This would have been so great for when my son was becoming a big brother the first time, but I know it will be on our shelf as soon as he gets promoted again! I love the comparison of a baby to a dino baby, as it feels like there really is a lot in common. This would be a great way to tell a family member or young kid they are getting a sibling while also tying in something they love- dinosaurs. It can show them how exciting it is to get a sibling and fun when you have a best friend. I can't wait for this to publish!

Thank you to Sourcebooks Kids for the advance copy!
This is a cute children's book that is perfect for families that are welcoming new babies. It includes all sorts of experiences that the new older siblings will experience, and introduces them in a fun and engaging way. The illustrations are so adorable, and the text was easy to understand for young children.

The authors of these really do a nice job making them silly without being ridiculous. The flow is nice. Each one is a little bit different. My 5yo loves them, and slightly older or much younger readers will appreciate them too.
The illustrations are colorful if not overly exciting. When my daughter was learning to read we took turns reading the words that were written in a silly font or different color, and those are also nice for emphasis.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I will purchase for my library.

As we have a brand new baby in the house, this was the best time for receiving the ARC. My children ages 2-8 were all anxious about their new little Babysaurus that was arriving and this book genuinely helped them remember the joy in a new sibling and help the first time big sibling 2 year old, see the excitement in being an older brother and just how not scary a new baby is. And this was all done in a silly and very cute book. The rhyme scheme was kept as normal. The artwork was adorable. I overall completely forgot it was a part of her 'How to Catch's series though it follows the entire premise with the cutest little ending. Hint: He catches the Babysaurus at the end :) Just like a family awaiting a new bundle with an older kiddo will get their very own Babysaurus soon too. I recommend for any family with kids expecting a new little one coming very soon, excited or anxious, I think any kiddo age 2+ will enjoy this book.

My three boys absolutely cherished this book! I had so much joy hearing their giggles as we turned each page. Such a fun book! I wish I had this when I taught preschool for my library classroom shelf. Wonderfully done!

Love love love this book. My family and I are already obsessed with all the how to catch my books for our kids! They really enjoy them and I can’t wait for this book to come out so we can buy it for them! The illustrations are always top tier and the story line is so well done! Thanks for the ARC read! 🥰

The illustration in this books is phenomenal. I read with my toddler and she was pointing out so many details in the pictures and relating the house to our own. It’s very engaging.
The story is cute! The rhyming made the story flow and encouraged my daughter to participate. This would be a very cute story to read a child before a new sibling arrives. It would lend itself so well to a conversation and make a complex topic more approachable for littles.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so adorable! The illustrations are amazing and so beautiful! This book will be an amazing book to share with kids.

Cute Babysaurus book. The way the story went of all that’s happening in the house,I thought for sure it was going to be a new baby. But the babysaurus moving in is way more fun.

I read this book with my 5 year old son during bedtime, so I asked for his review. He said, “I love this book! Especially the upstairs part!” I assume he is talking about then Ninfa part, which caused some giggles.

This was such a cute story. My daughter and I loved this one so much. It was such a cute book about a sibling. My daughter was laughing at some parts. She really liked how the baby was compared to a dinosaur and that she agreed with several of the comparisons.

We are huge "How to catch a…" book fans in this home!! I know there are a lot, and we own several of them. I have said this in another book review of the same series. My kid was so excited to read these!
How to Catch a Babysaurus is as cute and fun as it sounds. This book is about having a new little one coming. This book is perfect for families that have a new addition. I wish we would have had this two years ago! Even if you don't have a little new one, it's good for any type of change. I will be adding this one to our library. The illustrations are amazing and one of my favorite things about this series. I can't wait to see what they do next.
Many thanks to Sourcebooks Wonderland and Netgalley for an e-ARC. All thoughts an opinions are my own.

We love the how to catch series by Alice Walstead.
The illustrations are lovely and a book that can be read by several age groups as well. My little thinks the stories are funny and so far how to catch the easter bunny book is her favorite. I thought the babysaurus book was a fantasic book. Highly recommend this series

Another “how to catch” book, this time about a baby dinosaur, but actually a new baby. The main character is being told by his parents that a new baby is coming, but he doesn’t understand. He’s decided that it’s a baby dinosaur; loud and smelly. Ultimately, he decides they’ll be best friends.
This is a cute concept and a fun book for a future big brother or sister, with the how to catch a baby dinosaur parallels to a new baby coming home. It is a bit of a stretch and I had to add explanation to my son for him to understand it, but the artwork is fun.

Mother of two here, and the How to Catch books, by Alice Walstead, are some of our favorites! How to Catch a Leprechaun and How to Catch an Elf are definitely favorites in our household but How to Catch a Babysaurus was so fun, and a rhyming children’s book is always a major plus for our family. Our favorite part was the older brother realizing he loves the babysaurus and wanted to keep him around. It was the perfect book for my 8-year-old to read to my 5-year-old! The illustrations are beautiful, as always, and the cover is so creative! Alice Walstead is so creative with all of these, of course we would recommend this to another family.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids for this eARC!

My daughters love this series. We read every one that comes out. They just got a new baby brother so this one was extra special to them. It’s so sweet how the little boy learns that playing with his baby brother is fun. The love he has for his little babysaurus is adorable. The perfect book for a child getting a baby sibling.

Uh oh, a babysaurus is coming to your home, what are you going to do? How can you catch a babysaurus? This would be perfect for kids who are getting a new sibling, but anyone could enjoy this fast-paced, brightly illustrated little story. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

I love the How To Catch series, and was so glad to see this new edition! Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!

Cute book that could help prepare a child for their new sibling. Reminds me of boss baby with a dinosaur twist.

How to Catch a Babysaurus, written by Alice Walstead, is the newest book in the How to Catch... series. In this sweet and hilarious book, a young boy knows that someone's on the way to live at their house with him, but he doesn't exactly know what to expect. His best friend has had a similar experience, and tells him that a Babysaurus is coming. Through a fantastic story and illustrations, our protagonist comes up with ways to shield himself and his things, but of course we have to have a happy ending!
I loved this book, and the sweet story line. I can definitely picture this being a great book to share with young readers, especially those interested in STEM or those who are a little hesitant about a little sibling. Thank you to NetGalley and to the author and publisher of this book for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
