Well, I’m officially obsessed with the writing because I couldn’t put it down.
Fantastic plot, thorough development, and medium pacing.
No unnecessary drama but instead a story fret with tension and secrets and yea, a bit of passion.
“𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻. 𝗠𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝘀.”
Drake is the alpha’s daughter and during the Twin Comets celebration, a trusted friend takes the life of her father and her world is thrust into a game of submit and resist, all while navigating a budding romance with the traitor’s brother, Penn, and strange dreams that awakens the truth of her pack’s history.
Such a vivid and fun plot! I love the concept of zodiac and fae and vampires and immortality.
I do feel like the world could be more flushed out BUT I’m hoping we may get more in this world?
Maybe?
This is my first read by the authors (two co-writing best friends) but it definitely won’t be the last.
And that cover!!!

ARC review. Thanks to NetGalley and YONDER publishing ☺️
Drake Aspen, daughter to the Alpha of the Ophiuchus Pack, has lost everything important to her in one night. Imprisoned in her own home secrets begin to unravel and her should be enemy, Penn, is the only one she can trust!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a real quick, easy read but still had enough to keep me gripped!
The FMC was likeable and had personality. The MMC was your typical brooding werewolf type but had secrets that kept him interesting. They worked together, it was fate!
Shifters, prophecies, fated mates 😍
Without giving any spoilers, the plot was interesting and the way it evolved was exciting as the main characters had to figure out how to fix the mess occurring around them. It may or may not be the most original storyline ever but I just like a book that grips me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m a simple girl with simple needs that this story met!
Would I like to read more? Yes, yes I would! 🫶🏻
The Lost Pack by Sophie Davis follows the story of Drake Aspen as her entire world crumbles. The story begins as her entire wolf pack meets to observe the twin comets that are supposed to bring peace. Instead, the night ends in bloodshed with a coup that leaves Drake a social pariah and stranded among the pack that used to worship the ground she walked on. Throughout the story, we learn about the past of the pack and of the prophecy that Drake feels intimately connected too.
I liked the pacing of the book and the lore that the author writes into each chapter. The story took a few twists that I did not see coming that made the read really enjoyable! Very glad that I got to read this.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sophie Davis for this eARC in exchange for a review!
this was a fun romantasy book with fun werewolf aspects. The omegaverse is really getting bigger and bigger in media and it's fun to see how creative authors are with it. I love the addition of ancient prophecy.
I absolutely enjoyed this book and while it's a romance between shifters, it's not cliche or wattpad-y which is absolutely great. A few spoilers ahead.
I like how the characters developed during this book and they kept evolving or showing their true nature in some cases. I still don't see Drake as a warrior, but I'm glad she remained true to herself and not become a hateful and violent person towards the end. I absolutely adore love stories that transcend death and reappear in new lives (it reminds me a lot of Sailor Moon tbh) and this was no exception.
However, the ending was a bit obvious at some point and seeing how everything is gonna evolve make it a bit awkward or boring at times, but I still enjoyed a few minor unexpected twists.
All in all, an enjoyable book about werewolves combined with romance, true friends, and character development, but also time travel via dreams.
★★★★
🌶️
This story had it all—a slow burn packed with dark magic, twisted pasts, and a plot that kept me on my toes. Nothing about it was predictable, which I loved, and the ending tied everything together perfectly. It was fast-paced, well-written, and seriously enjoyable from start to finish.
Drake Aspen, daughter of the Alpha of the Ophiuchus pack, is about to have her whole world turned upside down. One of their own—a pack member her family took in after his father’s death—betrays them. On the night of the Twin Comets, he challenges her father’s leadership, shaking the pack to its core.
Meanwhile, strange things are happening on Snake Mountains. Strays are causing chaos, and dark magic lingers in the air. Penn Williams, the Beta’s brother who was practically raised alongside Drake, steps in to keep an eye on her—even though she’d rather he didn’t.
When Drake starts having vivid, haunting dreams, her quest for revenge begins uncovering secrets she never expected. With help from the elders, the fae, and a familiar face from her past, she starts piecing together the prophecies that surround her. The journey is full of sacrifice and pain, but in the end, Drake finds something far greater than she ever imagined.
This was my first Werewolf based book and I couldn’t be happier in the choice. I couldn’t put it down to save anyone’s life. The relationship development between Penn and Drake had me kicking my feet and smiling like a teenager 😅
3.5 stars. I enjoyed this, I was hooked very early on. I just think certain parts were either a bit too predictable and/or anticlimactic. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
I like how this book started off action packed with a significant event occurring at the beginning of the book that would affect events to come. I also like the strength of the main female character. The main male character has protector vibes and I am here for it. I also like how the book weaves past lives into the present. If you like an action packed shifter romance, the lost pack is for you!
I put off reading this for a while because I always find it so hard to find a good shifter book. I had to gear myself up for the fact that it was likely to not be that great.
I'm so glad I was wrong. There was something extra about this that I just loved - I can't say too much without spoilers but I feel like this was different to most shifter romances and I really enjoyed the characters in it.
It was really well written and I read it in a couple of days, in between life and work.
I would absolutely read this author again!
Thank you Netgalley and publishers for an ARC copy. Here is my honest review.
So, diving into The Lost Pack was a wild ride from the start. It’s clear Sophie Davis put a lot of thought into creating a unique spin on pack dynamics and shifter lore, which is honestly a huge plus for me in the paranormal genre. Right off the bat, you feel the tension and camaraderie between the characters, and I could tell that the author really wanted to make the pack bond believable and intense.
The characters are written with depth, and each has their own quirks and motivations that feel genuine. The storyline has a mix of mystery, suspense, and a hint of romance that doesn’t overpower the plot but keeps it engaging. There’s this balance between action-packed scenes and emotional moments, which I really appreciated—it never felt like too much of one thing. Also, the pacing is on point, no chapters felt like filler, which made me breeze through the book pretty quickly!
What Could’ve Been Better: I did feel like some of the lore and backstory could’ve been fleshed out a little more. At times, I wanted a deeper dive into the pack's history and their conflicts. There were moments where the plot felt slightly predictable, but honestly, it didn't take away too much from the enjoyment. I just wished for a bit more of a twist or unexpected turn.
This book does an excellent job at keeping you invested. The relationships, especially within the pack, felt authentic and made me care about what would happen to each character. There’s a steady build-up of tension that kept me turning the pages, and I’m definitely intrigued to see where Sophie takes the series next.
I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a strong start with engaging characters and a gripping storyline, though a bit more world-building would’ve pushed it to a 5 for me. If you’re into shifter stories with action, drama, and a good dose of mystery, The Lost Pack is worth adding to your TBR!
First impressions 💭
I’ve always enjoyed stories about wolf shifters, fated mates and protective alpha males, so I was really excited to start this one!
The Lost Pack was Super quick off the mark and into the action!
What I Loved ❤️
- I loved the unravelling prophecy and the dreams and trying to figure out how these two things tied together!
- I loved Drake and Penns relationship dynamic, the tension and the slow burn
- I also loved Drakes Journey, she starts out a little bit spoilt and sheltered but definitely comes into her own by the end!
What I didnt love 👎🏻
- I did want drakes fathers death to feel more impactful and it didn’t quite have that effect being so close to the start of the book with very little character development prior to the event, there was definitely shock factor though!
- I really love books with a little more worldbuilding than what the lost pack had! It seemed like a really intriguing story but we learn very little of the world and I just wished for more!

“I’ll play Princess in the tower while you go talk to the dragon…
Just don’t let your hair down for anyone else while I’m gone”
Final verdict ⭐️
3 1/2 stars!
I really enjoyed this read and will definitely be recommending this to anyone who loves wolf shifters and is looking for an entertaining standalone book! I just don’t feel like the story will stick with me and that’s why my rating isn’t higher ❤️
One must fall, so another can rise! These were the words Drake's father, alpha to the Ophuichus pack, whispered to her as he died. The man who assumes the role of Alpha, Finn the Beta of the pack, believes he is the warrior to save the pack.
Drake dreams become frighteningly real of other white wolves in positions of authority. In the dreams, she has a mate. A true mate who starts to resemble the new pack Beta, Finn's brother Penn. Protecting her at all costs will mean he has to turn on his brother. Will he follow along with his brother or find a new purpose in Drake?
Davis develops some amazing characters who the reader easily invests in. The supernatural world that is created follows the rules set out by the author, but it feels like there is a larger story that isn't being told. I'm left with questions that aren't answered at the end. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars and a 2 out of 5 peppers.
I read this book and enjoyed it. I liked the dreams leading up to the big plot twist, which I found inventive, and I appreciated the drama and angst of the premise. But ultimately this book needed so much editing! Pacing issues and gaps in justification for certain emotions or actions are the result of spending too much time on certain scenes or aspects (such as clothes) and not enough on others. The worldbuilding has such promise, but again, would’ve been better with more strategic and intentional unfolding of details and more backstory for some of the plot points (such as Finneus’’ discovery that the alpha lied to them about the prophecy). Also, So much telling rather than letting characters show themselves to us through their actions. And my biggest character issue is with the still unanswered question of how complicit Penn was in his brother’s actions that led to the murder of Drake’s father. It’s really central to my ability to buy into their love story, and it doesn’t ever get fully answered to my satisfaction.
3.5 stars
The first 10% of a book is crucial for me, and I was completely hooked by that point. I was a huge fan of the FMC and I was excited to see how she navigated the conflicts that had arisen very quickly into the start of this book. The action was exciting and the plot was surging forward.
At about the halfway point, I started having some critiques. There was heartbreak that I would have loved to see the FMC process on a deeper level to give more meaning to the story. Slow burn tension is one of my favorite tropes but I didn't really feel a lot of tension or chemistry between the FMC and MMC. There were dreams that felt disjointed and confusing until it all came together near the end, and by then I had forgotten much of the names and details from the dreams, making their purpose a little less impactful. Also, an antagonist with us for much of the book pretty much just left at the end with no more related explanation. It felt like an opening for another book, but it’s listed as a standalone.
I did enjoy the side characters- the widows and the BFF especially. I liked that there was some spice but that it was not at the forefront of the book. I also appreciated the detail of what happens to clothing when shifting (I always wonder that sort of thing when no one mentions it!).
This is one of the books you need to read the first handful of chapters and then the ball just keeps rolling. The story centers on the Alphas daughter, Drake, and her evolution as a leader in her pack. She also endures a lot of trials along the way. There’s a lot of history that develops through dreams, which may confuse people since it takes a while to put the picture together.
There are two brothers, Finneus and Penn, that are catalysts in different ways intertwined with the FMC. Finn is never likable - intentionally - and Penn the MMC wears a poker face most of the time. This is a fated mates story but doesn’t truly reveal itself until the last quarter of the story.
It is a standalone but there are loose ends with ties to side characters. There are some dream scenarios that felt like more could have been fleshed out. Other than that feeling like there were a few more things to explore or wrap up that tied to the FMC & MMC, I really enjoyed the story and had a hard time stopping my binge read.
Sophie Davis’ The Lost Pack takes readers on a journey through a world of wolf shifters, prophecies, and relentless power struggles. The story centers around Drake Aspen, the strong (if not pampered) daughter of an Alpha, who finds her life turned upside down in the course of one night of utter disloyalty. This premise sets the stage for a gripping narrative filled with action, betrayal, and a hint of romance. Her journey is not just about survival but also about reclaiming her identity and her pack. Readers will appreciate her resilience and the way she navigates her new, treacherous reality under the tyrannical rule of Finneus, a villain so despicable that he elicits a visceral hatred—an indication of Davis’ skill in crafting antagonists that evoke strong emotions.
Drake is a standout protagonist; her strength and determination make her immediately relatable and admirable. Readers will appreciate her unwavering resolve as she navigates the duplicitous landscape of pack politics and personal vendettas. Her fierce friendship with Evera, who embodies loyalty and strength throughout their trials, adds depth to her character. Evera’s steadfast support for Drake highlights the importance of friendship in the face of adversity.
One of the most compelling aspects of the book is the relationship between Drake and the Beta, Penn. While some readers may find the romantic development slow, the chemistry between them sizzles, making for a captivating low spice slow burn that doesn’t disappoint.
The writing is easy to understand without a lot of complexity and keeps you motivated to continue. My one critique would be the lack of world building or deeper details of some the elements of the story. Particularly the early dream sequences felt disjointed.
In conclusion, The Lost Pack is a well-paced tale perfect for fans of strong female leads and intricate plots. With its blend of fantasy tropes such as such as fated mates, forced proximity, slow burn with just a touch of spice, this novel is sure to be perfect for fantasy readers. Sophie Davis has crafted a world that, despite minor shortcomings, promises to keep readers invested from start to finish
Would recommend.
Thank you Netgally for allowing me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I received this digital ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
3.25 stars! Action-packed and twisty. This has a strong FMC and an MMC who will kill anyone who touches her. The dream plotline was hard to follow initially, but once it came together the author did a great job connecting the dots. The werewolf and pack terms and conditions were entertaining to read about as someone who does not have much werewolf story experience. This proves that fated mates is one of the superior fantasy tropes! I found myself wishing that I had more moments with Penn and Drake as a couple before the chaos with Finneus towards the end. Even though there were many stunning romantic moments sprinkled throughout the book, I would have loved to read more about their time together after some of the major reveals.
I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Let’s start with the good. Good plot. Good premise. Fun characters. Hot. This didn’t hook me immediately, but it also didn’t take long. The plot is basic enough but with some twists and turns. I appreciate the slow burn, grumpy romance involved, even if I did see the “twist” coming. I’ve read too many books like this to not see it coming. The sex was hot, but not too overly descriptive, I would consider it new adult level over erotica. The characters were fiercely loyal (Wolfpack, duh) and Drake’s friends are fierce. Entertaining enough to keep me reading the whole book in two days.
The bad….
The writing. Y’all it’s Wattpad. It’s fanfic. Its tumblr. It’s not great. It isn’t terrible or I wouldn’t have been able to read it.
***this isn’t a turnoff for everyone and that is fine!***
It just isn’t for me. Parts of the book read very easily and I flew through, other parts were a bit cringy, but all of it spoke to a very immature writer (which is fine! We all start somewhere and I certainly don’t think I could do better). I know this was her first published book, so maybe things have changed and she’s grown into her writing style. Also, while some of the characters had good depth, not all of them did. Not a bad book to be published first, but don’t go into it expecting a work of art. I’d give this 3.5⭐️ personally, because it really did keep me into the plot.
What happens when a single night sends your life into a tailspin, and you find yourself trapped in a mountain prison under the rule of a tyrant?
Well, if you’re Drake Aspen, the once privileged daughter of an Alpha, you pack your emotional bags and get ready for a wild ride!

With tension sizzling between them like bacon on a hot skillet, you’ll find yourself questioning: is he her enemy, her ally, or maybe even something more?
Sophie Davis creates a tale filled with revenge, betrayal, and the unearthing of long buried secrets. The chemistry between Drake and Penn is electric, making you root for them even as you remind yourself to watch your back! And with whispers of an ancient prophecy swirling around them, the stakes are higher than ever.
Drake’s journey from pawn to potential leader is gripping, and her determination to reclaim her pack will have you cheering her on.
