It was such a great read. Two of my most favourite books, Bridgerton and Fifty Shades if mixed together then gives me this and I had a great time reading this one.
The plotline was wonderfully woven with an amazing set of characters in it. I had a great time reading this one.

DNF @ 11% - I found the narrator of this just wasn't for me. Whilst the premise of the book was intruiging, and the set up nice and pacy, I just couldn't get into the voice. Leaving as a 3 as this is a personal preference thing.

I listened to the audio book version of this book, and I enjoyed it so much. This was a fun and deliciously steamy book that I couldn't put down. This is also the first book I have read from this author. I can't wait to read more. I definitely recommend this book to other romance readers.

I am a HUGE fan of watching period dramas and have semi-recently (and by recent, I mean the past few years) gotten into reading them too. Of course, I started with non other than the Bridgerton's because, why not. Needless to say I went in head first down the preverbal rabbit hole of this genre. No regrets either! Since then, I have read some questionable--obviously didn't do much homework on social etiquette and other essentials of the era for their novels--and I have read TOP NOTCH all the consideration taken, novels. This novel lands somewhere in the middle. I loved the absolute love/hate, back and forth merciless lusting of the MFC and MMC, but I also saw the absolute frailty of the scenario for this era. These things just were not done in good social circles. Yes, the MFC was once part of the lower class and can, in some degree, be excused for bad behavior. YET, she also knew what she was doing was wrong and did so anyway...so, exception revoked.

Overall, this was a great period drama with some nice steamy scenes and a happy ending, but if you are a die hard who is hellbent on authors following era standards, you might want to pass. I exceptionally HATED the father in this story and would so like the ending to be changed just slightly to include his outright demise. He was a foul, loathsome creature.

That is all!

No Regrets!!!!

It was a fun and steamy book that was a good read. It does require a certain amount of suspension of disbelief as Patricia puts herself in ruinous situations time and time again that does feel far fetched. It's a nice light entertainment that shouldn't be taken too seriously or too much thought.

3.5⭐️
This was an interesting concept. The serialized story within the story was definitely the spicier bit of the book, and entertaining. The parallels between it and Patricia circumstances made it connect well with the main plot. I also enjoyed the hint of mystery to the storyline, although the resolution felt slightly anticlimactic. Patricia and Thomas’ dynamic felt a little too spontaneous for me at the start but grew in me as the story developed. Patricia is a fairly standard Historical Romance FMC: I little naive and very stubborn. I did like the backstory of how she ended up in the peerage and would consider reading the book about her brother to see more of it.
Allie Rose does a great job with the narration. She definitely captured the young, energetic vibes of Patricia, but also managed to bring Thomas’ more solemn and tormented energy to life as well.
Overall, this is a fun and diverting story that is good for something looking for entertainment without too much heavy plot to track.

I listened to the audiobook version, and I really enjoyed it. The spice was good and the characters are intriguing. I really enjoyed Tricia’s personality and the internal struggles the main characters face. I liked that there was a mystery to solve in there too. This was a fun read. If you want a spicy age gap historical piece, this could be for you. Thank you to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for the audiobook of "The Perils of Patricia" by Helen Hardt.

This Regency romance is a refreshing addition to the genre, going beyond the typical light, fluffy reads to deliver a well-written, engaging story. This was my first book by Helen Hardt, but it certainly won’t be my last. If you’re a fan of Regency-era romance looking for something a bit richer and more polished, I highly recommend diving into this series.

This was really well done for a Regency romance. Typically these are just light, fluffy, quick reads but this one was well-written too. This was my first Helen Hardt read and it won't be my last. If you love Regency era romance definitely recommend this series.

The audio read really fast so I am happy I got a copy of this from NetGalley and Brilliance Publishing!

Thank you Netgalley and brilliance publishing for the alc. I have loved Helen Hardts previous books so was giddy I was approved for the audiobook. I found the audiobook hard to listen to ans couldn't understand most of it and didn't make it past the 25% mark as a result. I tried to adjust speed but it did little to make it more clear.

I really enjoyed The Perils of Patricia. Helen Hardt is an amazing author and wow is all I can say. Patricia and Thomas' story was sexy, sensual and steamy. I love reading historical romances and this was certainly a good one with amazing spice. I love a jealous hero and Thomas is certainly jealous. I enjoyed the romance and parties but I also enjoyed that this book had an underlying mystery. It added to the book and made it a fun, interesting read. There is also a pamphlet between the chapters which is equally steamy and enjoyable. Patricia and Thomas were great characters and the narrator Allie Rose did an amazing job bringing this novel to life.

Thomas and Tricia are quite the sizzling couple. Thomas has inherited his earldom, but is suspicious of his father's death. His initial meeting with Tricia, several years his junior throws him into a tizzy. With a mystery to solve, a new Earldom to run, keeping off the pressure of matchmaking mama's, and fighting his snowballing attraction to Tricia, Thomas has a lot on his plate. With Tricia's stalwart insistence that they are a good match, and her support, things come to a harrowing but satisfying end.

This book was steamy, there is a parallel storyline from a series of sexy pamphlets too, so you get twice the steam. The narration was great, Allie Rose did a fab job.
