This book is not for people who are Almost 30- this book is for everyone. It covers the challenges that most young people (especially women) face in their late 20's, but I am 31, married with kids and was highlighting the heck out of this thing. It feels like a reference book, covering relationships, money, body, and spirit.
Make no mistake- this book is not a quick read. I went into this expecting it to be a cutesie self help book and it WAS NOT! It took me a full ten days with a lot of *puts the book down and looks thoughtfully in the distance* moments for me to metabolize the content.
I have been a long time listener of the Almost 30 pod and I felt like I was gleaning new insights with each chapter. There are also some really great ways of leveraging this book into further self exploration, be it with guided meditations, journal prompts, or quotes from Almost 30 episodes that a reader could dive into if the chapter really speaks to them.
I would recommend this book for women who feel lost in the sauce. I don't know how to be more specific than that, but if you are that person - you know it.
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC!

From podcast to the page! For those who have listened and follow the podcast, you may recall some of the book from it. But it's still the ladies you've come to enjoy and even learn more about them in the process.

If you haven't heard or listen to the podcast, you will still love this book.

It's one of those books that will mean something different for those who are questioning their 20s or even navigating this new chapter of your 30s. Either way, it's a great book to pick up and give it a go.

For me, it was fun, relatable, left you with questions and answering others. A great read!

I appreciated how quickly this book read. The authors are vulnerable, honest, and real. I can see how this book would be relatable to some people who are trying to get through a certain age. However, I don’t think I am the intended audience for this book as I have read countless amounts of self-help books where the content goes a tad deeper and more of a psychological perspective. If you’re looking for a lighthearted read, then this is the book for you. This is the sort of non fiction book that someone can dip their toes into before diving into the deeper end of non fiction. Overall decent read and definitely a “it’s not you, it’s me” moment.

As a longtime follower of the Almost 30 podcast, I was so excited to see they turned some of the best stories and narratives from the podcast into book form! I will say, if you have listened to a lot of the podcast, this novel will feel like a repeat of a lot of things you've already heard Lindsey and Krista discuss on the podcast. I enjoyed learning more about their backstories that led them to become friends and start the podcast. I do genuinely think there is good advice in this novel for anyone navigating this chapter of life!

Where has this book (and community) been all my twenties?! It was thoroughly enjoyable. Thought provoking but not fear mongering. Encouraging, reflective, and fun. I loved this book as a 27 year old trying to figure it out in a society that is extremely different post pandemic. I felt centred and seen reading it.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Almost 30 is an incredibly engaging, vulnerable, and witty guide that not only captures the universal chaos of transitioning into your thirties but also offers practical tools to make it a transformative journey. It’s a roadmap for turning the pressure of the entering into the 30s with an opportunity for self-discovery and fulfilment. It was quite insightful and I loved reading it.

Almost 30 by Lindsey Simcik and Krista Williams is such a relatable, refreshing read! The book feels like a conversation with two best friends who are navigating the ups and downs of life, career, and relationships as they approach their 30s. I loved how candid and honest they are about their own experiences, offering a mix of humor, vulnerability, and real-life advice. It's like a guide to embracing change, self-growth, and the challenges of adulting in a way that feels comforting and empowering. I think our library patrons will really enjoy it—especially anyone in that "almost 30" phase or anyone just looking for a book that feels like a supportive, upbeat chat with friends.

📖✨ Almost 30 by Lindsey Simcik and Krista Williams

I'm a huge fan of the podcast Almost 30, and I think this book will be so amazing for not only listeners of the show, but anyone who feels like their late twenties is one big "WTF is happening?" moment, Almost 30 is about to become your new best friend. 🫶💕 Written by the brilliant minds behind the Almost 30 podcast, Lindsey and Krista are here to hold your hand through every “almost-adult” crisis and cosmic shakeup you’re going through, including that dreaded Saturn Return (yes, it’s a thing, and yes, they explain it all). 🌌

This book is like sitting down with your wisest, funniest big sisters who totally get it. Through candid stories, wellness tips, and guidance from major guest experts like Jay Shetty and Glennon Doyle, you’ll get the tools to not only survive but thrive through the chaos. ✨ Think journaling prompts, meditations, and thought-provoking questions that make you dig deep and get real about where you’re going. I love that each chapter reveals a new life lesson that we should definitely know by the time we enter our 30s. This book came into my life when I needed it most. I have followed and been a loyal listener of Almost 30 for at least 6 years. This book opened my eyes to things I didn't realize but just needed a little push. This book is gentle and soft but also a kick in the ass when you start to do the work.
