This is so cute!! The pictures are sweet and it really helps kids learn more about their imagination. I will certainly get a copy for my nephews. I think they will love it! :)
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!
My 3yo loved the illustrations, I loved the story. The rhyming felt very “Dr Seuss” at times. But that’s not a bad thing in my book. I loved the rhythm of the words and the creativity used.
This story will help kids find their imagination. It was beautiful to read.
An introspective book for children. This could take up an entire night of bedtime reading. An interactive book which children can understand.
How Do I Wonder? is the CUTEST picture book about imagination and curiosity. It poses so many fun, creative questions about the world and encourages readers to think outside of the box about the world around them. The illustrations are beautifully done, and the prose has a very lyrical quality with a rhyme scheme that flows smoothly. I can see the children with whom I work loving this book, both for its bright, fun colors and its literary content. This will definitely be one I pick up and suggest to young readers.
Every kid should read this. The pictures are magical, and every page has such interesting questions, full of intriguing ideas. This book really gives the idea that questions are limitless and it's wonderful to ask and learn about whatever you're interested in. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
This delightful picture book encourages kids to see the world in fresh and creative ways through playful questions and vibrant illustrations. It’s perfect for sparking curiosity in young readers and helps them embrace a growth mindset. With each silly prompt, children can discover the joy of wondering and exploring, wherever they are.
My son loved this book! We love the lesson of never stop asking questions and to always be curious and open to learning. Would absolutely keep this book on a shelf to read often.
A cute story celebrating curiosity, how our minds work, and spending time without distractions to ponder questions. The illustrations were cute.
My 3 year old enjoyed it and had enough familiarity with the elements of the pretend questions that were posed (dinosaurs, atoms, seeds, brains, …) to understand the story but some of the general vocabulary would be better suited for grade school age. I’d gift this one to kids in the 4-7 year range.
Thank you to NetGalley and The Collective Book Studio for the advanced copy.
This book was ok....I kind of felt like it was two books in one. As a mother, I love books that make you think and ask questions. I love seeing the looks on my kids faces as they ponder. But this book felt like it was asking lots of questions but then offering an understanding of maybe why you ask questions, or where to find your wonder...in your mind. idk, I liked parts but overall, it's just missing something or I felt it got a little sidetracked somewhere. Hope this makes sense.
'How Do I Wonder?' explores the mind of an inquisitive child, making asking questions about the world around you endless fun. Through gorgeous illustrations, wonder is created through the joys of children's imaginations. This would be the perfect book to read before doing a thought exercise with children to spark their imagination.
Thank you NetGally The Collective Book Studio for this electronic ARC of " How Do I Wonder?" by Gianna Davy which is set to release on February 11 2025.
I love this book so much! As a Kindergarten teacher, this book is perfect to read and help students wonder. The illustrations in this book are so beautiful as well. I definitely recommend this book for a classroom and for any young child!
This was another kids book I seen available for request on NetGalley and had to get it! The cover was eye catching and clearly “wonder” was a theme I was gravitated towards. I have two little girls who are always asking questions like these or pointing things out like the moon and stars (especially when the moon is still visible in the morning). The illustrations in this book was something else! They are so colorful and eye catching it had me looking at every detail on the pages so I didn’t miss anything. This is a book that would be loved by many kids and super easy to read.
Adorable book. Felt like I entered the mind of a child. Loved the thought question, curiosity and innocence. The illustrations were just beautiful. So vibrant and colorful.
This is such a cute and fun book to encourage children to use their imaginations! I love the message behind the story and the illustrations are beautiful
Beautiful, vibrant illustrations cover this book, in colors so pleasing to the eyes. The cadence of the story is wonderful for a read along, though there are some word choices that parents/adults will probably have to explain to the kids like "innate". This story offers a important message about how our own brains can keep us entertained for hours if screens are not put in our faces. Fair warning though, I see many extra questions from kiddos coming your way after reading this book.
You'd think with all the children's books about curiosity and learning, I'd be somehow bored -- but nope! And How Do I Wonder? stands out in particular.
The rhymes are perfect to read aloud (which is more than I can say for some other kids' books), so I can see this being a hit at storytime because of that alone. The illustrations are also so cute and vibrant -- and especially fun in relation to the questions the book asks! Most importantly, I think this book does a wonderful job of exploring that childlike headspace of wondering about "silly" or "strange" questions that we, as adults, somehow learn to stop asking. It shows just how much magic can be in the endless pursuit of curiosity.
(Thanks to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.)
5 ⭐️
This children’s book is definitely one of my new favorites for our house.
The illustrations are beautiful, colorful and so lively. They drew me in right away, and also had my children hooked immediately. There were so many things that they pointed out on each page, like the rainbow snail, the kids who looked like them (they are biracial), the drawing on the cardboard box, etc.
The story itself was so creative and fun to read with them. Each question had an answer, no matter how silly. My kids definitely think lizards speak different languages, my oldest even clarified each type of lizard speaks a different set of lizard dialect. And they decided old is “mommy and daddy’s age” so love that.
As you go through the story, not only may you giggle, but your brain really starts working, thinking, wondering. Imaging new or silly things, creating cool ideas and concepts, brainstorming how something could work. It also is really encouraging of those things - curiosity, exploration, imagination. It was just a really wholesome book!
I’m definitely gifting this to all of the kids I know for holidays and birthdays.
Thank you NetGalley and The Collective Book Studio for the early read!

How do I wonder reminded me of all the questions kids ask!
This will be a great book to read with your kids over the year with all the questions. It’ll be fun to make them think but also to see how their answers will change as they age. To make this book even more fun the illustrations are sweet, vibrant, fun and dreamy.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
Did Not Finish. This book was boring and while the beginning words seemed to rhyme not all of them did.
Such an adorable story ! The illustrations are to die for and I loved the colors. I love when children’s books have rhyming schemes, it makes it feel like song. I feel like this book had all the questions kids ask all the time. I think parents should buy this book and kids will love it.
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this e-ARC.
