❝ The story is set in a world where the regency era meets fae magic, and it’s every bit as enchanting as it sounds. We follow Edwina Danforth, a human romance writer who’s desperate to land a big publishing contract. Enter William Haywood, a fae poet with charm and talent to spare, who just so happens to be her competition on a book tour. They’re both gunning for the same prize, and the sparks fly, though not the romantic kind. At least, not at first. Their rivalry takes a spicy turn when they make a ridiculous bet: who can seduce the most people during the tour. But of course, things get tangled up in the best way possible when they start realizing the person they’re most drawn to… is each other.

💭Think of Bridgerton season 2 vibes, but swap them with rival writers, and add a healthy dose of fantasy flair. I was completely hooked! As someone who doesn’t usually go for fantasy, this book was a delightful surprise. That cute adorable cover totally fooled me because wow—this was much steamier than I expected. And I loved every second of it. The audiobook is perfection—Rusti Mewha and Dani Cochrane absolutely nailed it, bringing Edwina and William’s chemistry to life with such charm and personality.

✅If you’re into enemies-to-lovers, sizzling banter, and a touch of magic in your romance, this one’s a must-listen. Highly recommend for fans of Bridgerton, fantasy romance, or just anyone looking for a fun, sexy, and utterly entertaining escape. 🩷

DNF. I have been incredibly busy, and nothing in this book was staying in my brain when I tried to listen to it. It was f=very forgettable, and I am not the biggest fan of a magical world centered in our own. I tried this out because it came with high praise from friends who I trust.

I really enjoyed this story. The narrators did an amazing job! I was obsessed with their voices. They brought the characters to life for me. I genuinely don’t have words for this book. I loved everything about it. The teasing, banter, sexual tension, romance, and the bet were to die for. I could not stop gasping and swooning. There wasn’t a moment of boredom in this story and I’m so thankful because it’s been a long time since I’ve read a book like this.

I definitely recommend for everyone to fall in love with this story like me.

Thank you to the author, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for this audiobook

I thought that this was a great cozy regency romance novel. It had an interesting and fun premise, fun characters, and a cheesy-yet-adorable storyline. I also greatly enjoyed the narrator and thought they did a good job navigating these characters.

This audio was amazing and so fun! The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life and I enjoyed every second of listening! I would definitely recommend this 100%.

Thank you to Tessonja Odette, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this alc!

Edwina is an author who writes spicy novels. She quickly discovers she has an author rival and they enter into a bet. Whoever can sleep with the most people during the book tour month wins. While Edwina writes romance novels, she’s actually not as experienced as some of her characters in that department. Fortunately, her arrogant rival is also very attractive making the bet even more difficult.

This book was SO CUTE! The banter had me cackling, I was kicking my feet and giggling, I absolutely loved these characters and this story. I can’t wait to continue this series!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, and Tessonia Odette for providing this free ARC. This is my honest review! This published on October 22nd.

I went to listen to this book with zero expectations, and to be honest I thought I was gonna hate it.

It felt like Too proper at the beginning and it was interesting seeing the combination between like historical and fantasy which was something I really wasn't expecting.
As I read someone that said that it is kind of like divine rivals, I kind of see it.

I love the dual pov, it was an interesting concept and was surprised with the spicy scenes and things that happened, like going to that party, I felt like I was blushing because, like I said I wasn't prepared for this book to be like that.

You can feel like they are rivals but they are kind of friendly, like you see him bother him but not to be a bad person.

The conclict at almost the end felt kind of weak so I just decided to ignore it and continue reading. You can hear how much he wants her and how much they want to be with each other, which is something I like in my books.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the audiobook

This was my first time reading a book by Tessonja Odette and it did not disappoint! So so fun to read and I didn’t want to stop listening! The story line was fun and kept me guessing! The world building wasn’t too complex like some romantacy books I’ve read and I appreciated that. I really enjoyed the banter between the two main characters and could’ve honestly enjoyed another few hours of storyline. I cannot wait for book two of this series!!!!

This book has been on my list for a while so when I saw it on NetGalley as an audiobook I jumped at the chance to apply! I do not regret it one bit! The story is lovely (and spicy!) and the narration was great! Though I’m partial to dual narrations and bot of the narrators did a fantastic job! I highly recommend especially if you enjoy regency fantasy (a particular favorite of mine.

I recently read the first book in Tessonja Odette's Entangled with Fae series and absolutely fell in love with the writing style. I really enjoy the way that Odette blends elements of the historical fiction and fantasy genres. Additionally, I had heard great things about A Rivalry of Hearts, so I was all the more excited going into this book. Unfortunately, I found that this book strikes a vastly different tone than that of the author's other books. I found this book a little too blunt in its writing for my liking, as well as too quirky. In my opinion, the character's didn't feel very genuine, and I got tired of the same sex jokes. Overall, I did enjoy parts of this story. It just wasn't as great as I'd hoped.

I loved EVERYTHING about A Rivalry of Hearts: the plot, the characters, the banter, the pining, THE NARRATORS, the side characters. How can you not love a fantasy romance about rival authors competing for the ultimate publishing contract that devolves into who can seduce the most people? I though this was cozy, sweet, sexy, and just the right amount of steamy. Tessonja Odette is becoming one of my favorite fantasy romance authors, and I cannot recommend this story enough. And the audiobook was fantastic and brought the story and characters to life.

Beautiful world building and descriptive prose. I fell in love with Willy and Wienie from the start. The chemistry is sizzling, but the plot is also solid and fun. There's one joke in here that I really disliked, not because of how corny it was but because it modernized the story too much and I felt like the author had to do too much work to make it fit in the story. Overall, I really enjoyed this and found the narration superb. I'm so excited to read more about Daphne and Monty in the next book and I'm hoping there's a story for Cass coming too.

What you get: Rivals to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Romcom but make it fae, he falls first, juicy banter, Human FMC , Protective and possessive, Fae bargain and more!

So I have never really read any contemporary romance books or romcom style books so I wasn't sure what to expect when entering the world of A Rivalry of Romance. But I immediately fell in love with the authors writing and the characters we got introduced to. I personally am not a big fan of a book being all about sex and some of the scenes was a little over the top for me BUT I enjoyed the rest of it A LOT. It was fun, lighthearted, cute and very easy to listen to. The dual POV was perfect and the narrators fit the characters so well.. I also want to add I did this one as a buddy read which made it even more fun and this book worked perfectly for that.

I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who thought about reading it, DO IT!

I adored this whimsical workplace enemies to lovers. The perfect blend of a RomCom & Fantasy. The smut was on point, the plot always felt it had purpose to drive their story forward. I loved the characters. Edwina was so fun and feisty and I enjoyed her and William’s banter SO much. I also loved the dual POV.

Now, I was so lucky to get the audio version of this book. Thank you to the author, Dreamscape Media & to NetGalley! I usually do not pick up fantasy audiobooks because I don’t feel like I can pick up all the breadcrumbs and end up lost in the story but this was such an exception! I have wanted to read one of Tessonja’s books for SO long! I loved the audio! The characters narrations were fantastic, I was engaged the entire book. Their voices and personality put into the characters were spot on for me. I think it was my favorite part of the experience. I can’t speak for having read the book but I highly recommend the audio. What a well done audiobook. I am excited to read or listen to more of this author’s books.

This served everything I was hoping it would. I LOVED the witty banter, dynamic relationships, and bookish theme. I full heartly give this a 5 star endorsement and would recommend it to anyone who reads RomComs and/or Romantasy. It’s a lighthearted story infused with a reader’s soul. The way Edwina transforms when she starts talking about books is so darn relatable. Edwina’s character development was delightful to explore. However, I was absolutely here for the romance and steamy bits too. The audiobook mirrored the fun and whimsy I felt in the pages. Overall, this read was super fun and plain delightful. You can’t go wrong with the audio or pages.

This was a great audiobook. The narration was really able to grab attention to the MCs voices and I really loved how the story was brought to life. This book was the perfect blend of frenemy to lover, magic and fate. The author selected narrators that really took the story and ran with it but also put 200% into the plot while also completely blew my ind with the way they emoted the characters while they began to fall for each other. This was definitely an audiobook I would listen to again.

Edwina a human travels to the fae lands for a book tour but ends up sharing one with William a fae poet. A bet is set on who can bed most lovers during month long tour wins the publishing contract who both want it for different reasons.

I thought the beginning of the story was good and it had good banter. Overall I just lost interest in the story and the characters didn’t seem to fit together for me. I didn’t like the 3rd act breakup. The audiobook helped me finish the book as story length was a bit too long.

I liked the narrators chosen for Edwina and William.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
