Thank you to the publisher for providing me a copy via Netgalley!
This was a cute, easy to read in one sitting novella. It had all the makings of a perfect little Hallmark movie with a small town setting, a female protagonist down on her luck, and a male protagonist from her past that stumbles back into town. Of course he's rich, of course he's handsome, and of course he's charming! While predictable, I found this quite enjoyable to read, and it was especially satisfying to be able to do so in around an hour. It had humor, a little bit of conflict, romance, and holiday cheer.
Super cute holiday short story just in time to get you in the mood for the season. This one is a bit difference from other holiday rom-coms that I've read and it has an adorable pooch to make it even more delightful.
Thank you Netgalley for an early copy of this short story in exchange for an honest review.
This was everything a short Christmas story should be! I was interested in the characters, the storyline, and the humor. I actually wished this one could be a full novel of Mary Kay's! "Holiday Hideway" is a sweet, quick read that gets you ready for the holidays! I can't say too much without telling the story (because it is short!), but know this one will be a good one to add to your Christmas reading list!

⭐️⭐️⭐️
'Holiday Hideaway' was like one of those really cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies, with things you know would never happen, but still manages to hold your interest. Due to it being a short story, it was a really quick read so if you are needing to reach your reading goal for the year this would be a good one to pick up!
Thank you to NetGalley, Mary Kay Andrews and Amazon Original Stories for an early copy in exchange for a honest review.
I love Andrews’ Christmas stories and this was a particularly cute one. It felt a hair rushed - I think it would have benefited by expanding to a novela.
This is a short story of the meet (again)-cute between Tilly and George. Set in December, this is a great little Christmas read! I enjoyed reading their story!
Mary Kay Andrews always delivers a fun light hearted book. And her Christmas books…they always shine the brightest. This super cute novel will bring the Christmas joy and spirit, even if you’re not feeling it this year. MKA never disappoints, loved her latest Christmas story!
Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange of an honest review.
Short and sweet! Tilly was a hot mess and still managed to find her HEA. MKA’s humor was still present in this short story, which I appreciated!
Short stories aren’t my favorite but I enjoyed it well enough -I wouldn’t have been mad if it was a full novel!
It’s Christmas time and Tilly Farriday is newly divorced, broke, and temporarily homeless. She makes a life altering decision to squat in one of her employer’s rentals until her new home is available. What could go wrong? The handsome new owner shows up unexpectedly and the high jinks that only Mary Kay Andrew can write ensues.
I loved this book. I love Christmas books and Mary Kay Andrews Christmas books are extra special. I take that back . . . ALL of Mary Kay Andrews books are extra special! I highly recommend this book to Christmas lovers everywhere!
Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for an early read in exchange for a fair review. It was my pleasure!
Holiday Hideaway
A Short Story

Mary Kay Andrews immersed me immediately into the wintry, New England setting of her Christmas short story. Crowe's Nest is an old Victorian mansion in Piney Point, near the shores of Calico Bay. Down on her luck Tilly happens to be living in the attic, since it's one of her rental agencies' properties. She finds herself playing hide and seek with the new owner, George, who arrives unexpectedly.
Like a slice of delicious holiday cake, Andrews' bite size story is decadently satisfying and rich in seasonal goodness. With warmth and wit, Mary Kay's writing carried me into the atmosphere of Holiday Hideaway with Tilly, her dog Smoosh, and George.
I received an advance reader's copy from Amazon Original Stories and NetGalley. My review is my own.

I was only going to see how many pages were in this book...next thing I know I had read it! MKA has such a gift of writing and this is a great example. This was such a feel good easy holiday story to start the season.
Thank you NetGalley for the early read

I always enjoy a book from Mary Kay Andrews, but it's her holiday stories I really look forward to.
Tilly was trying to pick up the pieces following her divorce. This would be her first holiday season on her own, and she found herself evicted and between homes. Her brilliant idea - hideaway in one of the rental properties she managed. The only problem was that this house, that was supposed to be empty, was now occupied.
The beginning of this story was filled with hijinks as Tilly attempted to keep herself concealed from George, but then something happened that forced her out of hiding. That's where the story goes from pure fun to both fun and heartwarming. I loved the interactions between George and Tilly, and I really liked them together. I crossed my fingers and hoped the universe would cut Tilly a break in the form of something special with George.
Highlights for me:
- Smoosh the dog
- George's memories
- Tilly and George's link
Overall, this was another wonderful holiday short from Andrews. It had the humor I expect from MKA, but also the warm, cozy vibes to celebrate the season.
what a cute short holiday read. she always does a good job with holiday stories!! i highly recommend you pick this one up!
Make yourself a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy this sweet short story. Tilly has run into some bad luck. So bad that she is squatting at a vacant rental that the company she works for oversees. Being a rundown wreck it wasn’t rented for the holidays. Unfortunately someone with a key has now entered her temporary home. And so the fun begins! #HolidayHideaway
This is perfect for reading in between wrapping presents with a mug of hot chocolate and a biscuit. Mary Kay provides insight into relationships gone bad as well as ones that should have never been put together. Holiday Hideaway is a holiday themed short story from Mary Kay Andrews. In this quick read we meet Tilly who is squatting in one of the rental properties she manages while she waits to move into her new apartment. The unexpected arrival of George, the grandnephew of the owner who has recently passed away, has her scrambling to figure out where to go. Am unfortunate accident leaves Tilly needing to watch George and he realizes that he knows her from high school. He begins to think about his life in Boston and some changes might be coming. Definitely quick easy read that leaves the reader wanting to know more. Thank you to Amazon Original Stories, the author and NetGalley for the opportunity
3.5 - quick hallmark worthy holiday read - I always enjoy Mary Kay Andrew’s holiday works and this one didn’t disappoint! Super cheesy & cute!

Holiday Hideaway is the perfect short story to get you into the Christmas spirit! It’s got everything you’d want in an MKA Christmas - Christmas carols, nostalgia for Christmas days of yore, snow, a dog, and a little bit of romance.
Tilly Farraday is feeling less than jolly this holiday season - she’s recently divorced, has no family nearby, and is squatting in one of the vacant rental properties that her employer manages. At least she thought it was vacant…
A few days in, the new owner shows up to get the home ready to sell, and Tilly is forced to hide in the attic. Can she hide from him long enough to not get caught and lose her job? It will take a Christmas miracle.
What an adorable little read! Perfect to cozy up with some “good” red wine and chili on a snowy night!
What a cute short story

So she is living in a property that’s not rented
