I have never read a cozy mystery before and I am not completely sure that this book qualifies as a cozy mystery. I do know this: I really liked it. The characters were distinct and interesting. Dowdall writes them with true sympathy, even though some of them might not have the best of intentions. The plot moved along in interesting ways as well. I definitely have a new author to investigate, but I might also have an entire new genre.

I really enjoyed this whodunnit novel and how it worked with the concept being told. The characters had a charm to them and worked with figuring out what was going on. It had that mystery element that I wanted and enjoyed in the genre, and enjoyed the humor to this book. Anna Dowdall has a great writing style and can’t wait for more.

This book was just OK for me, it had a little bit too much going on, which made it a bit chaotic, and hard to follow. The idea of a nun being someone that is investigating crimes is a little bit weird to me. It was too predictable, too many things I was able to guess we’re going to happen did end up happening which I hate.

Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complementary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!
