I loved this book! I really have got into medical themed books a bit and I was definitely getting Meredith Gray vibes with this one! I loved the relationship between her and Grayson and I was kept turning the pages well into the night. Very good suspense drama filed with romance that will sweep you off your feet
Oh My Goodness! I could not put this book down, it was just so good! The characters and the story had me enthralled!! Break My Fall is the second book in Lynn H Blackburn’s Gossamer Falls series.
I adored Meredith, she was fiery but she was kind. I loved her spunkiness but also how she genuinely cared for people. She was just a lovely character and I loved reading about her. I felt for her as she tried to figure out her relationship with Gray and figure out how was targeting her.
Gray was a sweetheart underneath all of his hurt past and he was just trying to keep those around him safe. He cared for Meredith but he was scared to let her in. I liked his growth throughout the book as he learned to trust God through everything.
The romance was sweet and I liked the connection that Meredith and Gray had. They had to work through some obstacles especially as they tried to keep Meredith safe. They were not perfect but I liked how they fought for each other. I adored Meredith’ family! They were so fun and I always love the family scenes and interactions.
But oh my, the suspense and everything in between was crazy. I didn’t know what was going to happen in the book and I couldn’t put it down. The story felt real. I love how Blackburn is able to weave in faith throughout the book while dealing with hard scary topics. Everything was just perfect.
I loved loved loved Break My Fall and I would totally recommend it! I need to read the next book, I know it is going to be amazing. Break My Fall is a clean Christian romantic suspense.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
The third book in the Gossamer falls series has left me wanting the fourth now. I really liked the character of Meredith and her profession - it's unusual to read about a dentist/papercrafter. She's also written as a strong, forthright woman. I also loved visiting the other characters in Gossamer falls and other books - they seem like old friends at this point.
The story was well written and I really enjoyed it. While a standalone book, read the others in the series as you wait for book 4. Read this book, you won't be disappointed!
I receive complimentary books for various sources, including Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.
I couldn’t wait to get back to Gossamer Falls, North Carolina!
This series centers around the Quinns, a large, closely knit, sprawling family who’ve lived in the Western North Carolina mountains for over 100 years. Book one featured Callum Quinn, book 1.5 featured his cousin, Cassie Quinn and this second book in the series, features their cousin Grayson Quinn. I’m not from a large family, so I love reading about the support, love and challenges that come with it and result from living in close proximity. Blackburn explores all kinds of ships in this series: romantic relationships, friendships, family relationships, and client relationships.
Although I enjoyed book one, this book grabbed my emotions and wouldn’t let go! I felt so connected to Police Chief Grayson Ward. The way he expressed himself and communicated with Meredith gave me a lump in my throat!
I admired Dr Meredith Quinn and her mobile dental clinic. Her determination to help the underrepresented, underserved, and the needy was commendable. I could imagine her out in Flossy, driving the windy mountain roads on a Saturday and smiling as she thought of her next client on the roster.
The humour in this story elevated it! I chuckled reading about the book return fiasco, the Mexican food ‘silent’ aftermath, and the experience resulting in gifting cow patty ornaments!
The second chances theme was woven throughout, the plot was heavier on the suspense side than the romance, and the reminder that just because one is forgiven doesn’t mean that there won’t be consequences was timely. Blackburn writes first-class romantic suspense and that’s why she’s an auto-read author for me.
This, my third book by Blackburn, was one of my most anticipated ARCs this month and it more than met my expectations. I’m impressed with the author’s rich storytelling, her authentic characters, and her ability to write a fantastic story balancing faith, romance and suspense. I can’t wait for the next installment.
I was gifted this copy by Revell and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
