Oh, where do I even begin with From Nowhere? It's the second book in the Wildfire series, and let me just say, it swept me off my feet just as much as the first one did! I found myself smiling, tearing up, and swooning through every page.

We first meet Maren in the first book. She’s a tanker pilot living with her roommates Fitz and Will. Her character shines with her strength, humor, compassion, and kindness. I absolutely love her relationship with Ozzy and his adorable daughter, Lola.

And then there's Ozzy, the widower mechanic who works in the same company.
His relationship with his daughter is portrayed so beautifully, and his journey through grief and the fear of opening his heart again is both realistic and relatable that you can't help but empathise with him.

In true Jewel E. Ann fashion, this book is packed with emotion, angst, banter, and humor. Each element is woven together to create a story that is both touching and heartbreakingly beautiful.

Maren and Ozzy’s story is one of unexpected love, tender moments, and the challenges of protecting those we care for. It's a story about second chances, overcoming fears, and finding love when you least expect it. It’s a touching reminder that second chances are worth fighting for.

I especially enjoyed seeing more of Fitz and Jamie, and I cannot wait to dive into Will's story next!

I was excited to revisit the Wildfire series and get another glimpse of the characters we fell in love with in From Air. With that said, while this is the second book in a series, this is a standalone. You don’t need to have read From Air to fully enjoy this book.

The story starts off with a funny meet-cute with Maren and Ozzy. Things take off between the two of them from there, but only figuratively. While Maren is a pilot, Ozzy will only travel by bike. That makes things a little challenging in their budding relationship – and that’s only one of the many challenges. With his daughter and his in-laws living with him, it only enhances the difficulties. Add-on his internal struggles of moving on from his wife and the challenges almost seem insurmountable.

While this story includes many serious, heavy on the heart moments, it’s also filled with a lot of humor too. Ozzy’s daughter Lola adds a lot fun to the story. Kids are often times more resilient than the adults.

Overall I really liked the book and am enjoying the Wildfire series. I assume the series will continue and we’ll finally get Will’s story. I can’t wait for him to get his happily ever after.

When doing the right thing is such a hard battle to win. The love for a child, the love for your deceased wife and the love for a new woman in your life. The extreme patience one man possesses. This book is so touching and has some extreme traumatic anxiety. Also, going through some unimaginable things, that turn people into someone new. We get to learn different perspectives from everyone involved that are experiencing or have experienced a loss. What a damn good book!

From Nowhere is a fantastic read. I loved this one so much. I could not put this down. Have your tissues handy because you are going to need them. Ozzy is a single dad trying to keep it all together. I love how he gives up so much for his daughter. He's an aviation mechanic. Maren is a air tanker piolet who isn't looking for love. I love their meet cute and the sparks that fly. They have amazing chemistry and both are grieving. I love how they lean on each other. Maren is fabulous with Ozzy's daughter. I love the changes Ozzy and his daughter go through as the choose living again and let go of their grief. Maren is so good for Ozzy. I did not want this to end. The emotions run high with this one but so worth it. You need to read this today.

This book isn't out until March but I couldn't wait to read it because I absolutely adore Jewell E. Ann's books. I loved the book before this one in the series so I knew I was going to feel the same about this one.

We follow Ozzy and his daughter Lola, who are trying to navigate life after the loss of their wife/mother after a car accident. Neither expects love to come into their lives but that's exactly what happens when they meet Maren. Ozzy's in-laws aren't happy about his new relationship and he questions how far to go with Maren in terms of telling Lola too.

This was such an emotional book - typical of this author! I always know going in that I will get all the feels as I read and finish her books. I loved the characters of both Maren and Ozzy but Lola, the little ten year old totally stole the show. She was so feisty despite all she'd been through in life. I can't wait for the next book in the series - please tell me there's another one Jewell E. Ann!

A seasoned air tanker pilot, Maren battles fires across the rugged Montana wilderness. With firefighters for roommates, she’s no stranger to tough guys—or tough situations. Ozzy Laster is the helpful stranger she meets, one of Cielo Aviation’s newest aircraft mechanics who’s faced his fair share of hardship too. Two years ago, his wife and father died in a car crash. Now Ozzy and daughter Lola shun cars in favor of bikes.
This book was breathtaking, beautifully crafted with depth of emotion that touches your heart.
It makes you laugh, swoon, shed a tear for the trauma Ozzy and Lola have been through and tug at your heartstrings with it's poignancy.
I'd have loved to read more and more of their story right until they're old. Letting go of these two was hard, I read it slower to stay connected with them and not let them go.
Total book hangover and one of those books that breathe life into you.

While I did read the previous book from the series, I believe this book can be read as a complete standalone - and I think it could be read out of order, and you wouldn't have any spoilers.

It is told in Maren and Ozzy's alternating POV and I will say that I loved the consistency of his daughter, Lola, being presented throughout the entire book. Unfortunately, I struggled with this book. Maren came across very immature and he attitude towards Ozzy putting his daughter ahead of everything in the beginning was very offputting. Ozzy definately came across as still grieving and willing to do whatever it takes to help his daughter heal, even to the extent that it may be delaying it. It was also a bit odd that, after everything that transpired, it was all just magically all better.

The meet cute alone is both embarrassing and perfect and I adore Maren (I have from the first book). Add in Ozzy, a single dad who is amazing (what he does for his daughter is just endearing, loving and swoonworthy) and we have an amazing romance. And then Lola and her adorableness, the rest of the cast of characters and this small town romance has the perfect formula to keep me enthralled and transfixed until our couple and his daughter get their HEA. A wonderful romance and I look forward to the next installment. Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for an early read.

When Maren Bernabe stops by the office to update some paperwork, she’s not looking for love. Then sparks fly during an awkward meet-cute with a stranger in the bathroom, and suddenly anything seems possible.

Maren and Ozzy fall hard, but guilt forces them to hide their relationship from Ozzy’s disapproving in-laws. And Lola. They all want to protect her from more heartbreak. But when tragedy strikes again, Lola’s reaction will surprise them all. And Ozzy could get a second chance at love after all…

I loved this story so much. Will recommend to others

JEA readers are highly anticipating the books that follow From Air and I am extremely stoked to be one of the first readers to read From Nowhere. Is it just me, or am I the only one that has tears in her eyes reading the dedication?
From Nowhere is full of highs and lows, from totally awkward first encounters (bahahaha, only JEA can write the most cringe-worthy encounters) to how debilitating grief is. Maren is no-filter, bad ass air-tanker pilot, while Ozzy is a new aircraft mechanic. Sparks fly and even Ozzy's 10 year-old daughter, Lola, is starting to love Maren. And omg, Lola reminds me of Morgan from Fortuity (another awesome JEA book)...too smart for her own good. Their budding relationship is threatened by Ozzy's disapproving in-laws, fear, and Ozzy trying to protect Lola. It is time Ozzy stops living in fear and smart girl Lola helps to smack him into reality. Love this!

4.5/ 5 STARS

This second book in the Wildfire series was wonderful.

I laughed a lot… I mean, just the way Maren and Ozzy met… I have no words!!!

And Lola… She was adorable. Making her dad feeling embarrassed seemed like her main job and it was hilarious.

And of course, the author being Jewel E. Ann, drama and tears were guaranteed, and she did a wonderful job with a grieving Ozzy and a selfless and nurturing Maren.

I had a very hard time with some characters and wanted to punch a certain person several times, but, again, the author is excellent with human traits and their feelings…

This love story was heartbreaking and beautiful, and we also got some hints of a potential couple, so I’m really looking forward to the next book!

I can’t wait!

I swear, this woman knows how to write. Probably why I love her books so much. Yes you Jewel!

This book, ugh, beyond perfection. I don't even know how to write this review, I am still trying to process what I just read. I was absolutely hooked from the very beginning and I literally could not put this one down. I read it pretty much in one day and it was truly so so good.

This is the second book in the Wildfire Series which this story follows Maren which you meet in the first book From Air. I felt such a connection with Ozzy and Maren in this one (as well as Lola of course). You get Ozzy, The single dad trying to raise his daughter and trying to find love again. You have Maren, the pilot who also looking for love.
This story is filled with such emotion. You get heartbreak, you get happiness, anger, joy, humor. You name it. I say Anger because there is a certain character in this book that I just could not stand!! (Cough Mother in law cough) I just wanted to tell her to shut up so many times!!

Seriously a top 5 star read for me for the year and I cant wait to eventually have a copy of this one too on my shelf once it releases.

This is such a beautiful, heartbreaking story. A heartfelt tale with a funny beginning and a wonderful ending. It's a story full of love, pain, healing, and fear—and how to overcome that fear. Both Maren and Ozzy are wonderful characters, and their slow-burn romance, along with all the obstacles they face, makes for a truly beautiful, must-read story.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. Ozzy was my favorite from the start - his genuine and simple affection, love for his daughter, and desire to be a good man drew me in and made me cheer for him and Maren. The development and deepening of their relationship throughout the book was well written, and the banter had me cracking up multiple times. Jewel E. Ann remains a must-read for me whenever she publishes a book, and I'm excited for the rest of this series!

Phenomenal Writing!!!!

Thank you NetGallary for an early review copy of From Nowhere!

This is another fantastic book from Jewel E. Ann!

This book took my breath away! This story has it all, love, tragedy, recovery, humor and steam. It is compelling and superbly written! This book shows you we all need to keep our eyes and ears open during good and not so good times. A special moment can come from nowhere!

The character development was perfect! I was thinking about this book when I was not reading it. You know you are hooked when that happens!

I absolutely LOVE Jewel’s writing!
I am really hoping Jewel writes Will’s story. I strongly believe all three roommates deserve a chance to shine bright!

This is one of Jewel’s best in my opinion! A masterpiece that kept me engaged the entire time!

No spoilers with my review! This is a must read!

This second story in the series that follows a group of roommates as they each find happily ever after is just as endearing as the first. I did manage to confuse myself and read this one first! Maren and Ozzy story starts with a pretty funny meet cute and carries on in the same note, well except for the tragedy that left him a widow and single father. He and his daughter ride their bikes everywhere as a car is out of the question, I will not say more about it so not as to ruin anything for anyone. You will find out all the answers. It is pretty emotional, a lot of manipulation happening from his mother in law that really makes for some hard reading. He finally finds someone that makes him feel a little alive and wants to protect his and Marens time together, Which is not easy when his daughter wants him to find someone to love, and she likes Maren just as much as he does. But healing takes time and their is no one fits all solution, they are really in for a rough time. I really enjoyed this one too, more that the first as I really love a single dad story. Maren is a saint and I loved her to pieces, truly a wonderful, loving human being and I was so invested in their journey to happily ever after! I hope everyone loves it as much as I did. Lola is an amazing little girl full of spirit and an open heart despite her tragic story. What a journey they all went on!

What a powerfully gripping story of growth, grief, and connection. Deeply emotional, with typical Jewel E Ann humor and banter, this book was an immensely enjoyable read.

Ozzy tragically lost his wife and his father, and almost his daughter, in a car accident. As a result of the trauma, he and his daughter bike everywhere in town. This is the story of a father’s deep love for his child, as well as a love story between Ozzy and Maren, a pilot. She turns his life upside down, and ultimately, paves the way for healing, hope, and love…not just for him, but his daughter as well.

I loved the characters, the multifaceted relationships, the banter, the sweetness. This was a wonderful follow up to From Air.

Another gem of a book from one of my fave authors! This one features Maren and Ozzie and we get plenty of meet cute, flirty moments and all the angst we can handle. I loved Ozzie with his little girl and also appreciated how patient that Maren was with his previous trauma. This one felt gritty and realistic and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for everything to work out. Also loved the interactions with the characters from the previous interconnected book. Can’t wait to read more from this world!
