After reading and loving From Air I was really looking forward to Maren and Ozzy's. story. This one was less twisty than other books by this author, but it had her trademark insightful portrayal of complex characters with big issues to overcome. Beautiful story as I have come to expect from Jewel E. Ann.

This book had me hooked from the very first sentence and I just couldn’t stop reading. The story, the growth, the pain, the love were all so beautiful. You won’t regret reading this one

I adored the first book in the Wildfire series, and was quite worried From Nowhere wouldn’t live up to Jamie and Calvin’s story. However Maren, Ozzie and Lola had me engrossed from the very first page. That was some meet cute!

Just like the previous book, From Nowhere is a perfect blend of love, acceptance, trauma and growth. Balanced in a way that it pulls at your heartstrings, but also has you wildly grinning throughout. I loved the respect and passion Maren had for each other, and for Lola. I paced myself with this one, as I didn’t want it to end. Very much looking forward to Will’s story now!

Thank you Montlake for an early copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

THIS SERIES! I am so in love with the characters, the setting, and the unputdownable stories!!

Maren, Ozzy, and Lola’s story (yes Lola. Let’s be serious she stole the show) grabbed ahold of my whole damn heart and never let go. This was another 5⭐️ stunner from Jewel. From that awkard meet cute all the way to the very end, I could not get enough of this heartwarming, emotion filled romance. And the BANTER! Omg this series has by far some of the best banter I have ever read.

It truly was the perfect mix of humor, healing, and heart that resulted in one unforgettable read.

What I loved;
🔥 Slow Burn Romance
🔥 LOL Banter
🔥 Single Dad
🔥 Lola
🔥 ALL The Feels

I said it with From Air, but it bears repeating, this is by far my favorite series of Ann’s and I cannot wait for book three.

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the advanced copy

This is the second book in the wildfire series. I loved the first one, but this one topped it hands down.

Jewel E. Ann is a master storyteller and weaved the perfect amount of banter, vulnerability, and heart into this story. This might be my favorite single dad story to date.

Can't wait for the next book in this series.

From Nowhere is the second book in the Wildfire series and tells Maren and Ozzy's story. And what a whirlwind of feelings and emotions this story delivers.

You meet Maren in book one- From Air. I adored her and couldn't wait for her book. An air tanker pilot, she fights fires across that state of Montana and beyond. An awkward meet cute in the washroom at work with newest aircraft mechanic Ozzy will draw you in. From there an attraction evolves into a flirty friendship and longing. Filled with tension and chemistry that slow burns into some sneaky steamy situations. Sneaky because Ozzy is still healing from the loss of his wife. Living with his in-law's who aren't always supportive, while not wanting to harm his daughter who is still struggling from the trauma of the car accident that took her mom. Can there be a second chance love story here. Especially when tragedy strikes again.

Like any of the author's story- this one was unique with all the feels. There's banter and humor. But also angst and emotion. These characters are unique and complex. And a little bit quirky. There were many aspects of this story that I adored. Every flower and note bundle for example. But there were a few aspects that I didn't love as much. Including the fact that this felt more like Ozzy's story than Maren's. In the end however, the emotion completely captivated me. I had tears in my eyes while feeling so conflicted too in those latter chapters. This author's books don't just make you feel, but make you think too. I enjoyed getting more from Fitz and Jamie. As well as Will. I am really looking forward to his story next! Definitely a series you don't want to miss!

Alright, so I just finished "From Nowhere," and wow, I have thoughts. First off, this book was a "ride." It’s one of those stories where you keep reading because you’re curious about what’s going to happen next, even when you’re side-eyeing some of the choices made along the way.

Let’s get the weird stuff out of the way first—Lola (Ozzy’s 10-year-old daughter) did not feel like an actual 10-year-old. Some of the things she said and did? Yeah, no kid that age would realistically act like that. It pulled me out of the story more times than I’d like. And don’t even get me started on how fast Maren and Ozzy’s relationship moved. One date in, and Maren’s already thinking about buying a house and reshuffling her life to fit these two people she just met. Insta-love is one thing, but this was warp-speed romance.

Now, onto the good stuff: the bond between Ozzy and Lola was genuinely heartwarming, and Maren had a strength about her that I appreciated. She didn’t lose herself to fit into their chaotic lives, which was a nice change of pace. The world-building was solid, and the secondary characters added enough flavour to make the story feel lived-in. Plus, there’s a rawness to the emotional moments that definitely tugged at my heartstrings.

But...the dialogue? Yikes. Some of the conversations between Maren and Ozzy were so awkward I actually winced. No one talks like that, and if they do, I need to meet them because I have questions. Also, Tia (Ozzy’s former in-law) was "a lot." She had her moments, but man, she tested my patience.

Overall, I’d give this one 3.5 stars.

Once again we meet Maren, a fire fighter pilot. She is a strong character, but underneath, she has emotions flying through her as she tries to deal with all things that have happened in her life.

Ozzy works with Maren and he has his own issues raising a daughter on his own, with the help of his in laws. He feels that he needs to focus on his job and his daughter and not think about a relationship with anyone.

This story touches the emotions of the characters and what is occurring in their life and how they react to the triggers that they come across. Adding in lots of physical moments in this book, it is the perfect balance to the storyline of these characters.

I was so looking forward to Marin's story and Jewel didn't disappoint. I feel in love with Ozzy. And with Ozzy's daughter Lola. A tragic car accident left Lola scarred and without her Mother and fearful of ever entering a vehicle again. Poor Ozzy is forced to ride his bike everywhere having promised Lola to not get behind the wheel of a car. Fast forward 2 years to his meet cute with Marin and the slow, incredibly romantic wooing ensues.

It was heartwarming and sweet and just what I needed after a string of October dark romances to get my heart lifted and ready for the holidays.

I have to say, that was probably one of the weirdest books I've ever read... There were so many small elements about the story that were strange (like Lola's obsession with her dad having sex, the relationship between Ozzy and Tia, the way Ozzy and Maren met) but then there were also larger structure and pacing issues that I found strange as well. For one, I think the whole romance moved incredibly quickly. I believe they'd only gone on one date when Maren was already talking to Jamie about how she wanted to move out of her friend's house and buy her own place, with Ozzy and Lola seeming to be part of the reason she wanted to do that. I also think that Lola wasn't written authentically as a ten year old girl. There were so many pieces of dialogue where it was clear that a girl her age wouldn't be saying that or having those feelings, and it really took me out of the story. But somehow, the book was still really compulsively readable, which is why I've given it two stars. I think it should have been longer, to really build out the relationship between Maren and Ozzy before the romance started, and I think more time should have been spent fleshing out how a ten year old speaks and interacts with adults before pen went to paper on this book. But I had a decent time, so I can't complain too much.

Easily one of my favorite books, ever. I haven't teared up while reading a book in a while, and this one bad me sniffling so much. I didn't expect all the raw, real emotions to hit me so hard.

"You're a beautiful mess."

Maren is a tanker pilot who helps fight wildfires. She's endlessly fearless in both life and love. When she meets the new plane mechanic Ozzy she's instantly smitten and forms a quick, flirty friendship with him.

“If I weren’t riding off into the proverbial sunset on a bicycle, I’d kiss you. But my life is complicated, so I have to take it slow.”

Ozzy is hesitant at first because he's loved and lost. He's a single dad to his 10 year old daughter Lola and they both stole my heart early on. Ozzy fiercely loves his daughter and has a hard time navigating his way through the emotional turmoil of finding love again with Maren.

I loved all the fun banter that these two had while getting to know one another. They were like a breath of fresh air to one another, slowly bringing each other out just enough to feel comfortable and confident to be their true selves.

From Nowhere shows us that sometimes there's love worth fighting for. We see characters overcoming fears and trauma, and how love can get you through some dark, harrowing times.

5 ⭐ 3 🌶️

This story took my breath away. The love between Ozzy and Maren was absolutely beautiful and watching him and Lola heal was incredible. Jewel balanced heartbreak and belly laughs in ways I'm not sure I even understand. I swear I would be biting my nails one minute and cracking up the next and soon after wiping away my tears. This book was filled with so much emotion and I couldn't get enough.

These characters were amazing. Even Tia, who was the bane of this Ozzy's existence, had a fantastic story arch and character growth. But I'm not sure I loved watch anyone grow like I did Lola... This girl was freaking everything and so many moments with her had my heart squeezing. I loved her to pieces and loved her moments with Ozzy and with Maren.

I'm hoping this is a trilogy and Will is up next. I love nothing more than a reformed playboy and I'm thinking he'll fit that bill. Even more so I'm so excited to hopefully get back to Missoula and spend more time with these characters.

You can guarantee that each and every book Ms Jewel E Ann writes has something memorable that quickly reminds you about the book.
In from nowhere is how Ozzy met Maren……in the men’s toilet at his work…..but what she asked him for was priceless and laugh out loud funny.

The humour was great and mixed in with the sad circumstances on why Ozzy is a widower and why his inlaws live with him to help raise his 10 year old daughter Lola.

Ozzy Lola and Maren’s journey is complicated, heartbreaking at times but well woth the effort. Lola and Maren whilst not blood related are like 2 peas in a pod and Ozzy couldn’t be more happier!

I have read every book by this author and I continue to look forward to each new release. You would think she has run out of ideas and new stories and scenarios but nope! This is another winner!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Ms Jewel E Ann and publisher Montlake for the early copy!!

Jewel E. Ann knows how to pull your heartstrings. And she truly writes the best banter and meet cutes. This story is filled with complex emotions, overcoming fears, tragic pasts, and an abundance of love. Maren, Ozzy, and Lola will melt your heart. These three had me laughing, smiling, tear filled, and swooning. Their journey is heartfelt, extremely emotional, and filled with love. It is simply stunning.

“How does she deserve to be loved?”
“Like I want nothing more than to watch her soar.”

ANOTHER HIT FROM JEWEL!! I just cannot get enough of her writing! Another 5 star read, as if I had any doubts. I loved everything about this -- the banter, the chemistry between them, and all of the side characters. Of course no Jewel story is complete without a little emotional damage, and when it hit I couldn't stop the emotions.

I'm excited to see what's in store for the rest of this series, and am hoping Melissa gets her own story. Jewel just creates amazing characters you can't help but get attached to!
