I loved the slow burn in this story. The main characters were amazing. They seemed so real. They were true to themselves, dealing with real life issues and just a fun relationship to watch unfold. Maren turned down a proposal, left her job as a park ranger and returned to the town she grew up in, where she plans to continue fishing and revitalizing the bait shop she inherited. Josiah, Maren's brother's best friend, is there taking over the family resort and raising his two kids solo. Not only does Josiah start to fall for her, but his kids (including his autistic daughter) start to fall for her too - and she feels the same way about him. Will they be able to make it work despite all the baggage that they carry? I loved the chemistry, the budding relationship and how they both prioritize the kids. A sweet and enjoyable book!
Thank you netgalley for my advanced audio copy.
CATCH AND KEEP is a cute romance featuring a single dad and his friend's little sister who grew up to be hot.
Maren flees her boyfriend's public marriage proposal and returns to a lake in Northern Wisconsin where she used to spend time as a kid. A kind man left her his bait shop; it needs a lot of work but she's motivated to fix it up (and avoid her day job of park ranger, especially considering she lost out on a promotion to her now ex, who'll be her new boss). It doesn't hurt that Joe's nearby.
I really enjoyed this one while I was reading it, and it was a fast read, but I didn't quite fall for these characters (if that makes sense). I think maybe I needed a bit more plot - some things were tidied up perhaps too quickly or easily. To be sure, Joe's kids are incredibly cute, and there's nothing wrong with easy. I'd read an adult romance by Erin Hahn again.
I liked both narrators' performances (Zura Johnson and Michael Norman Johnson).
I loved Catch And Keep so much. The love story and Maren and Joe had all the perfect elements - the brothers best friend, a beautiful lake, and starting over. Their love story is cute, realistic, and swoon worthy all at the same time. The reader will genuinely like and root for the two main characters.. I loved everything about this book!
Oh, I loved this book! I have had such good luck with Erin Hahn’s work. She writes characters that feel real to me and who I care about in both her young adult and adult novels. Maren and Joe were so good together. They were both dealing with some pretty big issues and I loved watching them learn to lean on each one just a bit. I had a fantastic time watching this pair find their happily ever after.
Maren returns to her hometown to restore a bait shop she inherited after her boyfriend’s proposal goes spectacularly wrong. Her brother’s best friend lives in town and is busy raising his two kids alone after his ex-wife left. When Maren notices he could use a helping hand, she steps in to do what she can without asking. It doesn’t take long before she grows closer to the kids, along with their dad. I really liked Maren and Joe together. They have known each other for most of their lives and seem to have an immediate connection when they reconnect.
Zura Johnson and Michal Norman Johnson did an amazing job with this audiobook. I thought that their voices complimented each other perfectly. I loved the way that they brought these characters to life through the voices they used. I felt like they added just the right amount of emotion to their reading to really pack a punch. Their narration added a lot to my overall enjoyment of this story.
I would recommend this book to others. I found this to be a delightful romance filled with incredibly likable characters. Maren and Joe belonged together and I loved the fact that the kids (and Maren’s dog) added a lot to the story. I can’t wait to read more of Erin Hahn’s work.
I received a review copy of this book from St. Martin’s Griffin and Spotify Audiobooks.
I enjoyed this audio immensely! The narrator was absolutely spot on. I fell in love with the characters and the writing in general that I’m on my way now to download all of her books!
This was a great single dad / brother's best friend romance! Centered around Maren and Joe, this romance was honestly just so dang sweet and set in a gorgeous woodsie backdrop in Wisconsin. Maren flees a very unwanted marriage proposal by returning home, where she runs into Joe and his two kids. Maren just seamlessly fits into their family dynamic without even trying and falls hard for Joe's kids (as did I!). The romance is def a slow burn but I enjoyed it a lot.

Thank you to NetGalley, publishers, and Erin Hahn for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. To begin candidly, I don’t believe this book was a good fit for me, and that’s perfectly fine. While I generally enjoy romance novels, this particular story did not resonate with me.
This novel tells the story of a single father and a romance with his best friend’s younger sister. One of his children is autistic, which adds depth and heart to the narrative as she builds a meaningful connection with both children, and they grow to love her in return. The protagonist, Maren, has a passion for fishing, a skill she learned from a close bond with an elderly mentor during her childhood. Joe, the single father, is a truly endearing character, and the romance unfolds as a slow burn.
It was seriously adorable! Spicy but not too much spice great story building, plot, and representation of autistic children/outdoors women! I loved it so much
This book was DARLING! I loved every single page. I could not put it down. Erin Hahn you created such a wonderful story.

I am a big thriller fan but every once in a while I like to read a nice sweet romance.
This is my first Erin Hahn romance.
When I read the blurb ~
In Erin Hahn’s latest cozy, swoony romance, Maren Laughlin has been fishing her whole life, but she’s finally ready to be caught.
This story features Maren Laughlin and Joe who is a single dad with two adorable children, Anders and Lucy.
I was sure I would enjoy this and am positive most romance fans will love it!
However it wasn’t a cozy romance but a raunch-com, steamy romance that includes IMO unnecessary f-bombs and other profanity.
This was not the genre I was expecting….thus my disappointment and low rating.
I have no doubt that Ms. Hahn is very talented and has an audience that loves her!
Want to thank NetGalley and Spotify Audiobook for granting me this audiobook.
Publishing Release Date was October 15, 2024.
I didn’t think this series could get any better but this story (Book 3) is the cherry on top of a perfect series. Maren and Jo are epic. I loved them. I loved that their past wasn’t this creepy twisted thing but a beautiful, beautiful way to explain their interwoven family-friends dynamic and how her YouTube channel wasn’t something he lusted after, but used to remind him of home. The glimpses of characters from books 1+2 was cute but explained enough that this could be read as a total standalone novel.
It’s 300-ish pages and I could not get enough of the audiobook. Buy now, library request, do all the things and read this book.
Okayyyyyyyy favorite Erin Hahn yet!
This book. These characters. This life. REAL. The feelings. OMG.
ERIN HAHN THE KIDS. How?! What?! Those babies. I was feeling all the feelings because they were perfection in little human souls. How could their mother ever?? Ugh Anders. Lucy. In absolute love with them.
Okay and Joe?! Talking to her friends other halves first?? Can we discuss the swoon. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful bromance group. Why is this man not a real life human walking around?
Maren. Oh goodness. I adored her. Standing up for what she wanted (finally). With the kids. With the shop. With her friends. WITH JOE. Oh goodness with Joe. And Rogers 🥹
PLEASE read this book. You won’t regret it.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review.
I loved the Wisconsin lake setting and the story of watching the FMC rebuild her life. The tight family was like a warm hug, and this was just the right balance of sweet and steamy. My only big issue was putting up with the older brother — his character not being solidly in the villain category (especially in the first half) was grating.
A great read any time of year that made me want to find some lake life peace.

Thank you St. Martin’s and Spotify Audiobooks for the gifted eARC and ALC of Catch and Keep! I loved it!
Why — WHY! — did I wait so long to read Erin Hahn? This sweet and spicy romance featuring a single dad and a famous fisherwoman is set in the Northwoods of Wisconsin (love!) and has all the charm I’ve come to expect from the midwest. The book just FEELS like a hug. It features so many tropes — second chance, friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, single parent — but never feels cliche. I always love when rom coms feature strong female friendships and Catch and Keep brings it in spades with Maren’s two best friends. Apparently this is the third in the series and the first two featured each of the BFFs, but you don’t need to read those to love this one.
This is the perfect fall read to cuddle up with, especially if you love single dad MMCs, strong and independent FMCs, and books set in the Midwest!
Audio: This dual POV book is narrated by two performers — always a plus! Marin is performed by Zura Johnson, who brings depth, emotion, and authenticity to her portrayal. Josiah is narrated by Michael Norman Johnson (no relation to Zara, from what I gather, but someone correct if I’m wrong) delivers a similarly engaging and authentic performance. Highly recommend the audiobook!

As someone who loves the outdoors, I really enjoyed this one and now I want to go fishing!
I really loved the chemistry between Maren and Josiah and especially the forbidden aspect with her brother saying he was a no go zone and that Josiah is her brother’s best friend.
Maren’s brother thinks she is too immature and that Josiah has too much shit on his plate with being a single parent to two kids, one with a disability, and an ex wife that signed over her rights. So really, from his pov, you kinda get why he doesn’t support them being together and why he told Marren before anything even happened to not let it.
But sometimes the people we need are the people that those that love us don’t always see why they fit for us, until they get the chance to see how coming together makes them both stronger and brings something they each needed to the relationship.
Overall, this was a sweet and fun read with well done spice that had me blushing, and I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, me written by women that take care of their women are top tier!
Thank you so much to Macmillan for my ALC and SMP for my ARC!
Thank you, NetGalley, for the early release of this wonderful rom-com!
I loved this book! The plot was fun and engaging, and the characters were so relatable. The addition of kids to the usual romance storyline brought a refreshing twist, adding both heart and humor. It made the story feel even more real and charming. A fantastic, feel-good read that I highly recommend!
This was so good and has all the fall vibes! Catch and Keep is the third book in Erin Hahn's adult romance series, but it reads like a standalone. Maren, currently unemployed and newly single, returns to her family's vacation spot in the Northwoods of Wisconsin to figure out what to do with her life. Her childhood mentor left her his bait shop and apartment, and she welcomes the chance to get back to her fishing roots at the lake. While she's renovating her inheritance, she reconnects with Joe, her brother's best friend. Joe is an ex-Marine who has sole custody of his two young children, and he manages his parents' lake resort. There are so many heart-warming scenes with Joe and Maren, and scenes with Maren getting to know Joe's children. I loved the cozy lakeside setting, and the wholesome storyline with a heavy sprinkling of spice (don't be fooled by the cute cover). I listened to most of the book on audio, and I really enjoyed both narrators. The audiobook was a wonderful companion over a weekend of chores, and I highly recommend both the audiobook and print versions! Thanks to Netgalley, Spotify, St. Martin's Press, and the author for the librarian preview copy.
I enjoyed this one a lot. Maren and Josiah were amazing together and I absolutely loved Anders and Lucy. I just about swooned every time Lucy said she was Maren’s baby and her relationship with Anders was special and a joy to read. I loved seeing Josiah with his kids too. Karen’s brother and Josiah’s ex wife were pieces of work and really worked my nerves. I was glad when Maren finally put Liam in his place. The romance was perfect and getting to see Lorelei and Huck and the other friends was a lot of fun! I also enjoyed the narrators for this book and the audiobook was easy to get immersed in.
3.75 Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an audio copy of this book. This was a really cute romcom with fall vibes and something a little different and unique. It wasn’t the typical type of character tropes that you see so I appreciated that. I love the love interest’s kids being a part of the story, they were so cute!
3.5 Stars Catch and Keep wraps up Erin Hahn's interconnected stories of three best friends' romances. It's a cozy friends to lovers, single dad, small town, brother's best friend romance.
Maren Laughlin's life has turned upside after she threw up on her boyfriend's shoes while he proposed, rejected said proposal, and quit her job as a park ranger. Returning to the Northern Wisconsin resort where she spent her childhood summers learning to fish, Maren is going to spend this time figuring out what to do next while fixing up her inheritance from her mentor: his old worn down bait shop. Everyone seems to be judging Maren's actions, most especially her older brother, Liam. Thankfully, Liam's best friend, Josiah "Joe" Cole sees Maren trying her best and has no place to judge after what he's been through. Despite his marriage falling apart, single dad and Marine veteran is proud of what he has: his two wonderful kids and running his parents' resort. Maren is a breath of fresh air in Joe's life and adores his kids almost as much as him. Things between Joe and Maren are easy--could it be too easy or is it real love this time?
Catch and Keep feels so different from any other romance I've read despite the familiar tropes and I think it's because of the setting and the FMC. I've never read a romance with so much fishing, let alone a FMC who is an expert fisher and leads expeditions. The setting of a resort in Northern Wisconsin was also very different, but the perfect place for Joe and Maren to fall in love. Like all romances with a single parent trope, I adored Joe's kids, Anders and Lucy. I loved how the four of them truly became a family in the last part of the book. I swear my heart grew three sizes when Lucy referred to herself as "Maren's baby."
Thank you Erin Hahn and NetGalley for the ARC! Catch and Keep releases October 15th!
