cosy and welcome to others and empowered to take your life in your own hands.

On Christmas Eve, Taylor "Tate" Kennedy fires her cousin and number two, Bethany. Bethany has always looked up to Tate, who has successfully run the award-winning cosmetics company, Royal Flush, largely due to her input. Bent on revenge, Bethany sets into motion a magical turn of events that shakes up Tate’s life in catastrophic ways. When Tate wakes up on Christmas living someone else's life, she is forced to see what her life could have been like if she’d chosen to be happy instead of living her whole life driven to prove her father wrong at any cost. The switch finds her married to Amir, a man she thought she had gotten over, in a life that she might really desire.
A great story line revealed how Tate’s insecurities had led to her success but at the expense of the life she might have really wanted. It was filled with plenty of comical moments as Tate needs to reassess her ‘new’ life, and yet, there were many moments that are quite heartfelt in showing Tate’s reflection on her life.
This book I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Merry SWITCHmas is a magical Christmas romance that follows the journey of Tate Kennedy, a beauty mogul who has built her life around ambition and proving her father wrong. Set against the backdrop of Christmas in New York City, the story explores themes of love, regret, and self-discovery.

The narrative begins with Tate, who runs her successful cosmetics company, Royal Flush, with an iron fist. However, her ruthless nature leads her to fire her number two, Bethany, on Christmas Eve. This act triggers a series of magical events orchestrated by Bethany as revenge. After drinking a potion, Tate wakes up in an alternate reality where she is married to her college boyfriend and pregnant.

As she navigates this new life, Tate is forced to confront what could have been had she made different choices focused on happiness rather than ambition. Throughout this experience, she witnesses the consequences of her past actions and how they affect those she once took for granted.

Merry Switchmas delves into various tropes such as second chances, magic realism, forced proximity, and surprise pregnancy. It ultimately poses the question of whether Tate will embrace love and change or revert to her old ways.

This heartwarming tale combines humor with poignant moments that reflect on life’s choices and their impact on happiness. By the end of the story, readers are left wondering about their own decisions and what they would do if given another chance at love.
