Natasha is searching for her dad in 1998. She needs him to teach her how to be a Timekeeper. She will do anything it takes, even if she might lose everything, to learn the truth about Gray Wolf Academy, Arthur Blackstone and his real plans. Before it's too late.
Starting with an enticing prologue from Braxton's perspective, the intrigue skyrockets immediately due to what happens in it. Presenting a tighter narrative than its predecessors, this installment is all the better for it. Utterly readable, you just gobble up the pages. The 1st person POV still makes us feel like we're along for the exhilarating ride, and we remain in Natasha's corner whatever she does. We feel what she is feeling. The vivid imagery is precise to the moment in storytelling, the figurative speech lending its creativeness to reinforce the evocative strength of the narrative.
Things move along at a gratifying pace, in a refreshingly unconvoluted manner. In the midst of her Yoda-like training and other experiences, we witness the protagonist's evolution with keen interest. We learn a lot about the time travel and mythology of this world and I am elated. I really liked how the book returns to the prologue and continues from there giving us more of Braxton's POV, Yay! He is as interesting and swoon-worthy as ever. Natasha's complicated relationship with Elodie is always interesting to read also.
There is some repetitiveness, the reminiscing and musings oftentimes longwinded and not at the best time. I think I needed more 'justice' in the finale and a few more things tied up.
This book is about finding the strength within. It plays compellingly with ideas that have to do with the concepts of time and fate. Also the notion that the world is big, the universe vast but everything is connected, something that is repeated often in the book. It also teaches us that time is precious.
With jaw-dropping reveals & surprises and nail-biting suspense, this finale is still giving us that time travel awe and fun plus the DaVinci Code feel, in a storyline that I absolutely enjoyed.
If you want an entertaining series about time travel that’s basically a love letter to art, music, and history, then you’d enjoy this one. It was gratifying to see Natasha’s growth throughout the series, and I felt like she really came into her own power. I actually really loved Killian, and wanted him to get his redemption arc. The ending seemed rushed to me, and I think the book could have benefited from more pages, but overall I enjoyed it.

Thank you to Entangled Teen, Entangled Publishing, Alyson Noël, and NetGalley for the ARC. I received an advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Chasing Eternity is book 3 in the Stolen Beauty series by Alyson Noël.
This is a phenomenal modern fantasy story.
Alyson Noel is a talented writer and it shows during this read.
A compelling supernatural romance thriller.
I was thoroughly impressed by the author’s beautiful writing and the effort she put in crafting a vivid and detailed world for the story.
A remarkably stunning fantasy that was fun, amazing and such a whirlwind book.
With adventure, forbidden love and mystery this was a bombshell.
I’ve enjoyed all three books and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to have read them.
In Chasing Eternity, we take off right where we left off! The plot flows quite quickly still and we get to unravel the great mystery that is Grey Wolfs Academy and its dean!
I found that this book was more heavily on art and all the pieces they use to time travel (etc) which left me a bit lost at points as I know almost 0 of art. I also felt that for the majority of time, we weren’t seeing what was happening but rather being told by the FMC what was happening - I know she’s supposed to be an art prodigy but it felt like she was telling she did it instead of showing if it makes sense.
Again, Alyson’s writing always bring a sort of comfort and nostalgia and I think I’ll forever love her short chapters!
This is a thrilling and emotional conclusion to the trilogy. Natasha’s journey to 1998 New York, risking her existence to uncover secrets about her father and Gray Wolf Academy, is gripping and poignant. The blend of high-stakes time travel, romance, and suspense kept me hooked, while the vivid settings and art references added depth. Natasha and Braxton’s relationship growth was beautifully handled, and the twists and redemption arcs made for a satisfying finale. Though the pacing started slow, it quickly picked up, tying loose ends and leaving me reflecting on its themes—a perfect conclusion for fans of imaginative storytelling, time travel, and emotional depth.
Time Travel mixed with art, betrayal and love.
This is my favourite book of the trilogy. Even though there isn’t as much time travel as in the other books, the characters made the story interesting enough to keep me hooked.
All the art references are also amazingly done. The pacing is good, the writing style very fluent. All puzzle pieces, revealed in the previous books, align perfectly in this conclusion.
Some things happened a little bit too fast or too suddenly in my opinion, but this didn’t pull me out of the story.
I also loved the romantic relationship in this book, how the characters trust each other. Overall, all the characters were interesting. Some of them managed to surprise me in a positive way, while with others it was the opposite.
The ending wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but it felt very fitting for this story. I’m curious to discover what else the author has in store for her audience.
If you liked books one and two, you’ll definitely want to pick up Chasing Eternity as well.
What a thrill ride this entire trilogy has been, but most especially this final book. CHASING ETERNITY takes Natasha (and readers) back to a time when her father was alive. Questions are answered, but even more questions are posed, and the meeting between them leads to some serious consequences that affect Natasha and the academy itself.
This third installment brings our characters full circle and really answers all of the threads that were left hanging in books 1 and 2. I loved finally getting the reasons about the academy and why it was created, and I also liked learning more about Arthur. This story also brings back some characters that we haven’t seen in a while and I really liked how the story concluded for all of them, but especially Natasha and Braxton. While I’m sad to see this series end, I’m thrilled to have it end the way it did.
Bottom line - a great conclusion to the trilogy, and I’ll definitely be adding these to my reread list. If you’re a fan of time travel, romance, dystopian worlds, and academies, give this series a shot. 4.5 stars, rounded to 5 because I’m still left thinking about it.
Thank you EntangledTeen and NetGalley for my complimentary eARC of Chasing Eternity.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow. This was a frantic race to the finish of an incredible series.
Even though we (think) we know who is good and who is evil, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I never truly trusted anyone.
I enjoyed how the story lines were wrapped up, and I know this is the end of the series....but is it really?
Time is funny. We all think it is linear, but as Natasha and Braxton race through time to save the world, they question their perception of reality. Is time really a flat circle?
If you've read this series be ready for the epic conclusion. You will question everything you know (or don't know) about time travel.
I don’t want it to be over! I have loved these characters for so long. Even though I’ll be hoping Gray Wolf brings me back in time to read this series again and again this third book doesn’t disappoint. It’s everything you want it to be and more. It’s the perfect conclusion and I know you’re going to love it.
If a reader thought that this last book in the series is going to be an exciting end to wrap up the tale of the first two books, they aren't quite right. These pages offer that but also more.
Nat is determined to stop whatever plans the head of Gray Wolf Academy has in store, especially since they circle around the very thing which defines existence—time. Although it's risky and maybe not her best idea, she heads back thirty years to 1998 to find her father and learn the truth of Timekeeping. What she discovers is worse than first thought, and her every move could destroy the thing she's trying to save.
The first chapter jumps right into Nat's attempt to find her father while managing to ease in enough space to remind readers about where the last book left off before really digging in. The back-and-forth between the characters shines immediately and provides plenty of personality. This is especially true for Nat, but then, the naturalness of her character is one of the strengths of this series. It does take a bit for action to sink in, which would usually be a problem for me, but there is so much to discover and learn along the way that the word 'boring' doesn't poke in its head. s the story progresses, more and more comes to light and many of these not only surprise but add an entirely different twist.
There is romance, but it doesn't drive everything and holds heart. The friendships also face pulls and tugs but give everything needed to root for. Even the family aspect offers a nice, added foundation with the needed prods tossed in. Add the teen angst and a shrewd villain, and it's a satisfying (and exciting) end to the trilogy.
There could not have been a more perfect ending to this Trilogy. Chasing Eternity was a could not put down, epic conclusion with a redemption arc that I couldn’t have predicted. From picking up right where Ruling Destiny left off without skipping a beat, to the twists that really I don’t think anyone could have seen coming, Alyson has done an amazing job wrapping this all up with the most perfect bow that keeps people thinking long after they put the book down.
It truly was a joy seeing our main characters find out who they are, and who everyone isn’t. I didn’t think there could be much world building left, but boy was I wrong. Every plot hook tied up, every tear that could be shed, and everything one could have hoped for. While I don’t know that this was a happy ending, it was certainly a perfect one. This book ties beautifully into the first, a feat that can be difficult when going beyond a stand-alone or duology. Natasha and Braxton continue to be some of my most thought about characters, and while I am sad it is over, the ride was incredible. I highly recommend this series for anyone who likes time-travel, art and tarot. I can't wait to see what Alyson has in store for us next!
Chasing Eternity, by author Alyson Noel, is the third and final installment in the author's Stealing Infinity series. At the end of Ruling Destiny, Natasha Clarke brought back the Moon from Italy. Without letting Braxton know what she was planning, she almost immediately gets sent back to 1998 New York City with Elodie Blue, who she's not sure she can trust, hoping to find answers.
Maybe, if she is lucky, Natasha can find her father, Mason, who went missing when she was 8 years old. Her father was also a Timekeeper. Maybe she can get some answers about what she must do to defeat Arthur and prevent him from playing God once the Star is retrieved. Arthur, who runs Gray Wolf Academy, is trying to restore the Antikythera Mechanism by using Natasha, a Timekeeper, to travel back in time and bring pieces for him.
So far, Natasha has found two of three important pieces. By going into the past, and learning from her father, she's hoping that she can harness her new Timekeeper abilities which have been growing each time she travels into the past, or finds another clue in paintings, and maps. Meanwhile, Braxton, who has become Natasha's love interest, traded his destiny for a life of luxury. He was also there when Killian killed Natasha's father, something he is trying to make up for.
By helping Nat discover a way to defeat Arthur and to gather allies together to help them, maybe he can forgive himself for not doing enough to save Mason. On the other hand, Killian who is hot and cold, seems like he wants more from Natasha than she's willing to offer. How can she actually just Killian knowing that he is likely on the wrong side? Could Killian be the key to stopping Arthur, or just another obstacle to losing her life, and everything she's worked hard for at Gray Wolf Academy?
One of the things I noticed in this book is the growth of Natasha and her willingness to put it all on the line to stop Arthur. She has to sift through her fellow Trippers to decide who she can trust, and who she needs to stay away from. On one hand, she knows that Braxton got hurt because of her. On another hand, there are subtle hints that there was more to Elodie than meets the eye and boy was I right.
The book was action-packed and yet the author found time for Nat and Braxton to have a bit of alone time together to explore their new relationship. The main reason for my review is what I stated in my update. I did not like the ending. After everything that happens, it feels like a cop-out. Nat, and even Braxton, put their lives on the line and the author made a bad choice on how she wrapped up the series.
The beginning was a little slow and complicated. It also did not make a lot of sense how quick she learned her skills. Once you get past that the story kicks into high gear. The romance steps up. Although the author says this is the final book, I feel there are still some openings for further exploration.
Thank you Entangled for the ARC of this most anticipated release!
When I say I have been dying for this book, this series had been such a joy to read with it fresh and unique plot. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book.
And it left me really disappointed—which I don’t take lightly.
It felt like the story had no direction. The plot was just saying POOF and making problems disappear with no effort or work. The characters journey felt like it should culminate in an epic final show down, and instead I was just confused.
The romance was lackluster and didn’t give me the feels like the previous two.
Overall I love these characters, but this story felt rushed.
It pains me to say it because I loved the story, and I was really excited to see how things were going to end.
Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by Chasing Eternity and was like a filler book and not a conclusion. Most of the characters felt flat and there just for the sake of it. Even such strong characters as Elodie and Arthur were strange. The whole time, I expected Elodie to have a big part in how things were going to end. With her cunning, never miss anything character and the ominous way she behaved, I was sure she will act in some way. She even threatened Natasha that if she intends to hurt Arthur in any way, then they are enemies. That led me to believe that she knew she was his daughter all along, and she knew Nat's plans, and she was keeping an eye on her. In the end, she didn't play any role in all of this, which was really disappointing because I loved her complex character. The chemistry with Braxton was awkward and felt forced. It's like they didn't make time clearing things between them and straight on jumped to the phase of eternal love towards each other. Furthermore, when he spoke he used only grand stiff phrases like they were rehearsed, which added to the awkwardness between them.
And my biggest heartbreak was Killian's character. I adored how magnetic his presence was since he joined the story, and his chemistry with Nat was through the roof. And even though he killed her father at the end of book two, you loved his character soo much that you were ready to overlook that. Alas, in this book he was like a cartoonish shallow version of himself that felt like his only appearance was solely to annoy Nat and nothing more. Not depth for him, his change and his final gesture and his intentions felt flat because of that.
And we come to Natasha—I desperately wanted her character to have some development, growth and change, but all was only talk. The event with her father that was supposed to change her so much had no impact on her character whatsoever and only brought out more questions.
What was her training? Was that only siphoning knowledge to her brain? And who was the man that transferred her that knowledge? And I didn't understand how it was related to the swirls appearing on her body? When she used that knowledge or? And in the end, she didn't felt wiser or changed, all she did was blurt unexpected facts and bits at strange moments.
Furthermore, why was she the first female Timekeeper? I thought she was meant to be Arthur's weakness or something like that, but it was brushed off. For the record the whole time (previous books included) I thought that Elodie and Arthur have a romantic relationship and when they witnessed Arthur's ritual I was 10000% sure that Elodie was his big love that he tries to bring her memories back or something of the sort….and the fact she turned out his daughter was strange.
More unanswered questions were :
- when and why Nat was in that labyrinth, holding the book? It wasn't explained, and I thought she was going to use the book to time travel, and she was going to do the exact scene witnessed in her unraveling and will make sense, but…
—how did Arthur find out about her father's safe, and how did he change that?
—why Jago warned her? And why didn't we see him take part in all that, since he knew something? His interaction was pointless
That are a few loose ends and strange things that I recall, but all in all, it felt like chaotic and too many strange decisions.
Thank you NetGalley, Entangled teen and Alyson Noel for the ARC of Chasing Eternity.
What an ending to a fantastic series. I fell in love with the first book and it still lives after reading the last. I enjoyed the complex dynamic of the characters and the time travel. I feel it was left open for possibly more in the future and hope so. This series is one of my favorite and I will definitely re read a lot.
I sad it’s over but know I can come back anytime to Grey Wolf academy and all the mystery it holds.
Okay so I know I’m a smidge behind, but I just finished this book. In fact, I woke up at 4am and stayed up until 6 to read the rest of it. This series has been amazing! It’s giving The DaVinci Code and I’ve been here for it. The time travel, the tarot, the enemies, the lovers, the boarding school vibes, sign me the F up.
The final book in this epic trilogy is phenomenal! It is action packed, heart stopping, and emotional. I feel like I know these characters and watching them on this journey has been magical. Alyson Noel knows how to make you feel all the feels! I wish the epilogue had been a little different, but I get why it ended the way it did. It didn’t take away from the book in any way, just a personal preference.
I highly recommend! This book came out a bit ago so if you’ve read it, talk to me about it!
In this book, we pick up where the second book stopped- a secret trip to 1998. Natasha is desperate and willing to risk everything. She has to find a way to stop Arthur and save time itself. She believes the only path is to convince her father to teach her the secrets of her heritage as a Timekeeper. Can she learn enough to get ahead of Arthur for once?
The deception that weaves through Gray Wolf Academy leaves her struggling to know who to trust. Who will do anything for Arthur at all costs? Is there anyone who could be convinced to partner with her and Braxton? Natasha has to find a path that puts the Star out of Arthur’s reach and hopefully keeps Her and Braxton safe.
I enjoyed this spellbounding conclusion to the series. It kept me flipping pages and stressed as I wondered if they could pull off their plan. I both loved and hated the ending- it brought me satisfaction and left me open with questions. It was likely the perfect and only way to end this specific series.
I enjoyed this fantasy young adult novel. All three novels point to how we choose to tell our own life story- that we are writing that story every day. I appreciate the reminder that I can choose to focus on weaving my own story of overcoming. Noel writes with intrigue, suspense, and romance. Her characters have dimension- making both good and poor decisions.
Thank you Entangled and NetGalley for letting me have an ARC! I have been looking forwards to getting my hands on this book since I read book 2!
I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.
I dove back into Alyson Noel's Stolen Beauty trilogy with gusto as soon as Chasing Eternity landed in my lap! It was a longer wait to get this one, but it was definitely worth it as Noel brings us an exciting conclusion to this smashing time-traveling series!
Time-traveling books can always be a bit of hit or miss for me as it largely depends on how the time-traveling is explained. Is it magical, is it science...how complex is the process. Noel seems to have a but of both going on here but might rely more on the science aspect. It's been awhile since I read the first two books of the series, and the time-traveling aspect wasn't explained in great detail this time around, but I followed along well enough.
In this installment, we have Natasha trying to work against Arthur as she learns the enigmatic professor of Gray Wolf Academy isn't all what he led her to believe. He's harboring his own secrets and they concern the true reason why he wants the Antikythera Mechanism restored to its former glory.
Natasha has decided to take an unsolicited trip back to 1998 in New York to meet her father, the one Killian murdered not that long ago. She's hoping that he can help her harness her new Timekeeper abilities. Joining her, surprisingly, is Elodie, who had made the last minute jump with her. Natasha is hesitant to trust Elodie's motives as she is steadfastly loyal to Arthur for reasons Natasha isn't too sure of just yet.
Although, it's not long before the two head back home when they learn Arthur has returned early from his own trip and also waiting there is Killian, who apparently helped cover for Natasha's absence. Arthur reveals he knows where the last piece of the Antikythera Mechanism is and he wants Natasha to go back in time to retrieve it for him. He plans on sending either Killian or Elodie with her and Natasha isn't sure who she'd prefer since both of them are loyal to Arthur as it seems Arthur knows Natasha's loyalty is wavering.
This book was one wild ride. I'll admit the delay between books muddled my memory a bit, but thankfully I took some notes so I had an idea of what had happened! Lol. Despite the overwhelming amount of pages--or perhaps I found it overwhelming as I just finished two other books that were in the 500s for page count--the pacing to this one was surprisingly good. I'll admit, the beginning was a bit rough with Natasha training and talking to her dad in the past. As things just seemed to move in slow motion almost, but pretty much the moment she went back to her current timeline, things moved at a steady pace with quite a few pick me ups of action of some kind!
That being said, the romance of this book was positively swoony! I had forgotten how much I loved Natasha and Braxton! They had a rough start at the beginning but eventually found some peace and worked through their issues. There were more romantic interludes than I expected in this one and it was a sweet kind of break from all the seriousness happening around them.
We also finally learn more about Arthur's true intentions with the Antikythera Mechanism and why he wants it fully restored. It was pretty shocking! And the shocks did not stop there as we'd learn several new jaw-dropping bits of information before the story ends and what an ending it was! I wasn't expecting this kind of shock factor. Generally with series finales, I always hope for that HEA ending where we see the characters get their peace and happiness and the possibility of more adventures to come, even if we never see it. While we get that in a sense here, it was far different from what I had anticipated and it left me discombobulated, to say the least! Lol.
All in all, Chasing Eternity was an exciting conclusion to the Stolen Beauty trilogy! Noel has a knack for writing compelling characters in impossible situations! While I am sad to see this series come to an end, it does feel like it's in the right place...but then there's always that little crack in the back door that gets left open. One that will always make you wonder...but I digress! If you're looking for an exciting time-traveling series with suspense, secrets, and romance, then look no further than this!
Overall Rating 4/5 stars
