Lynn H. Blackburn is known for memorable characters, mind-boggling suspense, and captivating romance, and this is no exception! Break My Fall is the second book in the Gossamer Falls series and it's another compelling story about the people of Gossamer Falls. I loved the reunion with the Quinn family and the intrigue surrounding Meredith Quinn. Who was trying to harm her, and how far would they go?
But wait, we can't ignore the romance. Break My Fall may be Blackburn's most romantic story yet! The taglines, #swoonworthy, and #positivelysizzles, are perfect for this book!
I was totally engaged in the witty dialogue, realistic family dynamics, and page-turning suspense. I highly recommend Break My Fall and can't wait to read book three in this Gossamer Falls series!
I received a copy from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Blackburn's romantic suspense falls more on the romance side, which I have no issue with since I love the romance aspect the most out of most stories. There's a large cast aka family but they weren't hard to keep track of. I haven't read the first book in the series yet but this one can be read as a standalone. There are references to the first book (I assume) but unsure of giveaways and there definitelyy conversations/information/teasers that set up the next book in the series. Despite enjoying the romantic element, I could have used some more tension with the ending. It felt too fast and then the chapter afterward kinda explained everything that didn't make sense at the time. Overall, a solid story. I liked that Meredith was a dentist as this isn't a field that's explored too much in writing and I liked the aspect of her having a large, loving family.

Break My Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn is the second book in the Gossamer Falls series, and I can’t wait for more. Not having read the first book, Never Fall Again, did not detract from my reading or enjoyment, and I hope I get a chance to read it. This Southern suspense had me on the edge of my seat more than once, along with a racing heart and engaging all my senses.
This is Meredith and Gray’s story, and we’re taken on a wild ride. She’s a dentist in her small hometown, where her close-knit family surrounds her. Gray’s the police chief, and his hands are full with all the crimes and secrets in the next town that could encroach on his territory.
Since Meredith maintains a dental clinic in that town using her mobile van, she’s in the thick of it without realizing it until it’s almost too late. They are attracted to each other, but Gray vows never to be in a relationship and possibly lose someone he loves. Meredith has tried to break down Gray’s walls and ultimately has to put up her own. Will they be able to work things out to become a couple and maybe more?
Multiple storylines are wrapped up in the overall arc and woven together nicely. We get a front-row seat to the evil that’s spreading but also the good that’s being done. There is a happily ever after after the demise of the bad guys, but I wish the story had gone on a little longer.
Break My Fall has vivid descriptions and wonderful characters in the Quinn family. Their camaraderie was welcoming, and they showed their Southern hospitality.

Break My Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn is a mix of family drama, romance and suspense all in one book!
Dr. Meridith Quinn is a dentist who has returned to her home town of Gossamer Falls to practice dentistry. One thing she really enjoys is offering clinics to nearby areas that are underserved. Sadly, there are also drug dealers and traffickers in this same area. Dr. Quinn has unwittingly stumbled into the middle of it all when she helps one of her dental patients.
Grayson Ward is the police chief of Gossamer Falls. There is an attraction between Grayson and Meredith but Grayson has some pretty high walls built around him. Can those walls be breached?
Break My Fall is the latest romantic suspense book from Lynn H. Blackburn. Break My Fall is also the second book in the Gossamer Falls series. I enjoyed this romantic suspense book. However, I think Blackburn's suspense books are different than the usual books in this genre that I have read. This book is more character driven so it moves slower than some others. There is a lot of emphasis on family ties. There is some humor. The characters aren't all perfect but the main characters are all lovable in their own ways. There is also a woven thread of faith through many of the characters in the family. I enjoy Blackburn's unique style and I would recommend Break My Fall because of that style.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within his review are my own.

Lynn H. Blackburn is a masterful storyteller, compellingly drawing you into the lives of her fascinating characters. And this new story in the Gossamer Falls collection is another stellar example and adventure into the Quinn and Pierce families of a picturesque small town. It has all the makings of a can't-put-it-down novel: suspense, intrigue, mystery and clean romance from the get go. And of course, I love how faith underpins it all.
I'm so looking forward to visiting Gossamer Falls again in her next installment!

Break My Fall is another winning story from Blackburn, combining suspense, romance, and hope in the perfect blend for an unforgettable story!
Meredith and Gray are another couple Blackburn brings to life, drawing the reader deeper into the charming world of Gossamer Falls. From the first page, I was caught in Meredith's struggle of helping those who were unjustly suffering while trying to remain safe and make wise decisions. Her tenacity in the face of evil and refusal to cower despite her lack of training in law enforcement make her one of my favorite heroines.
Gray's fierce desire to protect and serve, combined with his persistence in going the extra mile to ensure Meredith is safe, is clear from page one and only grows from there. His unfailing determination to ensure justice prevails and innocents are protected make him a hero to emulate. Combining these two with the familiar faces from previous books along with a heart-stopping suspense plot makes this a book you won't want to put down once you start.

Return to Gossamer Falls, North Carolina where the Quinn family takes care of its own. Dr. Meredith uses her mobile dental clinic to help the needy in the next county over. But what she observes is abuse, neglect, possible corruption and drug running. Police Chief Gray Ward wants to protect her and hopes for a closer relationship. When danger stalks them they are determined to bring it to a halt.
This is more than a gripping suspense story. It showcases a godly, close-knit family who takes care of each other and has a sense of community. The connection of Meredith, brother Mo, cousin Cal and best friend Bronwyn is lifelong and full of memories of adventures. When you add in Gray as the romantic interest, his personality is revealed and how much he cared for Meredith is portrayed. I would not mind some of the thoughtful gifts he gives her.
The plot had harrowing episodes that built to an exciting climax. We even see a few characters from previous books pop in. I cannot wait to return to Gossamer Falls and I will guess that the story will include a renewed relationship between Bronwyn and Mo.

I love Lynn Blackburn’s stories not just for the suspense, but because of the community she creates. On this second trip to Gossamer Falls, we have the tumultuous love story between Meredith Quinn and police chief Grayson Ward. The Quinns are a tight-knit, sometimes over-protective family, so when someone slices Meredith’s brakes, it’s all hands on deck. Gray loves Meredith but doesn’t think they can have a future. Can he protect her and keep her at arm’s length or will his defenses fall?
There’s so much to love about this book. The suspense is excellent! But what truly shines for me is how Meredith and Gray overcome both danger and relationship obstacles to find happy ever after.

It was a treat to be back in Gossamer Falls with the Quinn family. It would be hard to find a more loyal yet quirky family. Readers new to Gossamer Falls will find that Break My Fall works well as a stand-alone read, but will likely want to then read the first book to spend more time with the Quinns and learn more of the backstory alluded to in this book.
As always Blackburn provides some sweet romance as a backdrop to an intense suspense story. Danger abounds! Break My Fall is written in classic Blackburn style. Her work is consistently engaging and compelling. That is why I am never hesitant to recommend any and all of her novels. Her dialogue flows naturally, her protagonists are people it is easy to care about, and she creates vivid mental images of her settings without being too wordy in her descriptions.
I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Breaking My Fall from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Break My Fall is so good! I am enjoying this series so much! In fact, I think this may end up being my favorite Lynn Blackburn series- and that is saying something! I love the tight family relationships, the romance, the humor, and the suspense in these stories.
I loved Gray and Meredith and their relationship. It was definitely a slow burn and Gray had a lot of work to do to tear down the walls he had built up, but once he did, it was so worth it! Watch out, Meredith. I really liked Meredith and her spunky, lovable personality. Her relationships with her family makes me love this story so much. While the suspense is not the center of this story, it’s interesting and well paced.
I cannot wait for the next story in this series. I have wanted Mo’s story since he stepped on the page! Do yourself a favor and pick up this book!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is light . Five stars!

I couldn't put this book down. Lynn Blackburn is fantastic at crafting suspense that keeps me reading on the edge of my seat. After meeting both Meredith and Gray earlier in this series, I was very excited to see how their chapter of this series would unfold and I was not disappointed! There was a great combination of action, suspense, family drama (or, meddling at least), character discovery, and romance in this story. Now, I CANNOT wait for the third book in the series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Break My Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn is part of some of the best Christian romantic suspense available. Published by Revell this is the second Gossamer Falls Series book. A moving story of relationships not only in the area of romance but among family and friends too. A Southern small-town in a county full of the Quinn family, it could be difficult for a new person such as the chief of police to fit. Welcome Police Chief Grayson Ward, but they do, especially Dr. Meredith Quinn. Their rocky relationship story is a focus in the book, but it does not take away from the suspense of bringing down the big threat of county corruption in the next county.
Sometimes troubles come even when one is trying to do the right thing. We live in a flawed world, so the struggle is real. Trusting in God despite this world is a major theme in the book too. A wonderful story of trusting God and using common sense. I so appreciated how law enforcement looked to the Lord, then gave Him the glory.

I enjoyed reading Break My Fall, the second book in Lynn H. Blackburn’s Gossamer Falls romantic suspense series set in the western North Carolina mountains.
Meredith Quinn is a dentist who moved back home to Gossamer Falls to help her family when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s very close to her brother, Mo, and cousin, Cal. They all built tiny homes next door to each other on a section of Quinn land near the river.
Gray is the police chief who moved to town a few years ago. He’s good friends with Cal, but Gray has a complicated relationship with Meredith. Gray believes he can’t pursue a romantic relationship with Meredith, despite their attraction, because of his childhood trauma from losing loved ones. Meredith is frustrated that Gray seems to view her as a friend and keeps her at arm’s length.
Gray has concerns about the criminal activities taking place in the county next door. It’s not his jurisdiction and the police chief there seems to ignore the problems in the community. Gray is in contact with law enforcement agencies who are investigating the situation.
Meredith travels around the mountains doing charity dental work to help the people living in isolated communities. She talks with her patients, including children, and hears about the problems they’re facing. Meredith wants to help them, not thinking that her help could bring trouble her way.
Someone sabotages Meredith’s work van, stranding her on a mountain road leading into town. Gray is in the vicinity doing police work and assists her. They soon discover Meredith’s life is in danger, but they don’t know why.
The perilous situation forces Gray and Meredith to spend time together and they can’t deny their unresolved feelings. The impending danger raises the stakes and forces them to deal with their emotional baggage. I loved how Gray and Meredith were authentic and honest in how they worked through the obstacles in their romance.
The Quinn family are tight knit, and the side characters play an important role in the story. Family is the cornerstone of their community and they all help each other during a crisis. The suspense plot kept me guessing, and I appreciated how it unfolded in an action packed ending.
I recommend Break My Fall to romantic suspense readers who like small town second chance romances with unrequited love, family drama, an intriguing suspense plot, and a relevant faith element in the story.
Many thanks to Revell and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

Like all of Lynn Blackburn’s novels, I loved this one. This one continues the Gossamer Falls series. This is book two. I really enjoyed getting to know Meredith Quinn better. I loved the chemistry between her and Gray. This novel kept my attention all the way through. There is a lot of suspense and a twist I never saw coming at the end.
I received this novel from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

This novel is a book that I couldn’t read fast enough but at the same time, I really didn’t want it to end. The story of dentist Meredith and sheriff Gray is absorbing and complicated since they are both stubborn, opinionated and independent. Meredith has somehow put herself into the crosshairs of a local crime boss and Gray is determined to keep her safe, in spite of her foolhardiness that leads her right into danger. I loved the family dynamics, especially how Mo and Cal rallied around Meredith to protect her and how her family had to approve of Gray as a possible suitor for her. The time around the fire pit was filled with humor as well as revelations and a great way to develop the characters. The plot was fast-paced, with a lot of switchbacks and plenty of unexpected surprises along the way. I liked how the characters were able to banter with each other to keep their spirits up even in the face of imminent danger. With danger from every direction and romance that was budding and sure to bloom, this book was a real winner for me in the romantic suspense category. With plenty of intrigue, heart and hope, this novel had a compelling mystery and a captivating cast of characters.

Break My Fall, by Lynn H. Blackburn is the second book in the Gossamer Falls series. This is a nice stand alone story, yet it contains characters from the first in the series, so it is best to read the books in order. This is an easy to read, fast paced, contemporary Christian suspenseful romance that is filled with action, suspense and mystery. The writing is so clear is it easy to imagine the events and surroundings. This story has wonderful caring characters that make the story so enjoyable to read.
This is an enjoyable suspenseful story that starts out with action that never ends. Meredith has moved back to Gossamer Falls and opened an dentist office and offers outreach mobile services to those in need. She does outreach to a neighboring county that is filled with crime and unreliable law enforcement. When she appears to be endanger, local law enforcement worker Grayson comes to her aid. He quickly becomes a part of her life. I totally enjoyed this story. I especially enjoy how close Meredith is to her family and friends. I like how each of the young adults have their own small home close to each other and how they look out for and care for each other. I love how close the Quinn family is and how protective they are of each other. I found the elderly patient to be a nice addition to the story with the humor of her description. This story does contains topics such as drugs, abuse, murder and bad law enforcement workers.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story, this is my honest review.

Break My Fall is the focus of Dr Meredith Quinn a dentist who offers her practice to adults and children in underserved communities. Someone is after Meredith though and they are determined to keep her quiet. The suspense is off the charts as I was shaking with the fear of danger and it builds to quite a high. It's a family drama plotted with tension that is exciting enough to encourage you to continue reading. There is also a romance throughout which I found too make me feel passionate and enthusiastic for the couple. It's a story where you don't want to turn your back!

** “Love isn’t about efficiency. Love is supposed to be inefficient, inconvenient, and even a little weird.” **
Lynn H. Blackburn once again delivers a fast-paced thriller with “Break My Fall.”
Dr. Meredith Quinn, who runs a mobile dental van in rural North Carolina, realizes she might have overheard something she shouldn’t have at her clinic when sketchy situations keep happening to her.
So when her crush, Police Chief Gray Ward is brought in to keep her safe, she’s relieved but not sure her heart will stay safe.
As the two work together to figure out who is after Meredith, and why, they each try to deny their feelings for the other. But will their hearts give in, all while solving what’s going on in their surrounding communities?
As usual, Blackburn develops intriguing characters filled with courage but also relatable flaws and doubts. She also fills “Break My Fall” with several great themes, like overcoming fear; forgiveness doesn’t mean there aren’t any consequences; the power of words (“Words have power. I’ve seen words used as a weapons”); wanting someone to choose to love us; God has His own plans for us, we just need to trust Him; and “If more people refused to look away when they saw wrongdoing, the world would be a much better place.”
She also includes a cute reference to “Anne of Green Gables,” so be on the lookout. Fans of Lynette Eason, Kelly Irvin, Terri Blackstock and Irene Hannon will love this novel, which is due out March 18.
Five stars out of five.
Revell provided this complimentary copy through NetGalley for my honest, unbiased review.

Dr. Meredith Quinn has a heart of gold. She cares so much for those around her that need dental services in underserved areas. She goes where they are and tries to help. By going to these places, she has gotten a bullseye painted on her back, as she wants to provide help in any way possible. She has obviously made someone angry.
Grayson is a hero in uniform who wants to keep Meredith safe, and his community safe. It is completely obvious that he loves Meredith, but his heart is guarded and locked away.
This romantic suspense will take you into a dark world of drug trafficking, untrustworthy law enforcement and deep crime nestled into the mountains. The romance was sweet and slow, with second chances being at the forefront of the story. Faith plays a big role in the story as well.
Thank you to Revell and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This novel was a wonderful dive into a twisy plot of drugs, crime, and romance. I loved every page of Meredith Quinn's story. As a dentist, she's committed to making a difference and finds herself sucked into a vortex of crime she doens't understand. Grayson is committed to keeping her safe, but won't fully let her into his heart. But he can't keep her safe when he's broken her heart. This book pulled me in completely in the best way. The love between the cousins and the community is wonderful. And the crimes are twisted together.
