So, I did the mistake of not checking the description in this one and I haven't read the first two. I don't see myself reading this series now but I do appreciate the author and its publisher for the audiobook. (the star rating is just for the formality, not my thoughts on it)

Reading this book was so great! I've really enjoyed this series, and her writing as a whole, and I was looking forward to reading this one! With everything that happened in book 2, I had to know what was going to come as a result, and it was so enjoyable to read!
Zarya is in the country that her mom was Queen of, that her half of her DNA is still ruling. But with the prophecy of how she's going to be the one to free them, presumably the vanshaj, well, the way the royal family treats them is awful, which puts them at odds, not that they knew about it, or her.
I really enjoyed watching as she worked on her magic, because she was under a lot of pressure, mainly that she put on herself. And when you add in Rabin and their complicated relaitonship and how he broke her trust, yeah, her life was very much in chaos.
Honestly, I'm so worried about the 4th book. Like, maybe Rabin is right and her dad isn't an awful guy. But maybe he's wrong, and her mother is right, and she's going to him. So I'm scared about how it's going to play out, but I need to know!
Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to see how the series is going to end!

an intriguing mix of magic, rebellion, and forbidden romance, set in a city where tension between the ruling class and magical slaves simmers just below the surface. The world-building in Ishaan is immersive, with its vivid contrasts between the luxurious lives of the nobles and the grim existence of the vanshaj workers. The exploration of magic, power, and freedom adds layers to the plot that kept me engaged. I love the romance as well!

Nisha J. Tuli is a joy to read, and her storylines makes for awesome audiobooks. Storm of Ink and Blood by Nisha J. Tuli was made all the better by the audiobook, as the narration allows for the fantastical elements to come to life. I love hearing the pronunciation of the locations and characters, and the narrations really helps create a story that captures you.

Zarya’s adventure continues when she and Yasen join a rebellion in Ishaan, her mother’s city. Trying to forget Rabin and his betrayal, Zarya throws herself into the rebel’s fight for freedom and uncovers the key to freeing the vanshaj, who have been born into magical slavery as punishment for an ancient crime no one remembers. However, to utilize the key, Zarya must trust the last person she wants to see, Rabin.
Storm of Ink and Blood is an epic romantasy filled with the perfect blend of action, fantasy, and romance. Just when I’m getting bored of the adventure, the romance kicks in, and then the action comes and the cycle repeats itself. This series is absolutely addicting.
As an FMC, Zarya is relatable and I loved seeing her grow through the various challenges thrown at her. The supporting cast, while mixed with old and new faces, are filled with both lovable and love-to-hate faces. Then there’s Rabin. Without saying too much, there’s an absolute sizzle between these two with plenty of spice and a little bit of sweetness.
Rating 4/5 ⭐️s - I still love Zarya and the people she draws to her. For me, Zarya draws me into the story and the world of Rahajan. The complexities of the world and the magic system make the story a little hard to grasp at times but the underlying themes of injustice and rebellion are familiar. The story’s Southeast Asian roots are prominent throughout.
Spice Rating 4/5 🌶️s - More spice in this book. A handful of open door scenes with at least a little something extra. I personally forgot Rabin was a vampire until we got a spicy scene with some blood play.
Thank you Nisha J. Tuli, NetGalley, Second Sky, and Dreamscape Select for this ARC read! I’m both scared and excited for Queen of Shadows and Ruin.
PS. The audiobook is available and totally helps with pronouncing names. Good books, like this one, will have me bouncing back and forth between the two media.

Absolutely love this book and this series!! I love a storng and bold FMC and Zarya is that and then some!! I can’t wait for the next book to release!!

This one’s easily my least favorite in the series so far. The worldbuilding and action are solid, and Yasen still steals the show with his banter, but the romance really fell flat for me. Between enchanted vines (don’t ask) and trust/betrayal issues that magically disappear, it’s hard to take it seriously. Rabin’s chemistry with Zarya almost made up for it, but the spice leaned way more cringy than swoony.
At this point, I’m not sure if I’ll keep going with this series because each book keeps getting worse.
I did enjoy the narrator’s play on accents and different characters but it would have been a bonus if there was dual narration, especially because it’s dual POVs.
If found family, elemental magic, and chaotic choices are your thing, you might still enjoy it—but for me, it’s losing steam fast.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Storm of Ink & Blood
Author: Nisha J Tuli
Nightfire Quartet Book #3
Thank you so much Netgalley and Second Sky publishing for this ARC! Just like the first two, I adored this! I have a hard time reviewing third books in a series without giving anything major away, or spoilers so I’m going to do my best here. This book picks up right after book 2 with Zarya feeling hurt, and betrayed but also more determined then ever to figure out what this strange and dark magic inside of her is. She ends up joining a band of rebels that are trying to free the vanshaj citizens of the city of Ishaan from magical slavery. The magic system in this series is very unique, and I love all of the side characters almost as much as the main two. It’s a beautiful romantasy series that makes me feel all of the things. I thought Trial of the Sun Queen was my favorite, but after reading this series I’m not sure. I just love Nisha. 😭. March can’t come soon enough! Also, audio narration was great as well. Please add this series to your romantasy list!

Please disregard this rating as unfortunately I was not able to get to the audiobook on time and was unable to download it. I apologize for any inconvenience!

Shattered by Rabin’s betrayal, Zarya joins a rebellion in the dangerous city of Ishaan, where she fights to free the enslaved vanshaj. As she uncovers a way to break their curse, Zarya must harness a powerful magic that could destroy her—one that Rabin, the man who ignited her magic and heartbreak, can help her control. I really enjoyed this book! I’m so excited to see how Zarya continues to grow! I truly cant wait for book 4.

Thank you, Second Sky Books, Dreamscape Select, and Netgalley, for my audiobook copy!
4.25 ⭐
I have to say that Nisha J. Tuli keeps on knocking it out of the park when it comes to The Nightfire Quartet Series! The story keeps on getting better, and the spice in this book keeps on spicing. I have to say, with each passing book, Nisha's writing keeps making me more in love with her story. Shiromi Arserio narrates the audiobook and practically does an amazing job with bringing the characters of Zarya and the rest to life in Nisha J. Tuli's book!

Thanks to Second Sky for the gifted audiobook.
I love this Nisha Tuli series and I just HAD to know what would happen next after that book two betrayal!!! This is an excellent continuation of the story, and I loved the narration by Shiromi Arserio. It's definitely getting a little on the spicy side for me - I feel like every book is spicier?! But the fantasy world and general romantasy is great and I'm excited for the next installment.

The way I completely devoured this book! 5 stars, no notes! We get even more romance and action in this one with plenty of twists, turns, and secrets to really keep things interesting! While Book 2 ended with a good measure of closure, I was left craving more adventure with Zarya and desperately wanted certain plot lines to be addressed here in Storm of Ink and Blood. And we got it! (swoons)
The audiobook is also just stellar- definitely recommend as a reading medium if those are your thing! Perfect amount of emotion with the narration.
I think if you're looking for a romantasy series with plenty of magic, action-packed political machinations, and spice, this is one to start! Can't wait for book 4!

Nisha J. Tuli knows how to write cliffhangers and Romantasy with humor! Once again another fantastic book, and a great addition to the Nightfire Quartet. A Storm of Ink and Blood continues the story of Zarya and her dark forbidden magic.
This book is spicy, and has magic. Perfect for readers that enjoy ACOTAR and Fourth Wing. I cannot wait to read the last installment!

Thank you Netgalley for giving me an opportunity to review this iconic book !!
Nisha has an impressive and mesmerizing writing style which drifted me to her world!! It was a delight to read!! 😍😍

Nisha can’t write a bad book, I’m convinced. It took me a while to get to this book and now I’m wondering why I didn’t get to it sooner. Definitely invested in the characters stories and want to see how she wraps it all up in the next book!

Storm of Ink and Blood is the third installment of The Nightfire Quartet. Did I request to listen to this audiobook without realizing that? Absolutely yes. I began listening and realized I was completely lost, so I went back and found the first audiobooks. I went on a journey following Zarya and journey was thrilling. This part of the journey really had some great character development for Zarya and we got to focus more on the relationship between her and Rabin. Overall, I'm really looking forward to the fourth book and how this wraps up.
The audiobook was beautifully narrated by Shiromi Arserio. She does a wonderful job capturing the character voices. I didn't have any difficulty identifying who was speaking.

In this third installment, Zarya’s journey takes an even deeper turn as she steps further into her destiny. We’re introduced to some intriguing members of her family, adding more layers to her story, and we witness her navigating a cascade of truths being revealed all around her. Out of the books I’ve read in this series so far, this one has been my absolute favorite. I loved seeing how the various pieces of the story are starting to come together, all perfectly building toward what promises to be an epic finale in book four. It’s the kind of book that keeps you hooked, eagerly anticipating what’s next!

In this third installment of the Nightmare Quartet, we follow Zarya and Yasen as they join a new cause. I really enjoyed the new direction that they went in as characters - it felt like it flowed fairly well from the past books and had a lot of potential in where it could go for the final book.
The characters were also really fun to catch up with - I love the relationships between all of them, and the sense of humor that is infused into their interactions.
I wish that this series was focusing more on the fantasy elements and less on the romance, because that’s where this book fell a little flat for me. I was completely with Zarya in the previous book, and I was ready for her to be angry and really let Rabin have it. Instead, she mostly just said she was angry and then forgave him almost immediately after they were reunited.
I’m also just frustrated with Rabin in general. His seemingly baseless optimism in certain situations just felt really naive.
I’m interested to see where things go in the end of this series, and I’m hoping to get to spend more time with the found family here!

Storm of Ink and Blood is the third book in the Nightfire quartet and is probably my favorite one yet!
In the past 2 books we saw Zarya come into her own and really find who she was in book one. Then We saw Zarya and her friends start to fight against the evil blight in book two. In this book we see them go further then just the blight and work to dismantle a system of oppression based in xenophobia and elitism. A system that should have never been established but was out of fear and misinformation that has been in place for a millennia (but wait… reading isn’t political right?). When the resistance makes progress the rulers impose harsher laws and more policing of the marginalized people. (Side eye) That doesn’t sound familiar at all…They have to go underground and continue their operations in secret. The Jaduna can kiss my ass. Even with those circumstances.
There is a powerful quote from this book I want to share… “the way indifference could filter into the cracks of society, turning people into monsters who confidently walked through broad daylight.”
Now to Rabin… please Nisha can I strangle him? He’s in the “I’m a bonehead” camp with a bunch of other MMCs. Though I think I want to strangle Vikram more. My feelings for the brothers have completely flip flopped at this point in the series. I’m curious to see what happens in book 3!
This book has That’s my girl and that’s my girl is >good girl every time.
Finally to wrap it up an leave you on a spicy note… you know how in my “you should read this” reel where I said hot blood sucking beings… well… Biting in order to reach the peak of activities is HOT. (Yes yall I don’t know what will anger the algo gods so we are being vague)
