Mary Kay Andrews’ Holiday Hideaway is the perfect novella for fans of Christmas reads who don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to reading during the busiest time of year.

Recently divorced and evicted from her apartment, Tilly Farriday, finds herself squatting in a rental property she helps manage. While everyone else is enjoying their holiday festivities, Tilly is more concerned with getting through the next few days. Equipped with just enough essentials, she manages to turn the situation into a cozy retreat. That is until the tenet unexpectedly arrives. With no other choice she makes a beeline for the attic. Will Tilly make it out unscathed, or will she be discovered and punished?

This was such a cute read! Being that it is a novella, it was short and sweet. It can easily be consumed in under an hour, perfect for fans who are mood readers but limited on time.

The plot was hilarious! The squatting element in particular was unlike anything in have ever read. It provided lots of fun/ funny moments that are guaranteed to have you laughing.

Special thanks to Netgalley, Amazon Original Stories, and Mary Kay Andrews for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

I really enjoyed this one. It was a cute holiday short story. Perfect to kick off the holiday season. Felt like a hallmark movie. The New England setting was homey and familiar for me. I thought the characters were likable. I was rooting for them. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for sharing!

This was a very sweet novella about Tilly and George, two acquaintances from high school who have a chance to be something more. As usual, Mary Kay Andrews delivers a sweet holiday romance.

This story is so cute and gave me all the feels! My only complaint is that I wish it were a full length novel!

Ousted from her apartment after adopting Smooch, a homeless, lovable dog, Tilly has decided to crash at the unoccupied, shabby property that the property company where she works manages. But right after she unloads her stash of survival groceries, someone arrives at the property and Tilly, along with Smooch, have to hide out in the attic. Mary Kay Andrews' fans know that her stories mix equal parts of romance, mishaps, and humor, and HOLIDAY HIDEAWAY does not disappoint. While the story may have the predictability of a Hallmark movie, it will bring chuckles and smiles to readers. And what can be better than that after a hectic day of holiday shopping?

Thank you, NetGalley for an advanced ARC of this short Christmas story

Unfortunately this was not my cup of tea and I lost interest in the story and characters pretty fast but I can see many others enjoying this short story and finding it cute, for me I need a little more meat on the bones of the story

3.5 ⭐️ • Mary Kay Andrews just knows how to write a cozy short Christmas story! I thought this was so cute & felt right out of a Hallmark movie. I wish it had been a tad bit longer because the ending felt a little rushed!

A silly, sweet holiday read!

It's told over 6 days as it nears Christmas. Tilly is in a hard spot in her life - recently divorced, she's squatting in an empty rental while she waits for her new place to be available. When, suddenly, George arrives - he's recently inherited the property and popped over to check it's state of repair and to enjoy some holidays memories.

To both of their surprise, they are forced together! It felt like a unique holiday story. It was just the perfect sweet and short. Enough to learn about both characters and really love them - but short enough it was a very quick read during this busy time!

I did the audio and I loved the narrator!

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

I have read everything Mary Kay Andrews has written and loved them all.
But this novella seemed to be a quick way to fulfill an obligation to turn in a project. It was just plain that she was in a hurry to get the job done.
Very silly premise that the heroine thought she could live in a freezing attic with her dog and the man downstairs wouldn’t notice anything was going on.
I was very disappointed in this one.

A quick and sweet holiday read. Tilly finds herself temporarily homeless and is making use of an empty house. George has come to get his late uncle’s house ready for sale and is rethinking his recent engagement to Vanessa. Tilly is able to avoid George for a short time, but when he falls off a ladder, she is forced to show herself and come to his rescue. It doesn’t take long for sparks to fly.

This is another delightful short story from Mary Kay Andrews. Easy to read with some humor and good characters. It was lacking a little on the holiday vibes but was still enjoyable!

I give this story 3.5/5 stars. This was a cute and quick short story. I thought for what it was, it was great. I enjoyed the characters and loved that they had a history. The setting was hard to believe- our main female character is living in a rental property and goes a couple of days without the owner realizing she's there? Definitely had to suspend some belief there, but overall it was a cute story and is a perfect one to get you in the Christmas mood.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! Holiday Hideaway by Mary Kay Andrews is a cute rom-com. Tillie works in a summer rental agency. Having recently been divorced and between houses, she is squatting in a house which hasn't been rented out in over a year. The grumpy owner hasn't been in either. That is until his great-nephew walks in one day to get it ready to sell. Tillie is camped out in the attic with her dog and is afraid of being arrested for trespassing. Her fear is compounded by the fact that her ex-husband is the sherrif. Though a little far fetched especially with her escapades overnight, I found this quick read rather witty and humourous. Definetely a win in my book.
