A quick and satisfying psychological thriller with an engaging protagonist and an interesting plot line. This would be a great beach read!

I am a massive fan of this author so when I seen this I couldn’t wait to read it and I was definitely not disappointed. It was definitely an emotional psychological thriller which kept me hooked from start to finish. I loved the writing style and how the tense atmosphere just kept building up u til the very end. So another great book by a very talented author. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review this. I can’t wait to recommend it.

We're just going to go with...I didn't care for it. The writing style and the characters were a bit odd to me. It was very much a tell rather than a show, and the voices for the various characters were just not authentic to how one would expect people to act and speak. If I heard "well, where do you think she is" or "I guess I didn't know her as well as I thought I did" one more time, I was gonna blow a gasket. That's kind of the whole point of the book - she's gone and no one knows where she is and she had secrets.

This is a dark thriller which cleverly spans timelines, characters and perspectives. I really liked the use of the character as author as a way to tell parts of the story. Some parts of this book are really dark and I think the author handles the topics well, while still allowing the reader to get smacked in the face by some of the twists.

As always Anya's books have me gripped right away, I was hooked and didn't want to put it down until I had worked out the truth about Maple's disappearance.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mother Daughter by Anya Mora is an emotional psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge nearly all the way!
This is a disturbing thriller with many heartbreaking parts. Told in past and present from different points of view.
It was so easy to connect with this story, was so easy to feel for characters and that final twist, sweet peppermint tea! That final twist just came out of nowhere and left me with an open mouth!

Ruby facing the worst nightmare - her daughter goes missing! Once Ruby survived the nightmare that no one should face and turned that into a bestselling book. Now she is worried that history will repeat itself.

I read half of the book and needed to take a couple of hours break to get back to the story as it was emotionally heavy but I was so desperate to find out who was behind the nightmare!

Thank you, NetGalley and Joffe Books for this copy!

I enjoyed this as a thriller novel, it had that concept that I was looking for and enjoyed in the genre. The overall story worked with the feel that I wanted and it was tense and atmospheric. Anya Mora wrote this perfectly and was glad I got to read this.

I DNF'd this book at 56% I had a really hard time with the conversations between characters. This girl is missing and everyone's talking about dumb stuff.

I didn't like the dialog at all.

A really great mystery that I couldn't put down. A tale of past and present colliding, I loved and highly recommend all books by this author. Curl up by the fire and read this cosy mystery with superb, fiesty characters xx

I think that the story itself was good, I enjoyed the big twist towards the end. I didn't guess the ending which is great. However, some details in the writing I just found a little off putting. There were multiple spelling errors, inconsistencies with names (initially referred to as Piper, then suddenly changed to Piper Anne, then wavered back and forth. Name spelling changed from Brittany to Brittney). A comment was made about having duct tape over her mouth and then the next sentence says "I breathe through my mouth). Otherwise, great plot!

I really love Anya Mora, and this one doesn't disappoint! She has a similar twisty suspense style to Freida McFadden, but has her own spin! I did feel like this one dove in headfirst a little too quickly with so much being introduced at once - I found myself needing to tap back and forth to make sure I was following the right details and characters, but once I had that under my belt it was a smooth page turner from there! Lots of twists and speedy pacing make this a fun read that would be great for a book club discussion. Thanks for the ARC!

Ruby’s daughter is missing. She is hoping and praying it has nothing to do with her past. No one knows who she really is. Will she be forced to face her past to save her daughter?
This was a very fast paced, quick read and I enjoyed it!

Wow! What a twisted tale.

If you are sensitive to abuse, sexual, mental or physical you may not want to read this book.
But if you do read it do so with an open mind.

The heartache Ruby (Tilly) endures is unbelievable and heartbreaking. But, she has moved on and is raising her two kids in a new house she loves.

Then the unthinkable happens and Ruby and her family and friends are on a mission to solve the case. But what she finds is the ultimate betrayal. Will she even get past it?
Read this book to find out.

Ruby has been raising her two kids Maple and Dodge on her own. She’s also a successful author but what her kids don’t know is that the horrific story she wrote is not actually fiction. Using her terrible past to make money and give her kids a future seems like the best revenge. You can’t hide from your past forever though, and one day Maple is kidnapped and Ruby is forced to revisit her past life.
I think the book could have been a bit longer because the resolution goes a little fast. That being said I loved Ruby and the way she loves her kids more than anything. Loved that the big bad was not who I thought it would be (he was a walking red flag for another reason though).

A woman who's kept secrets for nearly 18 years is at the center of Mother Daughter, a new thriller written by Anya Mora. I've read one of the author's previous books which is why I grabbed this new release when it appeared on NetGalley. Ripe with conflict and natural curiosity, it's a compelling story. Clearly the mother has been traumatized by something in the past, and when we learn what happened to her, it's horrific. But those people were apprehended, so who could be causing all the problems now again? As it comes together, it's a little off-center, but it makes for a complex tale with good characters. Kept me engaged the whole time and shows why the author's solid for untold stories.

An exciting, suspenseful tale of Ruby who lives a life of secrecy. No one knows the story of her horrible past, not even her son and daughter. Ruby writes a book about how she escaped the past with only her baby and another on the way but markets it as fiction. Seventeen years after she started over, her daughter goes missing. Will she have to face her past to save her daughter? As her world starts to unravel, she keeps looking for a miracle. This is a quick, thrilling read that comes to a surprising, jaw dropping end. I recommend reading this story of Ruby or is it Lucy or is it Tilly?

What a clever way of writing. Writing about a writer who is writing about their traumatic experiences in life .
Great twists believable characters and I read it in a couple of days, a real page turner for me.
The gory details were not too gory and enough was left to the imagination . I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was a good book! i like the mother-daughter relationship theme and the mystery of the missing daughter was good, but even better was the secrets of the mothers past possibly coming forward and now she is suspicious that someone is aware of her secrets and trying to expose her! This was a great read!

Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complementary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!
