I’m emotionally wrung out and suffering a book hangover after reading "From Nowhere”. The beautifully crafted narrative swept me off my feet from the first page. The author skillfully weaves a tapestry of strong emotions, complex characters, and unexpected turns that kept me enthralled throughout the story.
The protagonists, Maren, Ozzy and Lola, are incredibly relatable as they navigate the challenges of love, loss, and self-discovery. Jewel E. Ann has a remarkable talent for character development, allowing readers to deeply empathize with the characters’ struggles and triumphs. The supporting cast is equally well-written, adding depth to the overall narrative. I loved Jamie’s return and Will’s vulnerability and interjections. I would have cast Tia and Amos out of my life long ago, but they do provide much of the angst in the story.
There is an underlying sadness as the themes of resilience, forgiveness, and the idea of starting anew despite past traumas are explored, which the author does with great sensitivity. I so appreciated the humorous moments that brought a lightness to some situations. The pacing is perfect, with a blend of heartwarming moments interspersed with tension and sizzle.
The romantic elements are flawlessly intertwined with the plot, creating a slow-burning tension that culminates in breathtaking moments. It’s a love story that feels real and raw, resonating long after I finished the book. Ozzy’s notes and bouquets of wildflowers are hopelessly romantic and endearing; I will never look at dandelions the same way.
This love story with a compelling exploration of trauma and surviving loss is one of my #2025Favorites.

I am fairly new to Jewel E. Ann. This is my third book by her and her writing style is perfection. This book was no different. While I was sad to be moving on from Fitz and Jamie, I fell in love with Maren, Ozzy and Lola just the same. The story, the characters, just everything about this book was top notch. This author so far is an auto buy author can’t wait to read more from her.

"From Nowhere" was such a heartwarming and emotional read! Maren and Ozzy’s chemistry was instant, but their journey was anything but easy. I loved their funny and adorable meet-cute, and the way they navigated their complicated relationship felt so real. Ozzy’s devotion to his daughter, Lola, was so touching, and Maren’s strength and independence made her a perfect match for him. Their secret romance had me hooked, and the mix of humor, romance, and deep emotions kept me turning the pages. Lola was a standout—so lovable and full of personality! The book had me laughing, swooning, and even tearing up at times. Jewel E. Ann created such a beautiful, heartfelt story that stayed with me long after I finished. It was sweet, steamy, and emotional in all the right ways. I didn’t want it to end, and I’d love to see it on screen one day!

Maren and Ozxy’s story was both beautiful, emotional (seriously is there ever going to be a Jewel E Ann book that doesn’t make me cry?!?) and touching.
Not just a love story between 2 people but a love story between families trying to find their way through grief, and rebuilding relationships. A story of friendship and helping others when they can’t fight their fears themselves.
I loved Maren in From Air and I’m so glad she got her HEA in From Nowhere. I cannot wait for Will and Everleigh’s story.

I loved this story so much. Which is no surprise. I didn't want to put the book down. I fell in love with the characters. With their chemistry and their struggles. All the gestures and efforts from Ozzy had me swooning and setting the bar up high for men. Then, Maren set the goal as the perfect role model. Lola was adorable and so easy to fall for. I felt like I was reading a very important and epic love story that still felt reachable. I couldn't help myself from being completely invested.

What a beautiful book. I had liked the first book with Fritz and Jamie's story, but Maren's I loved.
The pacing, the way they get along, the humor of both of them, it's something very endearing and makes the reading go fast.
Ozzy is a sweetheart, of a man, of a dad, of a friend. There isn't a single part of him that I didn't fall in love with. He is amazing.
Without a doubt this series just keeps getting better and better as the books go on.

Rated 4.5 Stars
Emotional wrecking ball of a read that's what Fom Nowhere was. I loved it but my emotions are a bit raw. This author knows how to write stories that destabilize emotions and also make you think and see things in a different light.
What really stood out to me in this story was the inner turmoil and struggles of the characters especially Ozzy. It was very well done. I didn't love all the decisions that he made but I understood where he was coming from. I loved the progression of his and Maren's relationship. It felt very natural and real.
I can't sing the praises of this book enough - it was amazing. Go read it as well as the previous book, it was also amazing.

I can honestly say I loved every minute of From Nowhere. I have loved many books over the years but this is one of the rare ones I want to read all over again for the very first time. The characters are wonderful, intelligent and witty, and it has the perfect balance of humor and tug at your heartstrings emotion. It’s a real joy of a read.
I completely fell in love with Maren, Ozzy and Lola. Maren is an amazing woman. Fiercely strong and independent but so kind and loving. Not once did she put Ozzy in a position where he had to chose between her and his responsibilities. Ozzy is an incredible father, selfless when it comes to Lola. Understanding of her needs, encouraging but never pushing to the point of distress. Lola was an absolute delight. Forthright and outspoken in an endearing and laughable way, I loved the banter between her and Ozzy. I thought her character was written perfectly.
Maren and Ozzy’s meet cute was only the start of many humorous things to come. Their antics and their attempts to get some adult time in the face of adversity was frustrating yet so entertaining I couldn’t help but laugh. I loved Ozzy’s creativity, even when it wasn’t always successful, but his determination to keep trying is fantastically funny and very sweet.
I don’t have the words to adequately explain just how much I loved this book. Jewel, you have outdone yourself. It’s outstanding. A beautiful story that I wanted to live within forever.

𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐥 𝐄. 𝐀𝐧𝐧 can seamlessly blend angst and humor to create a sweet yet emotional rom-com. Ozzy was still grieving the loss of his wife, and his daughter bore the scars of a tragic accident, both physically and emotionally. But out of nowhere comes Maren. One hilarious meet-cute that changed everything.
𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 his reserved nature, Ozzy found himself drawn to the outgoing Maren. She was a spark of energy that seemed out of his league, but when she asked him out, he stepped out of his comfort zone.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 characters handled their relationship very maturely. Ozzy struggled with navigating the dating world again, and Maren found his efforts endearing. And who doesn’t like flowers picked just for you?! It was refreshing to see a female character who was sure of herself and appreciated the little things in life. She was independent, didn't need saving, and in fact provided support for Ozzy and genuinely cared about his daughter and stray kitten. I think Maren might be one of my favorite characters written by Jewel E. Ann. This time, instead of falling for the hero, I fell for our girl Maren!
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 it came to Ozzy, he always stayed true to himself. As a romance reader, I hoped for a more heartfelt reaction from him, especially when Maren needed him the most. Unfortunately, he didn't rise to the occasion, which was a bit disappointing but also very realistic. On the other hand, I was truly impressed by Maren. Even in times of pain, she kept her composure and displayed her true strength.
𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥, this book is a rollercoaster of emotions that will both break and mend your heart. Filled with sweet moments, witty banter, and heartfelt scenes, that keep you engaged from beginning to end.
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 you to the author, Montlake, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions shared here are a true reflection of my reading experience.

If I could only recommend on book series for the rest of my life, it just might be this one! 100000/10 😍
𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗡𝗼𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 is the second book in the Wildfire Series by Jewel E. Ann. I absolutely love this series so so much and am having such a hard time even putting it into words.
One of my favorite things about Jewel E. Ann’s writing is the complexity of the characters and relationships. She always makes me laugh, swoon and sob by eyes out and it is BRILLIANT!
This book was such a powerful story about loss, love, and the power that love has in healing.

Many thanks to Valentine PR & Jewel E. Ann for the gifted eARC.

Marren and Ozzy are two very different people, with two very different lives. Marren is a air tanker pilot who works the toughest jobs. Ozzy is a mechanic who lost his wife two years ago, and is now only riding his bike because his daughter is so traumatized by cars. They are both not quiet ready to find love. But from the moment Marren and Ozzy meet, the chemistry between them is undeniable.
Just like many of Jewel E. Ann’s books, this book was charming, fun, romantic and heartbreaking all at the same time. Marren and Ozzy had the best chemistry. I loved their stolen moments together, and the way they where just so good together. But Ozzy’s life was definitely not yet ready for Marren. But what do you do? Do you stay apart when everything feels so right?
This book was so touching and heartbreaking. It hooked me to every single page, just as much as the first book in the series. And I honestly devoured every page. Not only was the romance amazing, I also really loved Ozzy’s little girl Lola. And the grandmother made me want to scream. Jewel E. Ann is always able to write these stories that make me feel so damn much. It’s crazy!
From Nowhere was an epic, romantic and heartbreaking story! If you haven’t started this series yet.. Start now!!

I said it with “From Air”, and I’ll say it again: Jewel only puts out 5 star books. I’ve never read a book by her that I haven’t become fully immersed in, fallen head over heels for the characters, and made the book my entire personality for weeks to come. As usual, Maren, Ozzy, and Lola have completely taken over my heart and mind, and I don’t see that going away any time soon. Maren stuck out to me in “From Air” as a kind and silly person who is a great friend. She shows even more compassion and love in her journey to loving Ozzy than I ever thought possible. The tragedies in her past allow her to see trama through Ozzy’s eyes. She’s able to relate to Lola in the way no one else can, and ultimately, she is exactly what these two need to move through life after an unspeakable event. Ozzy’s strength as a father and his empathy for his daughter through his own struggles was amazing. This is an absolutely heartbreaking but beautiful story of love after loss, and how grief affects everyone surrounding a tragedy. Eloquently and mindfully written, and I’m so in love.

Jewel E. Ann you did it again! Another amazing book added to my highly recommended list. This book was filled with so many funny moments and heartfelt moments that kept me hooked from start to finish. This story was beautifully written. I loved this book so much! I am truly convinced that no matter what she writes I’ll love it!

"You're fueling my fire," she whispers.
"Every text. Every word. Every glance.
Every touch." "Should I do something to extinguish you?" I smirk. Again, she watches for Lola. "You should burn with me."
This book! I can’t say enough good things about Jewel E. Ann’s writing, she can take heartbreaking situations and writes them so beautifully.
Maren is a tanker pilot who fights fires, while at work she has a run in with Ozzy. The meet cute was awkward but so funny, I love it! Ozzy is an airplane mechanic, widower and single dad, his life is rather complicated. Ozzy and his daughter Lola have been through so much, but Maren has him finally feeling excited for what could be.
I loved everything about this book, there were parts where I laughed so hard I cried and emotional parts where I couldn’t hold back the tears. Maren was so patient with Ozzy and Lola, giving them the time they needed and helping them overcome obstacles. I loved seeing their fun banter and friendship turn into more, these two were perfect!
Thank you Jewel E. Ann and VPR for the ARC!

This was a cute book and I enjoyed the characters and their chemistry. This was my first book by this author and I can't wait to read more!

4.5/5⭐️
I loved everything about this book. Maren falls for both Ozzy and Lola and really just never looks back. Her love never wavers and it’s exactly what both of them need in their lives.
Jewel E Ann does such a wonderful job at making emotional books that can still make you laugh. I don’t think she could have written Lola any better- she was such a 10 year old girl and her comedic relief was perfectly timed.
And don’t even get me started on Ozzy and his flowers- shining moments throughout the story.

"From Nowhere" by Jewel E. Ann is the second book in the "Wildfire" series. I was looking forward to reading it as soon as I finished "From Air".
I received an advance reader copy from Valentine PR.
Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Main tropes:
- Secret Romance
- Single Dad
- Small Town
- Tortured Lead
- Tragic Past
- workplace romance (air tanker pilot and aircraft mechanic)
This book got me hooked from the first chapter and I went through a lot of emotions while reading it.
Ozzy is a single dad to 10 years old Lola. Her mother passes in an accident two years ago, and she still has a lot of trauma to deal with.
He doesn't feel ready to date again, but after meeting Maren he cannot stay away.
Even if the relationship between them developed fast, you could see from the first meeting that they are made for each other. This doesn't mean that things are easy.
I loved every interaction between them, Ozzy's notes with the flowers, the sneaking around and the banter.
This is also an emotional story, with characters that deal with grief and trauma but also a story about second chances to life and love.
The writing is very beautiful and the characters have depth.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

5★ no notes. I'm in love with this story.
It's so real.. funny and cute.. and complicated. It's endearing and inspiring.. this book will stay with me.
There is something about Jewel's writing that just speaks to me.. but there was something about this book that stuck out. It felt special.
The story IS special. I could feel the complexity in navigating and healing from trauma. I could feel the uncertainty and unsureness while simultaneously feeling the undeniable connection amongst these characters.
From Nowhere felt so incredibly real. The struggles, the flirty banter, the awkwardness that was so endearing and the chemistry that was on fire.
Ozzy is this perfect blend of shy/confident, cute/sexy, responsible/flawed and swoon worthy. I have the biggest crush on this man... and this dad. Seriously what a dad.
Maren is this bädass tanker pilot, so mature, confident, and full of life. I love how she saw the world and how she cared for the people she loved.
Lola. This sweet, bright, hilarious, beautiful child. The way she stole my heart in every interaction. I wanted the world for her.
I just finished and I already miss them.

From Nowhere

I was completely spellbound by this book, losing myself in its pages and devouring the entire story in a single day. It drew me in with its exquisite balance of humour and heart, making me laugh and cry in turns. The narrative resonated deeply, especially through the character of Lola, whose journey is both poignant and powerful.
Maren Bernabe is a seasoned air tanker pilot, expertly navigating the skies with confidence and passion. She loves her job wholeheartedly, harbouring no desire for romance amidst her fulfilling career. In contrast, Ozzy Laster, an aircraft mechanic, is reentering the workforce after a two-year hiatus that followed the devastating loss of his wife and father. His return is not just a professional comeback; it’s a step toward healing, fraught with complex emotions.
Lola Laster, Ozzy's daughter, carries the burden of her trauma—not only physically from the accident but also emotionally due to the tragic loss of her mother and grandfather. This experience has made her refuse to get into a car, a clear reflection of the fear that dominates her life. As a result, Lola and her father travel everywhere on a pushbike. She has made her father promise to never use any other mode of transportation, as she cannot bear the thought of losing him too.
This second book in the Wildfire series captivated me, even though it's the only one I’ve read so far. The pages are infused with an abundance of love and resilience, yet they also highlight the painful obstacles the characters must navigate. Their journeys are beautifully portrayed, filled with the messy realities of life in a way that resonates. Each struggle, each trauma, and the natural trepidation of change feel incredibly authentic, reflecting the deep connection shared between Ozzy, a devoted father, and Maren, a remarkable woman. She embodies patience and unconditional love, ready to embrace both Ozzy and Lola, as they come as a package deal.

I’m sorry but JEWEL. GIRL. I need more of Maren and Ozzy. I did not think I could love this more than “From Air” BUT I DID. This was such an emotional rollercoaster in the best way. I was sobbing a good couple times because of the circumstances that keep coming up for them and their relationship.
